This is one of the few videos where I click on each and every ad on purpose, just so that the producer of this video makes more money out of it. Thanks for that tutorial. I was looking exactly for something like that and I have spent hours watching other videos that weren't as applicable as yours.
I have to point out. When he brushes his beard out and then brushes it down. Brushing it out like that is important. That's what gives it more body and if you brush it like that everyday the hair will more naturally have it sit more how you want it to. Just a little trick I saw him do and wanted to throw in my experience.
Just entering the world of beards at young age of 55, best video tutorial I've found on here without a doubt, clear and precise, Keep em coming Greg. Thanks
I’ve been shaving my beard for over 15 years and this is one of the best videos about it that I’ve ver seen. To the point and with good advice. Thanks!
I was getting so flustered on trying to trim my beard. I was almost ready to throw in the towel and go back to a stubble beard. So glad I found this, thank you man!
I greatly appreciate your video! I just retired from the Army and have always wanted to grow a beard. However, not ever having one, I didn't know how to keep it looking good. I followed your advice and couldn't be happier. Thanks again!
Ha ha, great comment!! 😂 Well, now that I'm older I have to be more careful.....but yes, I kind of used to be that way. I haven't totally changed, though. On the other hand, it would be nice to be remembered as being one of the nicest guys ever. Thanks for watching!
My beard grows really fast and I have never managed to shave it in a proper way without being dissatisfied. Ended up with me shaving it all off. With this video I finally managed to shave it nice and clean! Thank you so much!
thanks Greg this is by far the best video for beard shaping. your beard is majestic. I've been growing my beard for the past 3 months and i just created a v shape and i'm so proud of how it came out. you are the goat my friend.
thanks Greg for this clear tutorial video... never had the balls to do a beard trim myself.. (scared of messing up) with this video i finally did it! no regrets.. beard is looking clean and crisp.. huge boost in confidence here
I have been shaping my own beard for 24 years now, 15 years since I even went to a barber since I started shaving my head, I was way ahead of the game rocking a full head in 1994 lol the bald head in 2006, Its amazing how we all find the same tricks to shape up from trails and errors
Thanks Greg for this excellent tutorial, my beard is still a work in progress since January this year. I keep looking for simple, basic, well explained videos and the internet search keeps coming back to your ones. Just about to go and shape it now. Thanks again 😊
So I've been groiwing my beard for a full year and decided to trim. After watching this video I decided to try the stuff you told in this video and it was a success... I need a hair cut tho too... Im not doing it myself.
I tried this a few months back & really liked the result but wound up over grooming & screwed it up. Wound up shaving it all off, decided to grow it from scratch proper using beard oil, biotin, etc. Came out way better in terms of hair condition. My beard was getting kind of wild after about 2 months so I came back to your tutorial, did it again but perfectly this time, dramatic difference in my beard, looks way different I'd forgotten how much better it would look. I always wondered how to cut my beard like this but never knew how, big thanks. My confidence is way up, just felt like before my face didn't have nearly as much shape & the wild hairs made it look crappy.
I accidentally trimmed my beard into an awesome Kratos style beard a few months ago, and I completely forgot how I did it 😭 haven't been able to get it back that way since then.
This is a brilliant video simple and smart ,I went to barber and he made a mess of it neck line was too high and it was just a mess I was going to shave it off and start again but left it for a few weeks and followed this video really pleased with the result !
Awesome tutorial man good job! After 5 months of natural beard growth I'm very uneasy about trying to shape my beard (even though I've spent years trimming and shaping it at a short length) cos I don't want to ruin anything I've worked hard to grow... But I really want this v shape/kratos style beard and I reckon I have enough beard growth to do it. Just too on edge about trying it lmao but once again great video dude!
I color my beard at 43. I have a young looking face and I just can't do the natural look yet. The hard part is keeping it colored on the very short parts of the beard by the ears as it grows out.
This video helped me a lot. I never used to go down. I always used to go up and took too much off. My beard always came out OK but it was shorter than I wanted but today I did this method and it looks great. Thank you.
Excellent. I was lucky to have found your video first. It chose it because I like the present shape and length of your beard. I wish mine to look like this and no longer.
This is 4y old video but i still find it very useful. A suggestion - If possible, Please re-record this whole method with actual cutting of hair for more explanation. I almost always mess v shape on chin.
Great video of a very easy way to keep your beard looking sharp and clean. This video and the one in which you used the Aqua Blade are both saved on to use as reference. Good luck in everything you do!
Yes, I have one video where I go against the grain. But I also explain that this is not the norm. However, it can be done. It's just not my preference because the hair does lay differently.
Right on man, took me years to figure some of these things out. Great advice. I went against the grain for so long, great demo on how to line it up with the razor, I will be using that technique.
wish i seen this yesterday.. i removed way too much... i miss my longer beard :( also great shape on your beard, looks v.professional.. Also the whole 2 point on the chin is legit!, thats the way i naturally trim mine, think its part of our genetic memory :),.. i find my beard edge (between ear and back of jawline) gets too scragly with length so this style suits perfect
This is dope. I’ve shaved my beard off. I’m growing it back right now. Some of the guys have been giving me a hard time. Calling me baby face lol. And that I look to young to do the job that we do. I’m in my mid 30’s people lol. Awesome video.
My wife always told me she won't like beards, until i got one like yours and now she cant take her hands off of me. I have a nr 2 hair so I skip the nr 1 upper sideburn. Great video Greg. You're the man!
The hair on my chin gets dry and splits easily no matter how much oil I put on, has stopped me in the past from trying to grow it out and get that v-shape. I'm trying to see how it goes now, though.
Oh man, growing my beard for the first time I did to myself exactly what your barber did to you. Used a long comb to cut a very straight v, it looked so unnatural!
Little late to the party but glad I found you. Also glad that we're in quarantine for the next bit. I messed up the trim and need to grow it out a bit again. Great vids.
I have been looking for a good tutorial on this forever. I have the exact same head shape and beard type as you. Going to copy this to the T. Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks, man! You have no idea how much I appreciate that. I often wonder why my other videos don't get more views. The content is not dissimilar to RUclipsrs who have hundreds of thousands of viewers and subscribers. It's really weird. Maybe in time.
@@GregBoswell428 yea man I was looking through and noticed that as well. The content is amazing, maybe try a different approach? 🤔But just stay consistent and it'll all work out. 😊
Hi Greg, just found this video as I've been looking for instruction on shaping a v shaped beard like yours. One question... how do you trim the bottom part of the V directly under your chin to keep at the length you have it at without making it too square? Thanks!
Greg, one trim video, you said don’t wrap under jawline. A few others, including this one, you say wrap under jawline. What’s the difference please. Thanks
I have the same question. In the short to medium beard trim video, we’re going against the grain with a #6 on the sides under the jawline. Why the difference,? It’s certainly easier to use the wrap under technique. I hope Greg answers your question. His videos are so helpful!
Why couldn't I use a bigger guard and go against the grain (on the sides)? Just wondering, because no body really ever advises to go against the grain aside from doing a bit of a fade, so I guess there must be a good reason for it?
Great video, but after watching it a couple times I am still confused about two things. First of all, before you trim it, do you comb it so it is basically fluffed up or sticking out? I think I've been doing it wrong and combing it down and under the chin. Second question is about the bottom, you said don't trim the point, you don't need to, but now that part is long on mine an curling left or right. How do keep the point shaped without a trimmer?
You said to cut the cheeks with a number 3 straight down along the cheeks and to stop before you get to the chin. How do you that flat look under the tip if the chin?
After trudging through a bunch of unhelpful videos, we have all struck gold with this mans video. Exactly what we needed.
For all those asking a #3 guard is 10mm (#2 = 6mm, #1 = 3mm)
Thanks for clarifying that! I wasn't really for sure what they equated to.
Thanks just what I wanted to know.
u mean 9mm
???
Julian Pettifer No.3 guard is 9mm

if your aim is to grow length on the bottom, you would simply use a higher guard than a 3 to curve inwards towards the neck correct?
