I just installed 9" Isudar subs in each of my Smart 451's, from Amazon for $85 each. With built in amps, they're much more capable than I would've imagined! In that the missus and I are under 6' tall, the subs found a great home right behind the driver's seats, firing straight into our backs haha. Great pairing with the PLZ Android head units and Kicker 2-way 6 1/2" speakers in the doors. Very happy with how everything turned out in the cars, all for less than $300 for each car!
Well done Jon and Pete a great video and great to see how easy it is to install the sub woofer love the night orange looks great with the orange and black
there was a subwoofer in the spare wheel space of a Citroen I had recently as a long term hire car. to say the sound was rubbish would be an understatement. if it had been my car I would have ripped it out, put decent pioneer or sony speakers in the doors, and put a proper spare wheel in the spare wheel well.
Firstly 10k - nice one- you’d make it! Everything getting a lot more professional video wise! Great work! Keep doing the sound jobs. Easy stuff for casuals to attempt.
I've just gone out and checked if I have a subwoofer which I do and it's fitted exactly as you've fitted yours! I'm not surprised I have it tbh whoever bought mine originally spec'd it right up, it has cruise control, heated leather seats, front fog lights, convertible,ac and flappy paddle gear selectors!
Nice one. I wondered about any wiring of the side airbags to disconnect? Or is this included in the blue plug you handled? Concerning the acquisition costs, 50 quid is about a third of what a used woofer currently costs in Germany, so a bargain. Cheers.
@JonCoupland Definitely needs flipping over. The sub is meant to be pointed up to the seat ie the speaker itself. It's pointed down to the car floor which was why you weren't impressed with the sound results! You will be losing all the sound it was intended for 😊👍🏼👌🏼
@@mr_omega_007 I absolutely agree - ive requested the fitting instructions from Sam our friend at Mercedes ... but genuinely - looking at other peoples - theirs are the same!

Sounds great!
I'm looking forward to the tweeter video. I've a set to install and can't find information anywhere on stock.
I had to speak to MB to get the information. Sadly not much of a video as it's plug in and away you go 👍
Tint the windows and windshield with ceramic tint
Could do!

Cheers Daniel ☺️

What a disappointment:(
It does look like it should be the other way up Jon, "dad" knows best hey.
Absolutely. I was surprised it didn't fit the other way - there may be better sound quality when we fit the dash tweeters (coming soon 😊)

Cheers and thanks for being with us

That's reassuring to hear!
Sounds good to me ... a lot better then the 450 thats for sure 😁
Ooh I don't know - we have the super duper audio pack in our 450
@@JonCoupland I take it you changed the original speakers then , Jon 🤔
@@Jaxs2 We did! It was a full dash out job - sadly we didn't film it as we weren't 'YoooToobe Legends' then
@JonCoupland 🫣 Could have done with seeing that aswell 😊
When you gonna sand the roof?
Will be a job for the spring I think

Remarkably there are no side airbags!
Nice upgrade! Maybe you need to tweak some of the levels to get it perfect.
Working on it!
I have the original stereo and under tray out of my Night Orange if you’re after one.
I blooming well am!
You gonna drop the i10 timing chain video ?
Part 1 will be coming this week 🙂
if ya dont try you never know Jon
Absolutely 😁
Did your dad forget his mic was on? 😄
At the beginning?! Yes 😂
It's 100% upside down Jon 😂😅
It looks it right! But absolutely it won't fit the other way

@@JonCouplandThen they all need to change theirs around also 😂😅😮You'll thank me later when you realise how much better it sounds 😊
And so we see where the little voices inside your head are coming from ....
You know it!
