This was my second thought after a dragon-scale effect. Maybe this could be a mixed media project if you had a deep tray because you could paint sea plants & shells. You could add in some plastic or resin fish & coat it with resin maybe?
This is called happy accident! I love it. I am a quilter and have trying to figure out how to mix quilting with resin or ecoresin! You've done it again.
I started out thinking teamdonteverdothisonyourchannelagain, HOWEVER, I now think that brushing it with black and then wiping it off to get an antiqued look would be fabulous.
I like the look. This would look great done with a plain napkin, white or colored, and then a paint wash brushed over it to fill in the wrinkles and wiped off so it's just in the wrinkles.
Love, love, love!!! You could put a coat of clear resin on top of napkin for a different look. Also, maybe gesso napkin before first pour and see what happens-just an idea-I can craft as of now for cleaning out house for new adventure and next season of life in a 5th wheel camper and travel a few years. Getting a toy hauler 5th wheel camper so I can have a craft room and a space for my art.
I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not, but the longer I looked it at, the more I liked it. My only thought was wishing I could have seen the napkin go down the sides of the tray. I think it would make a great journal/notebook cover if your leather suggestion works. Or creating a dragon-scales effect. I would love to see some more experiments with this technique.
I think it’s really cool that you tried it. It an interesting look that you will not get in any store. Im in the US and Ive never seen anything like before. Keep experimenting and living your best artistic life sweetie 🎉😊
My mind goes to applying a thin coat like you did with the resin on the washi stickers, brushing and smoothing out the napkin before dumping the rest on top. Of course the wrinkly texture looks like the faux crackle surfaces you see on a lot of home goods! I like it! 😁
I don’t mind the texture. I wonder if you had out a resin topcoat on it if it would have made the wrinkles go away? But it turned out gorgeous! Thank you. 😊
I'm in team love it! 💜 I still have napkins left over from my 40th birthday too. Only mine were a few years before yours and not even themed napkins, just plain purple ones.
My first thought was that it looked like crackled paint. If you had added a wash of a watered-down dark paint and wiped away the excess, you could have gotten a cool antiqued effect.
I don't think the heat press was a bad idea due to the creases not being visible in the finished product. I am a texture kind of girl so this is right up my alley! I would have put a clear top coat on this! I think it's gorgeous myself
leather texture vibes for sure. Love it! In fact I have a 'silver' vintage tray and the back is blue leather texture vinyl and I've always really liked it.
The hole point is you tried it and it looks pretty good texture was a surprise I think I would have put reason over It well done you for giving it a go doing so other people get great ideas from your demonstration 😊❤
I like this very much. A set of coasters to go with this tray would just be awesome as an item to sell or as a gift. I have never used Eco-Pour, but this really urges me to give it a go. I do wonder about adding a thin layer of epoxy resin to it. The results would be another one of those "matter of personal preference" things.
An underwater themed napkin would look good as it would look like water movement

As a quilter, I love it because a quilt isn't a quilt until you wash it and get those wrinkles 💙
Loved it Claire! 😍😍😍😍 I have to try eco pour soon 😁😁🥰
Yes, Daniel, you do! 😅😁👍
If the napkin had elephants on, they texture would make them look real! I quite like this effect x ❤
I've just said same thing!
I think it's quite clear that everyone loves it, myself included. ❤❤
I'd like to see it with a coat of epoxy over with a hint of sparkle. Napkins are so hard to keep smooth on anything. I personally love this look!
I absolutely love this Claire!! The texture brings it to life so much ooh endless projects.... sea napkins floral, leaves etc more please!!!!
This is called happy accident! I love it. I am a quilter and have trying to figure out how to mix quilting with resin or ecoresin! You've done it again.
It also looks a little bit like mosaic …. Doesn‘t matter how you like to name it, it is absolutely beautiful! I love it!
I started out thinking teamdonteverdothisonyourchannelagain, HOWEVER, I now think that brushing it with black and then wiping it off to get an antiqued look would be fabulous.
I'm Team Love It! I quilt and just love those well loved quilt wrinkles.
I love it. If I did not watch this I would have never guessed this was a napkin
Team Love It, for sure!!!! Ty sooo much for your curious nature!!!!!
I love it! Looks like a painting on a concrete wall. I love the texture. Very cool, Claire. xoxo
I like the look. This would look great done with a plain napkin, white or colored, and then a paint wash brushed over it to fill in the wrinkles and wiped off so it's just in the wrinkles.
I Mod Poch the napkin to the mold and pour after dry. That way you get a smoother surface.
I thought it looked like leather when you first demolded it - and I kinda love it. Thanks for experimenting for us again Claire 😊
I love the texture. Flat is sometimes boring.😊❤❤
Fabric is my life so I'm all about this. As a quilt?! How fun would that be!!! Claire, why do you make me want to make things 😭
I love it! So different.
I actually LOVE the texture! Super cool experiment, Claire!!! 😍🥰😎
I really like the way the napkin came out. So cool
It does look just like quilt material 😊
Love, love, love!!! You could put a coat of clear resin on top of napkin for a different look. This is awesome!! I love it so much! It doesn't make me think of a quilt, but it makes me think of chalk art on cement!
I love the texture! It has a gauze fabric look! Bonus the colors in the napkin are still vibrant!
You could put gold in creases to create old vintage look, and seal it with resin
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ That is unique! In love!

I love this Claire, call me whatever...but I love textures so this is awesome!!!
Hi 🙋 I'm 47. I am learning a lot from you, new to resin. Thank you x
It is beautiful!
I don’t hate it. Actually really like it. 👍❤️
Reminds me of a quilt I think it's absolutely beautiful, Clare I'm really glad you did this tutorial I love the outcome. I will definitely try this

LOVE the texture, Claire! It is SO AWESOME. 💕😍😊 The blue Jesmonite coloring works beautifully! 👍😊
My mind goes to applying a thin coat like you did with the resin on the washi stickers, brushing and smoothing out the napkin before dumping the rest on top. Of course the wrinkly texture looks like the faux crackle surfaces you see on a lot of home goods! I like it! 😁
I am definitly a team love it person.
I love that crinkle look... ❤
Team love it.
‘patchwork quilt design’ paper napkins would look so cool in this technique - pleeeeaaase do a video if you find some?
LOVE IT!!!!! And the tray color is perfect.
It does look like leather. I am in love with it!
I like the quilt like pattern.
LOVE IT it kinda reminds me of that silk look when you put clingfilm in resin . LOOKS AWESOME !!!!!
I saw someone do it with Aquacast and a napkin and it worked beautifully and smoothly.
One word- STUNNING🥰👌🏼
I put polycrylic down first on clear plastic, then I place napkin facing down. Let dry then peel and use in resin mold. No wrinkles
Claire, I love love love how this came out. I will definitely try this technique.
I really like the quilt effect very different!
This tray looks great and it makes me happy to look at it.
Other than the edges not being even because of shrinkage, I like it. I think with other designs, the creases would add to it.
Loving the texture...absolutely beautiful x
I don’t mind the texture. I wonder if you had out a resin topcoat on it if it would have made the wrinkles go away? But it turned out gorgeous! Thank you. 😊
I'm in team love it! 💜

I think a floral for a shabby chic style would look fabulous. I like the texture.
love the outcome and colors. just my 1 cent
Along with everyone else, I love this tray. The texture is awesome. I'm glad you didn't put resin on top.
It's different. I like different!😊
It's beautiful! I too like that texture. It reminds me of that quilted look. ❤
This is wonderfully beautiful! 🥰👌
I don't think the heat press was a bad idea due to the creases not being visible in the finished product. I am a texture kind of girl so this is right up my alley! I would have put a clear top coat on this! I think it's gorgeous myself
❤ Team LOVE IT! ❤
I love the crackle look. To me it adds that special punch to the piece.
❤ I really think that is a good idea. It turned out very nice even with the texture.
Team Love it! What a cool look. I'm definitely going to try it.
Love it, great texture and it really sets it off. I definitely don't see crushed fabric
Love it Love it Love it ❤
Very cleve Claire, love it!
Maybe try sealing the napkin first to prevent the wrinkles? Either way I think it looks amazing!
I'm team love it. The texture looks great
Love love love ❤️
leather texture vibes for sure. Love it! In fact I have a 'silver' vintage tray and the back is blue leather texture vinyl and I've always really liked it.

I like the texture a lot.
Love this claire, im not seeing the quilted look but am seeing the leather look or even crazed porcelain. X
I love the texture! Looks awesome! However, I put resin on everything!
😝
Thank you!
I really like the texture.
What a masterpiece!!
Definitely team love it 💙
