@@Billboggs Hello Bill. I'm writing you here as I don't see an email address published for you on this channel. By any chance, do you remember a guest named Edward Lawson in a 1988 episode of Time Out you hosted? He was a civil rights activist. He was very articulate and made his rounds in the late 80s/early 90s on the talk show circuit but then disappeared. I was wondering if you had any info on him.
Bill, get ready for a laughter-filled trip down memory lane as I share an unforgettable moment from days gone by! Ah, Bill, your upcoming memoir has got me all giddy with excitement! But you know what would make it even more delightful? Including that comical anecdote from the good old days (circa 1984) Picture this: you, a daring adventurer, stepping into the bustling Oscars Salt of the Sea restaurant in NYC. Now, imagine the scene: you're all settled at the bar, eagerly awaiting a favorite lunchtime delight, a scrumptious salmon. But oh, the irony! The salmon turns out to be slightly undercooked, not quite up to your discerning taste buds' standards. No worries, though, because you, being the polite gentleman that you are, decide to kindly ask the bartender to have the chef cook it a tad longer. And here's where the hilarity ensues! Little did anyone know, the chef was having the worst day ever. As soon as you made your request, and the bartender went into the kitchen, it triggered something in the chef's boiling pot of frustration. Before you knew it, a full-blown brawl erupted in the kitchen! Oh, the chaos! Pots, pans, and expletives were flying in every direction, shouting and commotion filling the air. But fear not, my friend, for the bartender emerged from this culinary clash like a true hero. No cuts, no bruises, and clutching in their victorious hands, a perfectly cooked piece of salmon! The chef, unfortunately, had to bid farewell to their position, but the memory of that epic showdown will forever be etched in the annals of Oscars Salt of the Sea. A tale of culinary calamity turned into a comical masterpiece. So, Bill, I hope you'll consider including this uproarious escapade in your memoir. It's a testament to what a fan of yours will endure, your sense of humor, wit, the triumph of the bartender, and the absolute absurdity that can unfold over a simple piece of fish.
@@Billboggs I have the first two Spike books! Your edgy sense of humor has always been a favorite of mine. The way you bring it to life through Spike's perspective keeps me eagerly waiting for what he'll say next. It's genuinely hilarious and I can't wait for the third book in the series.
When I was 10 years old in '72, Bill became my next door neighbor in Thomasville North Carolina. He was just beginning his show "Southern Exposure" on WGHP. He was a terrific guy, and us kids enjoyed playing with Spike the Wonder Dog.

Yes, after 3 1/2 days lol land lady was waiting for a good deal. Thought she was only going to pay 260.00. She ended up paying 1600.00 and got mad at us for having to pay it. We since moved out because all of the mold it created from the incident. She was the one that wanted to wait lol
The hour flew by, Bill. Thanks for all the fabulous stories. It was memorable.
