Had a 71 when I was 15 yrs old...302 automatic, bench seat column shift. Wanted to tubb it. Put a big block with a tunnel ram in it.. but life got in the way...man I miss that car! Thanks for the memories!!
The Mercury cousin to my 1970 Ford XL (they weren't formally called Galaxie XLs that year, but that's what they were of course). I swapped my 390 for a 428, since same externally.
Hello Art! Congrats on getting the Montego to NY, I thought you were kidding me when you asked me if I thought it could make the drive! I'm amazed at how those Coopers handle the snow. Great video my friend and I hope you will always enjoy that car. Peace.
@@ThrottleStopRacing I like the grille too and the triple taillights. I have a 70 Cyclone Spoiler missing all that stuff. Car looks to be in pretty good shape.
So weird, I was on FB marketplace and saw this car and wanted to learn more about Montego’s... Searched for montego’s and it’s the same fucking car from FB lol what a coincidence
Cool car, man, thanks for the video. im in my 50s and i still hate ratrods for the most part, but more and more im digging the "worn" look on musclecars like yours. The patina look is meant for musclecars imo. A real musclecar to me is an original surviver with tasteful upgrades allowed. Hell- lots of those beasts were kind of ugly so its perfect really.

My first car was a 1970 XL. Mine came with a 351 Windsor and an Fmx automatic. It was very reliable and comfortable.
We had a 70 Torino when i was a kid. Great car!
That cleveland is gotta sound pretty at about 4500 rpm. Nice ride!
I had a 71 Ford LTD 2 door coupe, 351 Windsor, one of the best cars I ever owned! It got 0ver 20 MPG out on the highway, and rode very nice!
This beast does not get that mileage!
Always loved the 70-71 Montego and ther Marauder! Happy to see that you got rid of that vinyl top!

What can we say but we try. I have been liking the truck build.

Sorry I missed your comment. I think they all have a look to them, just different at times. I take function over form sometimes.
Love that car
Man that’s heavy duty cold!
If he only knew the Torino's GT fastback tailgate and quarter end caps would fit that car
id drive it just like that. purrrrrrty
Sick car!
Pretty decent looking car, really. I can't tell if it's Ford counterpart is a Maverick or a Torino. Or something else maybe?
Torino.
Haha!! You look like the kid from the movie Christine 👍👍👍👍👍
Espectacular
Neat car to fix up!
Hell Yeah.
Nice healthy V8 sound
Isn't that a Cyclone or MX package?
No, it is a Montego, the front looks like it.
It’s not so bad! I like it.
Is the car still available and if so is there any way to get in contact with the owner?
Yes, on my web site (not U-Tube) Lever family racing is contact information
