One of the very few sitcoms that was a hit on the big screen, they didn't get away from the tv version very much that's why i think it worked, a classic of it's day.
The section from 5:58 to 7:04 is brilliant, I have no doubt that in reality the Home Guard would've taken on the Panzer Regiments & SS units if given the chance.
James beck and john le mesurier were goodlooking men. Sad to think that all the main cast are no longer with us except for lan lavender and frank williams who played the vicar
Is it just me that thinks that Pike's mother in the film looks about as old as he does? I don't know why they couldn't of stuck with the female who played her in the series, she did a much better job of it.
if im right... wasnt it the battle of britain that saved us from german invasion? lets be honest, id find it doubful we'd have survived a german invasion!
The invasion was never going to work. The RN was too powerful, it was a really last resort plan. Once Hitler turned to Russia, starving Britain to submission with submarines seemed more viable

Sadly, only a small part of the movie can be found here: parts 3, 5, & 6. But, a fun movie once you’ve watched the tv series.
I love the look that Fraser gives Wilson at 4.58.

Sadly he disappears from the film after this, as I remember. So they did "get rid of him" 😂

We've sadly lost Frank too now, Denise. He passed away in June 2022.

Germany might have had a superior army but they never had a superior air force or navy.
