I’m happy you made this video, I have a 10 month old and was having a hard time balancing everything (work, home, and self) and last week I woke up twice at 4am to work out and I felt amazing and just so happy that I did something for myself on those days. Now just got to make it a habit!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! I am in the same exact boat, working mom with 2 toddlers and I don’t feel like I have enough “me time”. I was staying up late to try to get that alone time. But it’s definitely more productive to do it in the morning. And plus I get an added boost of energy with a morning workout. Thanks so much for your videos!

I love the transparency..this really helps me. I get up early lay there until 7am get my 8year old on the bus..then sleep til 12pm eat lunch..then try to push and do house work and irritated with my self that I didn't do stuff earlier. My daughter gets home at 3pm then I'm scrambling trying to keep her entertained, cook ,shower ect. Then by the time my husband comes home I'm irritated and tired. He gets up at 4am leaves by 5 30am then I get up at 7am. I'm a stay at home mom and now I'm 15weeks pregnant. I got some energy back but I still focus on sleep thru the day cause I'm the last to go bed and I stay up til bout 2 30am..I'm gonna try to get things done in the morning and see if this helps me so I'm not trying to do things last minute.

I absolutely love this video. I came across your channel today and I'm hooked! I get up at 5:00 a.m. for the same reasons. 'Me time'. The only difference is my kids are grown up and have moved out many yrs ago, (just me & my husband home), but I still want that time to focus on myself. I do my reading and a workout before getting ready for work, (I work in a seniors residence). You are an inspiration and I'm very thankful I found your channel :-)

This is so helpful. I have a very similar setup-two kids and a wfh job with pretty structured hours. Watching this made me realize I’m always trying to rush around at night and have me time but it’s never enough. My son too goes to bed on the later side. And don’t get me started on the mornings. My hubs goes in to work too but stays to help and it’s still crazy. I don’t think I could do 4:30 but I can definitely try for earlier. Thanks for posting. Definitely helps me to feel solidarity. Wfh and parenting with a spouse who goes in can be so isolating.

I have very few moments to myself too and yes you’re absolutely correct, it is not enough. We should not feel ashamed about it because there are more good days than bad days. Waking up earlier does help me throughout the day with a positive headspace just like you said…hard part for me is trying to get sleep since my 20 month old still wakes up like a newborn. Thanks for this video, it was much needed and inspiring for me to wake up earlier. ❤

Sleep goes in cycles. Lets say stage 1-4 and REM sleep. We cant effect these cycles but there are some basic rules. If you are very tired body/bain goes faster to deep sleep (which is the most recovering) and REM part of the cycle gets longer towards the morning/wake time. We "see" dreams also in other stages than REM (before we thought we see dreams only in REM sleep). No one knows why we see dreams but certainly your wake hours feelings/mood/stress etc may have an effect on them.
