    This lesson is a gem. My main problem is patience: I start to see something that I "want" to see to force an entry, too soon or too late. The trading window is the key, where the stock is alive. Many times I start to buy too late adding near a support while the stock slowing down: I wish it can jump up, I dont follow my logic anymore and I wait until my loss are huge. Many times I start to buy too soon, when there is no real confirmation of the upside movement, my stops are too far from my entries, there are spikes everywhere and the emas are far from entry point. I start to take stops and when the stock finds its support over the previous high, I've lost confidence and wait too much. You have helped me alot with those hints. Thanks

    Thanks for this video. I actually had a good day with MINM (got out too early though), but everything went south thereafter with the trades I took (FOMO, got out too early to stop loss). Got in with SNGX, shot to 1.9, didn't take profits, plummeted to $1 (held), then shot back up to $2. This was where I forsook everything I had been disciplined about - I didn't take profits and I held way too long (for hours; I now typically only hold stocks for a few minutes). Then it began a slow bleed to 90cents.

  • @TuxedoTradingJS
    @TuxedoTradingJS Месяц назад

    This is outstanding education. One slight problem I do see with this is that your strategy is a bit tough for beginners and I believe one reason you have more success is that you are trading pre-market when volume is low. Your share size is so big that you essentially become a market maker in those hours, at least to some extent. Your trades influence the price which makes this strategy easier to execute. Love the video and love your content, just something for newer traders to chew on.

      Getting onto your videos.
      I’ve recently bought into a Gas mining company which is at the final government approval.
      I believe this would be a Penny stock, i know you said to stay away.
      But it’s how I’ve gotten interested in trading.
      Anyways I do have a question.
      The Gas well which we are awaiting final approval on is estimated to hold $63 billion dollars of gas.
      I read I a forum that if all goes to plan that the share price must be valued according to the Asset.
      I’m wondering what your take on that is, and secondly,
      if the value is indeed $63 billlion. What would be the share price.
      It’s currently $.044.
      BPH. ASX
      I’m curious what your charts would indicate.
      I’ve had my fist candle lesson in your vid’s.

    Hi Ross. Thank you for the videos.
    General question - If you can, is it better as a beginner trader to open an account with $25k+ but then just trade with $500 of it as though it’s a small account, thereby overcoming the PDT rule, high commissions etc. while only risking a small sum? Is there any reason this wouldn't work? Obviously this assumes a level of discipline and sticking to $500...Many thanks

    • @ICPolyman
      @ICPolyman Год назад +1

      That is exactly what I am doing, only $25k + $2k ... The $2k is my capital and I never dip into the $25k to avoid PDT. I have consistently been able to increase my capital by 3% or more per day with the exception of the 21st and 22nd of November. Those were pretty bad days, only because I broke my own rules and I kept getting in too late. My average daily gain on my capital for the month of November was 7% and I am well above the losses I took on the 21st and 22nd. ... and as Ross always says "My results are not typical". I can't stress enough ... Keep a spreadsheet so you can track your profits and losses. Make use of VWAP, E9, E20, and E200

    Ross - Excellent on the reading of this stock. I'm a beginner trader in the retailed market. I was inspired by your videos in this business and choose this as a side hustle that could potentially a main part of income. But I actually loose 3k in shorting this stock MINM, my biggest lose to date. I had difficulty in judging when to cover when going further into the red (when to stop out). Just didn't know when to actually press the cover button. As a beginner trader, judgement of the trades can be very clouded when it not going our way (when to get out). I have made $1100, then $300, $200 the previous days, then slam into 3k loss day. Any tips on how to sustain winning and minimize loss during actual trading when there is such high volume, and the tape is all over the place.

      So as a beginner trade, I've noticed the biggest hurdles to overcome is Emotions and Risk management. It was the same share size as before with the 3x previous green days. Plan was to have more than 50% accuracy and take small profits out of the table. Emotion got involved and I was thinking it will break and the stock will reverse. It never happened. Didn't know when to cover, as the minutes pass in the minute chart. I was thinking @ $1000 in the red, but I choose to carry on and eventually lost more money.

    ??So confused here. Do you not use indicators? I use the 5min to 30 min chart for day trading with 5/13/48 ema cross with a 200ma. The 5 crosses above13 that's the first sign of a rise, the 200 ma was below the play a second sign, then the 13x(crosses)48 that's when you enter, all still above 200ma (above 200ma is bullish) and you exit when a candle comes down and touches the 48EMA. I like the scanner idea, and float idea. I went back to this play and it would have worked out perfectly.

    This was a really great video. What I walked away from this thinking is that I'm not too worried about making a ton of money right now just getting into this. I just want to get a pattern down get my metrics and figure out what I am really doing. Small amounts fine now. Is this a wrong mind set?

    This is so spot on what ive seen and done on a 200% move and why i still lose money. I have to fit in better the integration of the minutiae in small fundamentals to the bigger picture. I just have to put it all together and relate it back to the “business” of stocks and business in general. Ross you’re an amazing teacher, make that Professor!!!

      Cold market wait for the green strength after dip; hot market, potential for dip trades. But allbeit keep in mind the entirety of the setup and its evolution from your prior prognoses.

    Be aware: There are many other strategies that are MUCH less riskier compared to Ross' very questionable "candle breakouts" and trend support trendlines that can be broken at anytime.
    I tried this and lost quite a bit of money.
    Buying bottoms on solid HORIZONTAL supporr lines, or EMAs on hourly/daily charts, at way oversold levels, is much much safer

    The unfortunate thing about think or swim is that relVol doesn’t work during premarket so the 4h time frame would have to be a substitute.

      Many of the stocks Ross trades have news or some sort of catalyst for the move. This is something Ross looks for typically.

      The exchanges can pause or halt trading on a security, and they did that today. They were likely concerned by how much the stock was up on no news.

    13:41 you say that you have to addapet to a hot market by lowering size, but you start of in the begining of the video by saying you have to increse size when the market is hot, what is it? to me it makes more sens to increase size, yes risk is higher but reward is also much higher

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  Год назад +1

      So yes I understand, decrease share size to manage risk, but if your doing well and metrics support it, increasing relative to what your risk can handle. The most important thing is to remember that when the market is hot, you can advertently be taking a lot more risk then you may realize.
