This week on GREY MARKET I take some customer calls, get a visit from a fan & customer for some repair work, and of course, have some fun calls with our friends @NicoLeonard & @grandcaliber9999.
Some amazing new watches get delivered to the office, I give our new sales guy Alex some feedback and go over his numbers for last month.
I also have a monthly meeting with my execs about our sales figures for last month, our goals, and how we're going to reach them. A constant battle in our office is Wholesale vs. Retail and things are about to get messy.

I’ve watched a bunch of watch sellers on RUclips and I have to say Roman is the most genuine by far. You can tell that he is just a good dude first and foremost, watches aside.

Then watching Michael, with less than a handful of watches, carefully sizing up those boxes. “...I’ll be back for those.”
59:23 Some good insight into the margins of the industry in this section. Based on the given data, "$1.1 mill" in wholesale revenue vs "$558k" in retail rev, "27%" overall margin, and only "$59k" more profit (assuming gross) on the wholesale side.
You can work that out to about 25% margin on the wholesale sales, and about 35% margin on the retail sales.
Good to know when you're negotiating with your dealer.

@@MoAli-wm4of they’re not bad guys. I’ve had a great experience with TPG buying. That fundraising thing was bogus, but I don’t think it was malicious in intent. They have phenomenal customer service and I can only recommend based on my experience.

A recurring theme I see with Roman is despite the fact that he runs a $100 million company, he has a sense of humility and doesn’t let his emotions get the better of him. You deal with a lot of egos in the luxury business and it takes a lot of composure to keep a cool head. Also, a lot of business schools fill your head with this idea that management is a philosophy. No, this guy gets his hands dirty and you can tell he understands every aspect of his business. If the shipping department was short staffed, he’d roll up his sleeves and work there if he had to. I hope he writes a book.
I’ve recently found this channel, and have instantly became addicted. Mainly bc Roman is like the most legit guy I’ve ever watched. Just the way he does business, the way he treats his employees/customers, and even the way he is a boss to his employees is one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. After you watch just 1 episode of this channel, you can see exactly why this guy is so successful. Just so beyond impressed.
Roman that was the best "week in the life" episode I had ever seen on ANY watch channel. Keep it up, love how you have give background info about your colleagues, and have overarching story lines, it makes it super interesting

Hi Roman: The Patek 5207P that recently sold at auction for $1MM you mention was a *piece unique* made by Patek for (and owned by) Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, former Sultan of Oman - with a unique one-off special all platinum bracelet.
