One important rule change that was made between the 1st and 2nd Edition: When determining the winner of a particular voter, the player with a mark on that voter breaks ties. If multiple players have a mark, Influence breaks ties.
To those asking about what you can do on your turn: Take ONE Fast Action (optional) Then choose one of the following: 1. Place a Mage 2. Use a card that says "Action" (Spell, Supporter, or Vault) 3. Take a Bell Tower Card
Trey Chambers Thank you. That wasn't very clear in the video. I was unsure if I was able to perform more than one main action in a single turn (under normal circumstances at least... I'm sure there are game effects that allow you to do more than one). ***** Rodney, maybe you could add an annotation clarifying this when you explain the errands phase?
Thanks for making this video, Rodney. I had to watch it twice but I think I got it now. They game seems pretty involved at first. I can't wait to give this one a try.
Hi Rodney, thanks for the tutorial. Your videos are the best way to learn a new boardgame. I appreciate the clear, concise and professional language and delivery, with no fluff or nonsense. I'd like to clarify: if when you buy/upgrade spells, the first token slot should always be filled with Intelligence Tokens, and all upgrades should be Wisdom Tokens, is this correct? Also, Merit Badges, do they refresh back to "unused' at the end of the turn?
Hey Erwin, I believe each slot shows an image of the kind of tokens that are placed, but if my memory is correct, you have it right. Merit Badges refresh every round just like Spells, so you will be able to use each Merit you possess once per round.
Question: At 21:37 when you showed a close up of the Vault room tile, at the top it said "When this room resolves, reveal the top 3 cards of the Vault Deck." Does this happen before or after any players with mages in the room choose their cards? Or do you not reveal new vault cards at the start of a round?
The way this works, is you reveal the top 3 Vault cards from the deck, and then you resolve the slots, and the players pick from these 3, freshly revealed Vault cards (not from the Tableau).
Navel Warfare Some rooms may let you "draft" from this tableau. In that case you would get the card for free. But for the most part, yes, the Vault cards in the tableau you buy for gold.
Great video Rodney. Quick question: I know you're limited to two of each mage type, but are you also limited to the number of mage that can be in spots on the waiting room?
Hey, Rodney. Are you going to show the expansion? [Edit: OK, you said you're not... that's what I get for posting before the video ends.] I picked this full game with the Pixel Tactics kickstarter, now waiting for delivery.
Ok first an easy question: how many players does this support? Also, I've watch the video a couple of times, but I'm still a little confused about some of the aspects of the game. Any chance of a playthrough coming soon?
The game is for 2-5 players (I always announce the player count at the very start of my videos :) ). No play through of this game, but a play through will be coming for the next game we feature. Just a matter of the schedule being a bit backed up at this point.
Good question. I'm not near my rule book right now (travelling), but you might be able to get an answer over at board game geek if you're willing to try there as well. Sorry I couldn't offer better assistance.
Hello Rodney, everyone I played my first game a few days back and we had a question that the rule book did not clarify; Is the merit token(s) refresh during the beginning of the next round? Or the only way to have more than one is to get it from the IP board? Also if i lose IP and i go below the marker on the board i loose one token, so the opposite works the same way? ie if i loose one then gain points to get up to the market i will get one? Thanks Alex

Great! Awesome, thanks Rodney. More power to your channel!
Who is the artist on this game? It looks like Ian Gibson.
The box indicates "Art by Nokomento & Jennifer Easley"
Thanks to Pete for the assist!

Trey Chambers Well that takes care of that! Thanks to both you and Rodney.
Great video Rodney.

Yes. You can't have more than 7 mages.

Thank you for the fantastic overview! Are mages who are placed during a Fast Action always deprived of their special powers?

Yes, merit tokens refresh at the end of a round. And yes, you gain tokens when you go back up the track.
don't hesitate? why would anyone hesitate? this is Internet after all :)
