Proud Appalachian here, the sheer amount of firearms in my region alone is mind boggling. Every house on my street has at bare minimum 10 firearms per household and I know every single one of them. We all know the local terrain better than anyone, wilderness and all which would be a massive advantage against an invading force. Not to mention we source and produce most our own food.. no matter where you are self reliance is a priceless skill to possess. Even when there are no disasters, invasions, epidemics, etc it will still greatly benefit you and your family.

Asheville here. It's gone to Hell in a hand basket, and spreading it's tentacles into Black Mountain, Hendersonville, and Marshall, with eyes on Haywood & McDowell. As a "sanctuary city" I think Asheville is helping pave the way for sleeper cells to form. Maybe I'm paranoid, but from what I've seen these past few years, maybe not. I moved to Mills River only to discover what's called the Asheville Regional Housing Agreement. It gives Asheville powers to dictate new housing developments in Madison, Henderson, and Transylvania counties. They formed a board with Asheville holding 6 of 12 seats. These more conservative counties have been sold out in order to catch Asheville/Buncombe Co.'s overflow. People flock to Asheville because it is a sanctuary city & county with a sanctuary sheriff, and rolls out the red carpet for homeless junkies - the majority of which are from nowhere near NC. Asheville can't fart without hiring a consultant from San Francisco telling them how. Because San Fran Cisco has done such a fabulous job themselves (sarc). That regional housing agreement is renewable every 3 years, yet regardless of who is voted in, it keeps getting renewed. Asheville wants gov. housing projects dotted all over every rural and suburban area possible to house the 3rd world invaders flooding over our border. I have sympathy for the poor, just not illegal ones and ZERO sympathy for anyone imported that hates America. Enemies foreign and domestic! By the way, I hope you like Sheriff Harwood. He is my cousin. Be well, neighbor.@@inglebear84

I mean, I'm advocating like millions of other Americans that we ban guns. And it's suspecting with Kamala Harris, we shall have our goal achieved by 2030. This is not disarming the United States.
This is a progressive agenda to show the world we are willing to disarm ourselves for world peace and racial equity. Wars foment racism. And Americans are slavers too. America has been full of oppressors of the blacks for so long I feel like guns themselves only help perpetuate the stereotypes. Look at Europe, they are completely fine and they do not permit their citizens to arm themselves, that only asks for rampant gun crime! The USA is the most largest gun crime in the entire world!
Yes I am a Californian. But I live in New York now. But united? I don't know if you know but plenty of our government are collaborators or friends of Chinese communists, mafia, or shady business deals with foreign countries. But this corruption will be fixed, Kamala told us it will be resolved.
Vote blue no matter what. No matter the cost. We will be better people. Transphobia, sexism, and racism will be resolved by 2028. Kamala promised, as did the Democratic Party. We will have peace, and that requires the defeat of the Republicans and Conservatives. Because the United States is invincible, we just need to clean the house of the domestic enemy first. This requires sacrifices on the border policy. We need votes, and we must win. We cannot let the United States become fascist! Already the Nazis infiltrate the schools and the hospitals! Taking no consideration of a person's mental state! The minority, deserve to be heard.
We will be united, and by 2028, we will truly be free.

There are a lot of OEF and OIF vets out there with far greater war experiences than Vietnam vets ever had. Because most of us had between 1-8 deployments in to war zones with 2-3 as the average, we are far more effective war fighters of those of us that exist versus a Vietnam vet. I’m on the older side of that group at 51, but there are many still around in their early 30s. We all are armed or know where to get it and arm up. The best thing about old vets is that they have lots of weapons to draw from. Back in 1928, someone in the US gov't asked, "How long would it take to transport a battallion from New York to California?" so the Secretary of War ordered a battalion to mobilize and go across the country, just to see. It took months because they kept getting stuck in the mud on the mostly dirt roads in rural areas. They had to get local farmers with their mules and horses to help the Army's mules and horses to pull trucks out. Sometimes it took a whole day to go half a mile. So they decided the US needed a highway system. Now the highway system helps move commercial traffic and recreational traffic as well as day to day traffic, which helped boost the US economy across the board.
Where I live, half the kids are on a skeet shooting team. If anyone was to be stupid enough to go Red Dawn with paratroopers, the shotgun coaches would be like, "Pull!" :) The average US citizen is a better shot than the average trained soldier or cop because they shoot for fun instead of shooting because their job requires it and they're paying for their own ammo so they make the shots count.

You are grossly over estimating their abilities. I was in the Marines for 8 years, I assure you the average Marine will out shoot the average American every day of the week. Shooting clay targets with shotguns is a great starting point. But hitting targets at 300 and 500 yards with iron sites is a completely different level of skill. Then you are forgetting the millions of Americans who live in cities and never hunt or shoot at all. That really drags down the average skill level.

Too, they are being offered a chance for free military training and honorary citizenship if they join the military-- without any declaration of loyalty to the Constitution, the Flag, our laws or moral codes. Vietnam was an occupation and occupations never work. We lost for the same reason the British lost all their territory. Unless you are prepared to commit an act of genocide not seen since the 1490's, then you will not win an occupation.
The war on drugs was not an actual war as much as it was a way to disenfranchise black communities. So, the objectives for that "war" were definitely met. The unforeseen consequences, now, being that we can't stop the money train behind the drugs, and now they're invading all poor rural and inner city communities, with all ethnicities and races involved.
Korea wasn't a total loss, merely a stalemate that is technically still at war but, for the most part, active hostilities have stopped. And South Korea has a strong democratic government.
The war on terror was an idiotic idea to start with. Terrorism is an idea that is carried out through hostile and violent acts. To wage war on an idea with no clear enemies will forever and always be the biggest blunder the US ever made after 9/11. A blunder that lasted 20+ years. But on the same token, they couldn't wage war against a country when the act was committed by a terror organization. So, it was forever and always going to be an unwinnable war. Waging war on terrorism is like waging war on freedom. It just doesn't work. The objectives shifted once they got there and the entire region was set ablaze, creating avenues for even more violence and terrorism to take hold.
America's problem is it's hubris. It thinks it can win anything with enough guns and force. Most of the time it fails.
However, none of these wars were fought on American soil. If an invasion occurred here, the enemy would find themselves quickly swarmed, outgunned, out-manned, in hostile terrain sandwiched between mountain ranges that run north/south with no way out. American citizens are hungry for war and our military leaders would waste no time making sure it's populous was well trained, guarded, and equipped with the tools it needs to not just survive, but thrive.

The sky was blue and cloudless but the copter came and hovered directly over my truck (my dog went crazy). But you could not see any helicopter at all! I panicked for a few seconds until I remembered reading about the military experimenting with cloaking technology. Slowly, this “invisible” helicopter flew off in another direction-but you could still only see clear blue skies. Texas are very well known to have a lot of the same characteristics. People in the South are also ready for a good fight too. You would just hear Lynard Skynard before being unmade. There's more registered weapons in Alabama alone than in most countries. Registered weapons... Places like Northern California are a bunch of country like boys too. And we are all paying for our own ammo, and dealing with all sorts of obstacles to procuring ammo. I don’t think I’m over the top on firearms, either. I have one shotgun, and 6 rifles, and 10 handguns. Again, I think I’m fairly average in that count. I also reload my ammo, and even cast my own bullets. Working at a range, I have unlimited access to used brass. I’m also a a veteran of being an officer in the US Army and the US Air Force. So, lots of free training there. All our near-peer enemies are not capable of the kind of power projection needed. China has spent the better part of the last 50 years concentrating on Taiwan. You can pretty much cross the Taiwan Strait in RHIBs. The Russians have always been more concerned with the percieved enemies on their borders. In fact, the actual role of the Cold War era Russian Navy was largely sacrificial. They were intended for all those years to die slowing down the stream of personnel, and, supplies that would be sent to Europe in the event of a Warsaw Pact invasion.
