- Purveyors of punishing ’90s-style hardcore chisel their heavy sound with down-tuned 7-strings and contrast that with timely, lighter hues of delay and modulation.

In celebration of their sophomore release A Different Shade of Blue, the Kentuckian hardcore youngbloods nearly crumbled Grimey’s with their breakneck ways during a full-band, in-store performance. (Watch the full performance here-shockingly no records or employees were harmed.) The next night the quintet took over Nashville’s The End for a proper record-release show. And before that sold-out performance, PG’s Perry Bean stopped by for a post-soundcheck hang to cover all the Ibanez instruments, blaring tube heads, and select effects they use to create sweaty, chaotic pits.

I think the reason why he interrupts people is because he's probably extremely excited to be there and interview bands that he likes and loves his job
Still, he needs to be more self aware and chill.
@@GuitarGuy4647 so I’m not the only one going back to watch random knocked loose videos
@@GuitarGuy4647 i was going to disagree because i'm the same way when discussing anything music, but this is his job so yeah, he could probably tone it down a notch lol
@@imtrashatsoccer8373 Isaac Hale and Jesse Doreen are the reasons why I got a Swollen Pickle (that sounded wrong), but I keep coming back to their old rig rundowns from time to time.
@@imtrashatsoccer8373 me too I’ve been on a binge today
"yeah those sound-YEAH EXACTLY THEY'RE GREAT"
Only musicians will understand this vague sentence
It’s crazy how mainstream knocked loose has gotten out of nowhere it feels like haha, so weird to see them on a rig rundown!
crypto sauce on your profile pic 👀
I didnt know them until I went to A day to remember tour. They performed better then ADTR and won me over. Dont know how I didnt hear of them sooner.
not out of nowhere they earned it thru hard work
Well deserving for sure
Frfr, I love it for them, but I hate it for myself, finding them in 2014 and they were my very own treasure hahaha
"That is a beautiful hunk of wood, my dude."
PERRY. Keep it profesh, son.
I saw this and was waiting the whole time to hear that cringe, then 24 minutes in BAM! slammed me right in the gut.
Who cares lol
"it just makes thing sound stupid". what an amazing definition. what a beast of a sound these guys have
it's true, it sounds like an alien spacecraft or something
14:28 Issac and the Interviewer can't agree on the definition of the tone
Interviewer: Nasty
Isaac: Yeah, Disgusting
Interviewer: Nasty
Isaac: Ahh.. Disgusting
That was so damn funny 😂
Lmfao that's funny as shit
Lol
I felt heavy bromance in this rundown
hahaha!
Isaac seems like one of those guys who you can chat gear with for days. Super chill dude.
We need a Vein rig rundown!!!!
Tender Sky hahahahaha good luck
I need to know what pitch shifter they use😩
Jordan Bogdan it’s not the whammy, i remember seeing what it was last time i saw them live but i can’t remember. but i know it’s not digitech
@@jordanbogdan2329 it's the ehx pitchfork with an exp pedal!
fosho
Isaac stands there like he urgently needs a toilet
EXACTLY
Yeah, but no one wants to sit down on the toilets at The End, they're gross
Perry is a good conversationalist... I hear him being very casual and comfortable, the way friends talk. He keeps the conversation moving along, and he knows his stuff. I'll enjoy a Perry hosted rig rundown any day.
Wasn't expecting a Tosin Abasi namedrop in a Knocked Loose video but I'm into it
Haha😂 True! Feel you!
isaac’s tone is one of the greatest i’ve ever heard
Love hearing him talk about his gear, you can hear his passion and tell he loves the music he's playing.
Knocked loose has some of the sickest tone out there!
Exactly and you hear people bash the dimarzio fusion edge pick ups. Exactly what he uses stock.
Sick Rig!!
do a Counterparts Rig Rundown next Please!
I second this!
Pls
Uhhh
Pls 🥺🤌
Uppp
Happy that you got the bass guy this time..... awesome
7:37 "You can buy a used 5150 for like 500 bucks." Bro where, tell me fuckin where.
2008 was a hell of a time
“There’s a bunch of numbers”
Pretty much me when I try to tell people which Ibanez guitar I have too lol
The numbers, mason!
Felt like I got away from that with my rga8
He’s such a sound guy. I really liked this rig rundown
Isaac seems like such a friendly, normal dude compared to the sounds he makes with his hands and mouth 😂
wanna see code orange up in here
hate5six did a rig rundown
This video gives me the vibe of talking to a touring band outside a dingy venue and becoming mutuals by talking gear haha love this video
“It makes sense to have the bass player, play the bass drops.”
“Yeah it has the same words in it.” Hahah fuckin love these guys.
you got to do the wiggles next
Soldano SLO 100, 2 Maxon OD 808s, death metal pedal, 8 412 Mesa cabs, and an Ibanez 9 string with EMGs
Bogner uberschall 100watt, ENGL powerball 100watt, Mesa Rect cab 412 x 12, Boss OD200, Ibanez TS9 reissue, Ibanez Axion 8 String with Fishman Fluence Humbucker.
NX"Some-shit" is the most 'hardcore' description I can think of for a guitar haha. Perfect 👌.
I about cried 😂 so damn funny, and true!
Isaac's neck is on target to take on corpse grinders neck for a title fight...
Winners neck vs corey taylors neck
😂😂😂😂😱😱
Let the neck-off begin
Against corpse grinder?? Not a chance....
3yrs later and the 5150s are 1500$ and up lol glad I held onto mine
Got mine for 900 brand new 😼
@Jes.928 good job. Gotta buy quality. My grandpa bought a 65 GTO brand new for 6200bucks lol its a 80k plus car now
I love when bass players are into their shit!
Love seeing knocked loose
automatically does chuggy stink face at 15:54 :D Great INTERVIEW!!
''Im in charge of it.. i can do them whenever i want'' he sounds so proud! XD
I wasn't ready for the One King Down reference.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS
You guys read my mind, killer Rundown!
I like these guys vibe . Id jam with these guys. Just started listening to this band last year. I like the heavy low jams.
This dude is as stoked as I would be lmao
Love the guitars painting so much.
man i can't believe how much i feel like i got in common with these guys...love this shit
Swollen Pickle! I was wondering how they were getting that HM2 style sound on the new record.
isaac seems cool af, been listening to knocked loose since 2014, so glad theyve came this far
That chorus is pretty rad.
Do an updated TDWP rig rundown! Their new guitarist has a way different rig than Chris did!
Need thiis
I love these rig rundowns, please do a rundown for kublai khan
Hometown boys doing well. Shout out from Louisville, Ky!
Swollen pickle is probably my favorite pedal and I never expected to see it here. Such a fun time
That bass set up pretty cool
This sold so many Swollen Pickles
This band rips!!
I was at that in-store Grimey’s show they talked about at 8:22...I spent half the time worrying that someone was going to knock over one of the record displays that were just a few feet from the mosh pit. Definitely not the place I would expect to see that kind of show lol
Super interesting to see what they use. Also interesting to see their pedal setup to see how they get that nasty sound.
seeing knocked loose at the end was probably insane
That is a beautiful hunk of wood my dude
That's it, I'm getting a swollen pickle pedal. That thing is ridiculous!
Dudes got anxiety. I get it
Oooooo I’m excited for tomorrow
so glad to see some guys out of my home state!! proud of them
Where are they from???
@@daveyboy8907 louisville,ky!
@@noahnewhouse7795 thanks man,,I am close to you in southern Illinois..I come to shows in louisville,,Down and Corrosion of conformity most recently..I will look for these guys..Thanks
I'm glad I live in Lexington...so close to places they call home...
Finally!
This had to be nuts at the end
The vocalist went full angry Mickey Mouse
Well it's either Mickey mouse or cookie monster
What a gr8 dude.
Lol thinking of knocked loose playing the end is incomprehensible
Exactly
exactly
Have to get counterparts on this channel.
I desperately need a Ibanez Issac signature guitar.
Ibanez ATK basses are rad! I have one and it's such a nice neck to play.
It would be great to see a Silverstein one!
no one:
absolutely nobody:
Isaac: YEAH EXACTLY
Exactly!!!!
"i think it's an MX...some shit" amazing
kevin u just missed ur surveyor and wanted something that reminded you of it :P , those RGD RGA are so SEXY
exactly
You mentioned one king down .Any idea of what their rig consist of?Big fan of the god loves man kills tone .
Dude's pit sweat was INsane

16:10 spine tingling
Agreed with actives.i love bare knuckle passives tho lol.

"What do you use for your set up to do vocals live?"
"The vocal chords of an angry little girl"
Please do a rundown with code orange
Musicians speak a whole other language lol. 😜🎸🤘🏾
Counterparts!
“Exactly.”
How is Isaac connecting his loop station? - And just in generel how is he running his pedal. none of them has output jack connected? - Thanks in advance.
Does he actually run the st9 with all the settings at noon?
You're Fvkin Welcome 👍 15:53
Thank you
Isn’t the model number stamped on the back of the headstocks on those guit-boxes?
yeah. I got the same one and I can assure you it is
Yeah and tension’s there *he says after saying he drops a step lower on a seven string guitar*
Would love to see an update on KL now that their production is like 100x lmao
I hadn't played guitar for about 6 years. Never had a 7 string never even seen a multiscale IRL.
So I bought a Schecter C-7 MS. Why not get both? And honestly, after not playing so long, the guitar didn't feel any different until I got to the bridge. The angled bridge took a LONG time to get used to. To control the strings and such. But now, I'd NEVER play anything else.
Im in Drop A and my tension is like a standard tuned guitar. It's AMAZING
you like to cut your artists off in interviews....no hate. just thought i'd point that out.
Get spite on here
The homies in Flying High in the background.
Does anyone have a solid tutorial on how to use a jam man like Kevin does, am struggling to figure it out 😔
i barely understand this but its sick
PLEASE do Kublai Kahn TX
his guitar neck matches his neck
THICC
How is the maxon not plugged into anything but working ?
I HATE my active pickups on my 7 string. So much so that I find it hard to enjoy playing. Glad I'm not the only one.
What does the loop station goes into? Looks Like it’s Only both output that is plugged, but Where does they go to? - anyone knows?
probably just to the house
