My wife's favorite bands: Immortal, Mayhem, Cradle of Filth, and Type O. Hell, she ordered music from Hells Headbangers the year before we met, and that was in 2008. I only heard about Hells in the last 3 years!!
I’ve literally never seen one of those war metal guys, I feel like it’s a caricature of some people, even seeing archgoat a few years back everybody at the show seemed pretty normal. Could you show us some of your more rare 7’s in the collection?
I remember the black metal guys in the 90s that thought if you could understand anything the musicians were doing it was over produced. It should sound like someone screeching over a jet engine being fed a constant stream of people.
I’ve never met one of the kinds of war metal guys you’re talking about here. I’ve been into war metal since 01, when I first heard Black Witchery’s Desecration of the Holy Kingdom, and the vast majority of metalheads I met up until about 2016 didn’t even know what war metal was. Since then, there have been more people who like it, but I’ve never met anyone who pretends to only like war metal.
I like Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar to Golden Age of Grotesque... As a kid/teen I loved it and therefore it holds a certain kind off nostalgia. Weirdly discovered satanism/Nietzsche through Manson's book and black metal through that.
Awesome video thanks for the response, would love for you to show off some of your slayer vinyls and hear what your favourite albums and releases are from the band.
I just bought that one. Didn't have it on vinyl. They should have done the real cover and put something over it for stores. They did a custom sleeve with original artwork on it. I'd rather have the real cover though.

Another banger video! Absolutely love these. I was talking to someone about this just yesterday and figured I'd ask your opinion - What is it about Extreme Metal that makes the dorks want to relate to you? I've got all sorts of stories about people seeing a shirt I'm wearing and bringing up the obvious offenders: Slipknot, Disturbed, etc. Do fans of other genres of music deal with the same bullshit?!
A band's popularity is measured differently now than it was even 10 years ago, when people still bought albums on physical media. Now you have to include digital sales and streaming as well as views here on yt. (And of course there is how well attended the shows are). You're not seeing Cattle Decapitation have significant sales yet pull up any of their videos and the comments are bursting at the seams with how well liked and respected they are (I checked them out but they didn't do anything for me). I got the distinct impression they were one of the bands rising to the top of the current underground scene, sorta like how Pig Destroyer came out of nowhere more than a decade ago. Physical album sales were still the norm back then, though
Love the videos man! Been supporting Hells Headbangers since high school! When it comes to everything underground yall do it right. Will there be more Barbarian, and horror shirts coming to the label anytime soon ?

Some "Trve Kvlt" guy tried to tell me that Iron Maiden and Saxon are Classic Rock bands and not Metal, because they have Clean Singing and Guitar Solos. Слава Україні!
J-Dawg, your collection is obviously quite impressive, and clearly it's a source of great pride for you. I'll bet there's a fuck-ton of great rare shit in there. So, QUESTION: Do you have it cataloged anywhere, whether in a notebook or spreadsheet or Discogs? To tell the truth, it's nerdy as fuck, I know, but I dig using Discogs. My own collection of physical vinyl and CDs is just large enough and growing that I would and do forget what I own or that I own variants, multiple pressings, which ones, etc. It took me a long time to get it input when I started with Discogs a couple years back, but now that it's in there, keeping up with it is easy (and fun if you're a fucking nerd) when having a few cocktails and listening to new pickups. I find shit I forgot I own because I am an idiot. Also, as for your vinyl, what do you play it on either at home or in the warehouse? Do you just use standard turntable / amp / speakers / whatever's around, or do you go with high-end audiophile-type shit? It's a deep and expensive hole to go down... INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW.
The kvlt guys that are like "I only listen to bands that have 5.or less fans and only put out 1 demo recorded on a boom box in a cellar" are annoying as fuck.
yo jdawg off topic question but what ever happened to that interview you guys did with Kramer for the hells headbash 2 dvd? was it included or can i find that interview anywhere?
Question: What's the most poser label in your opinion? For me it's Earache, their new bands are absolutely horrible, and they have some of the laziest vinyl reissues of all time.
Roadrunner are a bunch of bandwagon posers. When death metal was getting big they signed as many bands as they could. Within a few years they dropped all the death metal and signed whatever crap was hot at the time.
Cattle Decapitation last reached the height of popularity when they put out controversial music videos featuring snuff level shit. I don't really listen to them anymore, but I don't remember them being bad.
That was me sending the Cattle Decapitation. They are my favorite band and have been since 2005. I can give you a few reasons for their popularity: 1. Their vocals are VERY unique. I do not know anyone who sounds like Travis Ryan 2. Their last 3 albums are absolute bangers. They got a new drummer ('07) and producer ('10-ish); both added to their sound 3. Their combo of brutal vocals and 'goblin' high vocals, and song structure that go from simple to technical, and range from grinding, to death/melodic/black/progressive metal. Their newest album has been blowing up in popularity. Me and Kanyon Bickel can talk you ear off about them! :)
I also found them around '05-'06. As a vocalist myself, Travis very much helped shape how I thought about vocals. Spot on on him being unique, he is killer. Also their new drummer is so fucking good. I rarely listen to an album only to the drums, but their last 3 are really good for that.
I don’t really like ICP that much, but I like some of the offshoot rappers and bands from that scene. A lot of Black Metal nowadays seems like people just trying to be evil and conveying that kind of image…not really about the music. I think it’s just mainly a product Norway is trying to sell. And I never heard of Death War Kult haha

Im a juggalo who also loves death metal, death grind, gore grind amd really most metal but still love ICPs original 6 joker cards as well as TWIZTID!!!
I'm 35, been listening to war metal since early 2000s. I love how raw and noisy it is, and I love the aesthetic of it, so its my main thing. That being said, my favourite band is Judas Priest.
