You missed that part about draining the oil. I would have liked to have known where the oil screw is. Thanks for the other information. Good job.

"Tighten the", oil filter, in this case. I love these statements. Tightening the oil filter with the oil filter wrench is not generally recommended, since there is no way to measure its tightness. General consensus, at least in the past, I am not sure if it's any different these days on newer cars, is three quarters of a turn after the seal contacts the engine. So if you can't get enough leverage to tighten the filter by hand then you could use the oil filter wrench. Do not utilize the wrench until the seal on the filter has come into contact with the engine block. In other words ALWAYS hand tighten the filter until the seal on the filter has come into contact with the engine block.

I have an Edge, with the same engine. I have done Five Oil Changes, there is no need to pull the Upper Engine Cover. Also I don’t reinstall the Lower Engine Cover till the refill, running the Engine for a few minutes, shut it off and check for oil leaks. I highly recommend the Lisle 63600 Oil filter tool, for removing the Oil Filter.

So does all the engines oil drain from the filter? Or did you just skip the oil drain plug part 😏

I don't see any reason to remove the top engine cover. I find the location of the oil filter to be very annoying and difficult to reach. You fail to mention that oil will be leaking out when you remove the old filter so you need a flat pan to catch that spillage. Also the torx screw-points easily strip out. I don't know what the best fix is for that problem.
