Thanks for another great tutorial Greg, they're helping me make less mistakes each time and ensuring I get closer to the result I visualized before I picked up the clippers and razor.
Thank you for passing down your wisdom, and walking is through your process! When you turned on your head shaver, it grabbed my bird's attention from all the way across the room.
You are blessed with great coverage! Thank you for a great video!
I haven’t seen this video. Another good one for sure. Thank you, Greg.
I love watching a man trim a beard. I think it hearkens back to watching my dad trim his when I was a preschooler. I love his final result too.❤🙂
So happy to find a video done in MM. My guards are all in mm and I never know what other people mean! Thank you!
As always, great stuff
Another great video Greg. I've subscribed to your channel for a few years now and decided to give Artius Man a try. All I've used is Cremo beard products for many years. I ordered the DIY kit all in the logger scent. I also used your discount code, thank you. I haven't received it yet but I'm excited to give it a try.
great video...helped a lot bro :)
That’s a good tip about using the backplate to trim up the stray hairs. I’m adding that to my beard maintenance. Recently just trimmed my beard too since the humid months are here in the Carolinas. Thanks for the video. Beard looks great
Awesome, great video
Nice video as always
And cool shirt 😉
Really enjoy the 'down home casualness' to your videos. Thanks Greg.
Glad you like them!
Glad to see another amazing beard tutorial. Having only had my beard since January this is perfect and my favorite length. I need to practice more so that I don't have to run to my barber ever 4 weeks as mine grows pretty quick. I want to maintain at home so I can do it more often.
Well, I hope this helps. Honestly, I don’t trust most barbers with a beard. That’s why I do these.
Man you are the best when come to beard! I wish I look good with bald head and beard like you
Who else is lifting up their chin when he’s cleaning up his neckline? Lol
My routine off trimming my beard! 😊
beards lookng great!
This is the exact trim I've been doing I just make the 9 a ten millimeter lol I have the same clippers brio is the best , keep up the good tips very useful info!
Hi Greg, I’m enjoying your videos, I’m shaving my head just recently, but I’m growing my beard for four years now and every single time I’m trimming my beard, first I’m watching your videos
Thank you!
Takes me about an hour to cut my beard. I go slow to lessen an mistakes! Great video
My exact monthly routine (except a slightly shorter moustache) 😁
Got an old Remington flex 360 face shaver for my head though. 👍
I prefer the before but 100%
That longer mustache gives a brutal visual impact, short I don't know the same
Another great beard trim tutorial. Thanks! Any chance you’ll keep some scruff on the head this summer?
Long beard looked great on you as well, you should definitely one of these day's let it go to a length you haven't been at yet I think it would be nice to see! Currently growing mine out, in my second year I am African American with super curly/coarse hair so patience patience patience, for myself a beard like John Stewart Rock is where I'm aiming I have a long way to go lol, but keep the videos coming Stay Blessed!
I may be going for a yeard soon. Not sure just yet
Must be the time of the season. Likewise, I just trimmed down to a more manageable length from about 2 months of avoiding the clipper
This is where I'm going wrong and end up shaving all off :(
Thanks for this!
sharp and clean 😊❤️
Thanks!
I know exactly what you mean by the gray beard hairs make you look older. My beard is becoming more and more gray by the day and I look a lot older with a beard then without. Plus the longer mine grows the more the gray comes out. Even still I like to keep mine a little longer, like you started at. Looks good brother! Thank you for all the trimming videos, I find that they are the most helpful I have found on RUclips.
I really appreciate that
Salt n pepper.
I like to say...
We men don't get older,
We get better!
Another great trim video, Greg. I appreciated your comment about it only taking a month or two to grow back to the original length. I've been wanting to go a bit shorter for Summer but have been hesitant to lose some density. This video is good proof that the density would be back by September/October so I shouldn't be so reluctant. Thank you.
Go for it man! Switching it up is fun.
@@GregBoswell428 Hello. Do you trim your nasal hairs for a beard this length, or would that make things look wonky? It would seem you would, since you use the reverse edge of the Harry's Razor to add that small clean area above the mustache. Sorry for the stupid question.
@@camerondean6804 not a stupid question at all. Yes, I actually use nose hair trimmers and get way up in there. I can’t stand unsightly nose hair. I actually did this a couple of times in my trim videos but I can’t remember which ones they were.
@@GregBoswell428 Greg, thank you for the response. Forgot to mention before, you have another new subscriber.
@@camerondean6804 I appreciate it man! Thank you!
Another PERFECT example of what the perfect well kept beard is SUPPOSED to look like!!!☝️👌👏👏👏
Thanks!
Could u do a video on how to clean the brio?
kool beard🤗
Long beards are the best!
I prefer the "before" beard photo. 😝
same
Hey Greg thanks again for another great vid, shorter beard looks much better especially as like mine grey is making a swift addition to the face have you ever considered using beard dye?
Thanks!
No, dye is not for me.
I’m not that far from this length but would like to have your beard density especially on cheeks. But hey, at least I have all my hair on my head 😅
I'd like to see you do a review of a Hanson Shaving Safety razor. I bought one based on some IG ads. And a few youtube reviews. But, your "Viking style" beard growth matches mine. And a few have used them for head shaves too.
I'll check it out!
@@GregBoswell428 I mean I ordered the AL13-M based on deep dive research. Digging through the anals of RUclips vast shaving instructional influencer videos. At the age of 49. Having never used a safety razor ever in my life. After such consultation who knew watching men shave wasn't creepy at all. Thankfully it was just their faces and occasional scalp. But, seeing as your channel is the one I refer to the most for the care of my Viking Covid inspired beard. After receiving beard oil and balms as a gift for the first time at the age of 46. A whole new world of manscape self care being opened to me......
Ok...The IG ads sucked me in. I ordered the razor. And the extra blades. Then watched RUclips. Who new there was such prep work and non spray can shaving cremes and bowls and pre lubes?!? I have yet to use said AL13-M. As a avid Honda VT750DC motorcycle rider in Canada. I am not yet prepared to say goodbye to my illustrious covid beard. As last August I suffered the extreme beard trim remorse for taking 3 inches off it/him/it. As the creature dangling off my face doesn't have a name yet.
I hope I have influenced you into trying it thou.
Cheers.
:)

Great video and you make it look so easy. I need to start trimming my beard similar to yours as normally go to the Barbers but it takes time and not cheap.
I like the look of the Brio V2 but seems to be out of stock still in the UK 😔. Is there a big difference to the V1?
Thanks again
Andrew
Not hardly any difference
Thank you so much
I wish I hair would grow straight like yours. My beard hair is curly and just looks a mess all the time 😢
I go against the grain (direction the hair grows) with my trimmer. That way you get every hair the same length. I also go against the grain with the trimmer on the upper lip, and then trim it up without the guard on, along the lip line. No need to use a scissors. I’d probably cut my lip off! 🤕😂🤣
You look much better with the short beard and less of a “neck beard.” Looks great!
You need to make a video of all those women passing out as you walk by! That would go viral! 😂
Oooo, I should do that!!
i have a great barber who comes to me, and he trims my beard to what i want it.
Hi I see you used a Brio but in description you have a Wahl Aqua linked. Did you use this too?
I've seen mixed reviews of Wahl Aqua. Do you recommend? Thank you!
Looks great, but I’m looking forward to the giant beard/yard to return
I’m still on the fence about it
@@GregBoswell428 you can always trim it down after the yeard
Nice video. Do you ever trim the soul patch area independent of the beard? Or, does running the clippers down from lip to chin do the trick?
I just keep it uniform with the rest of my face
One thing that is annoying me is that I have had thick dark beard since I was like 18-19 years old. I am now soon 30 and I still don't have a moustache growth like yours, it grows only like a little bit.
This trim is good enough for now.
Unfortulatelly the beard would be problematic later if you wish to grow beard longer.
Thanks for the video. I have a question, why when you're trimming your beard with the guards, you go in the direction of the hair instead of going down to up?
Going against the grain produces a shorter cut
What’s the difference a #6 guard and a #8 guard. I grabbed a #6 when I was trimming my beard and just a couple weeks later, I was able to use a #8 again. Also, I’m so glad that I found your beard trimming tutorials because when I first had a beard, it was all or nothing…kinda like an old Nerf gun commercial. 😂
Well, a #8 guard is 1 inch. I can’t remember what a #6 is
Hey Greg do you have a fave beard bib? I checked Amazon and they had multiple versions
I’ve only ever used the Beard King Beard Bib. I have a link for it in the description
True 9mm would be achieved going against the grain, many hairs go along and close to the skin and are not trimmed by going with the grain so you now have mostly 9mm with some places with much more length than that like under the chin.
If it was against the grain lifting up all hairs while trimming then you would be truly 9mm on every single hair on your face.
Thanks Greg. So no 6mm moustache this time? Also I saw mt1 trimmer made by live bearded guys and that looks like a copy cat of brio. What are your thoughts on that?
I couldn’t tell anything about theirs. If they were to send me one I’d make a video on it for sure.
This would be my preferred length, if I had your density. unfortunately if I rake down the beard with a clipper like that, it reveals skin and also some of the patchiness. In short, If I'm to have a beard then it needs to be longer.
I understand that, for sure
up
So Greg you just washed your beard and trimmed it in it’s natural state or do you blow dry it to straighten it first? Trimming it in it’s natural curly state wouldn’t leave divots?
I just wash it and let it dry on its own. No blow dryer
I actually like the before.
Artius beard oil is thick, the amount of oil you use will make your bead hold thick and on top of that you add balm !! wont that make your beard stiff??
No, not at all
Two points of view for the price of one:
My wife has asked me to tell you that what you just did to your beard and moustache should be illegal. She's a big fan of big beards.
My own point of view: a beard is a highly personal thing and the only thing that matters is that you're happy with it. After you trimmed it, it undoubtedly looked more tidy and more neat, and I agree that the shorter look makes you look younger, however in spite of all of that, I preferred the 'before' look to the 'after' look, but I don't think it really matters because you're a handsome guy and I very much doubt that your beard is the first thing people would notice about you, plus you look younger than you actually are anyway.
My beard right now is full-on and Santa Claus white, so I'd need to shave the whole thing off to look any younger, but I use mine as a mask anyway as I'm a little (a lot) on the insecure side, but you look good whatever... so just enjoy it!
I love it when women love big beards! So many of them don’t.
I’m actually considering shaving off my beard on my birthday at the end of the month and then growing it back out for a year. Not sure just yet
Thank you for the kind words, Santa! 😄
@@GregBoswell428 Big beards are far more common in the US than they are here. Just about every comment I get is negative and along the lines of 'redneck' or 'Beverly Hillbillies', but thankfully my wife is an exception. If you do decide to shave it all off, I hope you'll consider a weekly or monthly video update so we can all watch it grow back :) I'd imagine you'd have it back to its current length by September
If you want a crispier line up get yourself a straight razor, it’ll make the beard pop more and look more professional!!!!
Whats your favorite length on the brio?
I’m all over the place on that because I love change. If I absolutely had to pick I’d say the 15mm
Your beard is a lot shorter than usual. Are you keeping this look or growing it long again?
Not sure yet
Would you mind dropping a link, for the razor??
Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention! I didn't realize I had left that out.

Thanks!! I appreciate all your time and energy. It helps so much, with finding trying new products.
@@tray_bone you’re very welcome! I’m just glad that someone let me know that I forgot to add that info 👍
Damn, it looked better before the trim. And by the way, women like it when you don't care TOO MUCH about what they like.
You said 9 mm, but do you mean a #9 guard? So that length is a little bit more than 1 inch long?
No, this is a 9mm guard
A 9mm guard on most beard trimmers will only leave your beard at 9mm if you go against the grain. The way he uses it, going down with the grain, it left his beard closer 18mm. Very few RUclipsrs do a good job of explaining this. You need to know which way the manufacturer of your trimmer expects you to go in order to know how long the trimmer will leave your beard.
Why go down the beard, and not up? 🤔
Totally different cut. Much shorter going against the grain
Where in Florida do you live?
Lakeland

Cool. I live in Minnesota, where the winters are freezing cold. :(
Better before
I agree
First I really enjoy your videos. But I need to ask why the beard? Beards first became popular back in the 19th Century. The reason being was to make them look older and more mature. A shaven face looks younger. If I were to grow out my beard, it would be mostly gray. Coloring on a beard since the hair is constantly growing is just temporary and pretty much most guys over 35 are starting to gray. IMHO shave the beard and you would drop like 15 years. You are fit and us that are bald or balding, which also makes us look a little older, just add to it. If you have never done it, treat yourself to a professional shave. I do it about twice a year. Talk about relaxing! Either way, I enjoy your various subjects.
Rank n file are required to baby face.
Special operators can grow beards, if they wish.
Others would if they could, but can't.
A beard is simply a man's badge of honor.
Each grey hair and each wrinkle on my face is a history of my life.
This beard length is good, The rest of of those long beards are gross
Unfortunately either way does not help. Some hair on the head might be good
