Pro tip: as someone who had a blown C6Z and later blown (up) C6Z. You can do the crankshaft pinning without dropping the cradle using a longer drill bit. Check out the ECS supercharger instructions. Also please run that puppy on E85 or 100+ oct fuel. Its not a matter of if but rather when on these boosted LS7s
I would never go boosted ls7, those walls are so thin for 100more hp just do heads and cam it’s around the same price and you fix the valve dropping issue

The best part about the c6 z06 is the naturally aspirated engine. Superchargers are awesome, but I think this was a bad move. You could easily make 550+whp with a “budget friendly” heads and cam package.

I have an 09 E85 build it puts down 1100rwhp. The amount of work involved not only to the moto but to the tranny, diff, torque tube, axels was crazy. But these LS7 motors where never designed to handle boost and their heads are proven to suck valves. American Heritage Performance did my build, great bunch of guys. Love the c6 z06.
It’s happened to a LOT of owners. My balancer started wobbling at 28k miles all stock and the ls7 valve drop issue is well documented. Definitely NOT a myth lol.
The supercharger doesn't change the geometry of the engine. Meaning it will not cause head wear or valves to drop. Valves dropping has everything to do with the machining and valve guide wear. Not a supercharger.
@@averyr18 this particular supercharger is trash, will barely add power and definitely not worth it for the moneys. Better off with a good set of heads, cam, fbo's, intake and a good tune. Can easily get into the 600's on a cool budget.

Supercharger is definitely the most cost effective thing, but I wish you guys did a heads cam package. You could still achieve 550whp with a mild heads cam setup.
You can’t go over 700 whp with the stock pistions and you can get close to that with a good heads and cam intake package and it will be faster power for power than the boosted set up. You also need to to replace the valve stem seats or the valves will drop destroying the engine .
A street able HCI c6z isn't making nowhere near 700, unless you don't mind never being able to drive through traffic without surging your brains out. Most hci ls7's make 570-620.

For the love of God install longer valve guides, solid exhaust valves, roller tip rockers and change the rods and pistons. This engine is beyond a time bomb.

CA considers heads/cam to be part of the exhaust/emissions system which cannot be modified unless it’s with CARB EO’d parts. To my knowledge there isn’t a heads/cam package with an EO#. Also, since they’re a shop in CA building a car (so publicly) they can get a huge fine for breaking CARB rules. You’ll notice a LOT of CA based channels are focusing more on aesthetic mods over engine stuff for street cars because of those gnarly fines. Way she goes.
Torque spec for the harmonic balancer is 250 ft/lbs lol. I just replaced my wobbly one with a Summit balancer. Good call pinning it. Also, you REALLY need to fix those heads. Supercharger with the stock ls7 valve train is a guaranteed failure.
As someone like me who owns a 2008 Zo6 i’ve got probably 134,000 miles on it and the manual transmission that ate itself up after the nylon that holds the bearings together inside the transmission let go and let the bearings loose inside last second and fourth gear not good don’t know why GM uses nylon to hold the bearings together myself but anyway I love my car damn fast specially on straightaways plan on keeping it After I get the transmission and Transaxle assembly fixed. So everybody with a manual transmission should check them to make sure those nylon bearings are holding up somewhere down the road just saying. my opinion only

I suspect the choice to go FI was related moreso to CA emissions. Running that count chopula cam with long tubes is sweet but wont pass smog easily.

My LS3 dropped a valve in cylinder 7 two weeks ago. Getting heads rebuilt with BTR parts and also ported and polished. Shot happens
