Black ops 6 is rumoured to be like b02 to a degree or even black ops 1 where it jumps around time/eras. This would make semse since the Gulf war really only spanned a year.
And leaks say it's going to be like cold war with a hub area and slight open world, thought it still contains "linear classic missions you expect"

@@ayaannazir7308 No. Actually I think I played the first one a long time ago maybe. I don't know it's hard to keep track of them all one comes out every year and I stopped playing after the 3rd Modern Warfare I think.
Black Ops has one of the best stories in Call of Duty. It explores the Cold War from the 1960s right down to the 1980s. It would be interesting to see what is played out in Golf War.

@@KillTheLux Black Ops 6 is rumoured to be a direct sequel to Black Ops II, it will probably explore more stories with Frank Woods post-1990. We already know his legs got crippled by Raul Menendez since he has a few men in the CIA working for him. (Russell Adler)

Rumours have been for a while that it is going to be set during the 1991 Gulf war and one of the big possible story points was going to be about the SAS operations locating and destroying scud missiles

Modern Warfare III (2023) flopped because of the open world and didn't capture the cinematic feel of the previous series. It was trying to follow Ghost Recon: Wildlands and it failed miserably.
agreed cod is supposed to be linear and open world ruins it.

There have been references to things found in game files and in teasers that they've released over the last couple years that have referenced things much past 1991 so the leading theory is that the game is going to be similar to Black ops 2 where the timeline is set in a range of time periods between 1991 and 2003. Hence why 9/11 is believed to be in the game.

Agreed: always love me a COD Campaign... since (original) Modern Warfare 2, they have a way of playing like a Hollywood movie. Some better than others, but the campaign is why I buy the games, not the online play.
