Excellent video! I used the video exclusively to install my Supertop Ultra on my '22 4xe and just paused after each section. It was spot on and completed it in under 3.5 hours w/o help. The hardest part was trying not to strip every single screw while attaching the fabric to the bows. Each screw needed a tremendous amount of pressure to prevent stripping. Great video!
Great video very detailed, but if you can afford it have it installed by the company. During the process I would have paid double the fee just to hand it over. It took me Three solid afternoons to do the install. End result…it looks great & will use our Jeep even more now
Great video! Curious as to how labor intensive it would be to switch from this top back to a hard top for the winter months. Can the entire top be removed easily once folded all the way down? And which components need to be removed in order to run a hardtop? (door surrounds/guide rails/tailgate bar retainers, ect.)
Thanks, Brandon! It would take less than an hour to remove the Supertop Ultra in preparation for a hard top installation. All components would have to be removed, but the majority of the top is removed in one piece once it is folded down to the cargo area.
@@BestopTeam It would be awesome if you did a video on how to remove (and store) for hard top installation. Great product. It's my favorite new addition!
Shawn C following. I had my top installed today and that’s exactly what I was looking for also. This is my summer top and need to switch back for winter.
That install was not 4 hrs but 3 afternoons including the hardtop removal. Was fairly easy except for that back window that did not want to clip in. pain in the a$$. I guess because it’s new and needs to be stretched out. I got it in but I had to aggressive with it. Looks good though, let’s see when I open if it will be a pain.
Looks like the part changed at 10:05. There are not 3 threaded studs on the lift assist assembly. There are 2 bolts that attach it, but it is a bit unclear as to which bolt to use.
I recently installed this top and today is the first day I took it all the way down out with the family. Now I can’t get it to lock back in the up position - both all the way or on the canopy position. I’ve tried messing with the levers and other things for hours now. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
@@markihwilliams on another forum I had a guy respond that actually installs these for a living. He said because the top was so new that it just hadn’t stretched enough yet and as a result I wasn’t throwing it back up hard enough. Worked like a charm. Just toss it back up hard and that should make it catch and do the trick. Hope this helps.
This would be great. I want to know what is involved to get my hard top back on before I purchase the ultra. The NX glides look pretty easy to uninstall, but also a little more cumbersome to flip back on your own.
Did they ever reply to your request for a removal of softtop video? I just installed one on a 2018 fir summer, yet would love to see an "uninstall softtop video".
good video, easy install. Rear center window feels an inch or so too short. Can only get one side tucked in at a time. Install done in sunny 85F weather. Trying customer service in the am for advice.
I had the same issue. I was able to get both sides but it was a hell of a time and I'm concerned about taking it out when I want to put the top completely down. I also could not get one of the underside flaps in the rear window to go under. I think it's still safe from the elements but I want it done right! Just curious what they told you before I reach out to them? Thanks!
Awesome video! Deffinetly gave me a better idea how my trektop ultra will go. Is that video coming out soon? Regardless this has made the instructions seem so much easier!
Thanks, Jonathan! I have the JL Trektop Ultra installation video at the top of my list to shoot once we can return to our office. I hope to have it available by the end of May.
Bestop I’d just say that really you just need to watch this super top ultra and that’s it for the trektop ultra. Really happy with how it’s come out. Only had one bolt that the bit wouldn’t fit into so had to use a torx bit instead.
Just did my install...pretty easy EXCEPT those little screws you attach the fabric with...the heads are too shallow and soft and the holes were very tight...ended up stripping the heads on 2 of them
The mopar kit just seems to much easier to install and remove than this kit. The top on the Mopar Kit comes as one piece instead of you having the assemble all the various parts that move around. And the only tools you need is the kit I already got for everything else on the jeep.
@@elvisdavis215 The top for the JK is a lot easier. It's also easier to remove and reinstall for the next season. I don't like this one. Kinda sorry I didn't get the Mopar one.
Hey Shawn, I had to ask our design team about this as I was unsure also. Those holes are irrelevant to the JL Supertop Ultra. This strap is also used in OE tops produced for Jeep. The holes are used to mount that strap to the lift assist assembly. Thanks!
What impeccable timing for that question, Scott! I just posted the installation video for the JL Trektop Ultra at the following link: ruclips.net/video/kuwRvBmYO_I/видео.html
I called your customer service line and spoke with Selina.....WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! So much that I now want to return the top and will order from somewhere else.

Same for mine. They corrected the material list and the figures in the instructions but not the written portion.
IS there an operation video? OR instructions somwhere? I had mine installed and can't find instructions on how to put it up and down.
I had mine installed too. And would like instructions

Can I use this video for the same top for a 2014 Jeep?
No, the 2014 does not have the slide trac this one does. there should be videos out there for the 2014 thou.

What is the purpose of the plastic piece with the pre-drilled holes on the tie down shown at 10:39? Is that supposed to be attached to something?
