  • Underground Gold Mining with a Metal Detector! | Hard Rock and Australian Alluvial Gold!
Venturing underground in abandon gold mines is a dangerous but potentially rewarding thing to do. I hit the Victorian goldfields of Australia with a metal detector, rock crusher and gold pan to find the gold the old timers lost!

Put your hard rock samples into sand bags. Tie two together and sling over your shoulder. Never carry in your hands that which can be borne on your back. Wisdom from Carlos Castenada. You’re welcome!

One of the wisest men I have had the privilege of claiming as a friend was a former inmate. Whilst serving his time he became very well educated, in the traditional sense. And subsequently He became the older brother I had never had.
He has passed on now, but his wisdom still guides to this day. May he rest in peace.

I live in another country. I love these guys content. I do not know what these guys need for underground but, someone who does know what's needed, please send these guys some underground stuff like, lights, hard hat, maybe an air meter for each of them. I am sure someone has these things and more just sitting around, walking by them every day, these guys get excited and kind of seem to not notice the possibility of problems that might be. I am not trying to mom them; I just know the saying. How many times can you poke a bear before it wakes and get you. People send lots of fan mails to these guys but to help them stay a little safer seems to be a need. Light weight simple things might be the difference between seeing a poisonous snake and spiders or getting bit by them. I might be all over the place and wrong but, I just do not think I am way off on this. I am sure there are others that hope they are safe but also make fun content also. I look forward to seeing all the awesome content for a long time. Have a happy day everyone.

Damn I do love these videos! Since the big sluice box you've made at home, I keep on wondering if you could make a high-banker at home? Something with a big pump (bringing plenty of gas), with a nice classification system (and some way to help break-up gravel and clay), an initial layer of wide-ribbed rubber with some chicken/wire mesh on top (for all of the heavy and big stuff that will drop out at the start) followed by a layer of marine carpet/miner's moss with a final layer of some fine-ribbed rubber would be SO COOL!
A piece of sheet metal of 1000cm (height) by 150cm (width) does not cost much and the sides could be made using some wood or stuff you've got laying around ;)
I do understand why you wouldn't want to do such a long and big project but man, you could process dirt so fast that both you and Gazi would need to shovel and classify tens of buckets.... hehe

I've had a thought...your bunnings buckets have plastic handles so it might be good for your hands to put a wrap of duct tape on them. I don't know if youve tried it already but I thought since the tape is quite resilient so it might make carrying, distances in particular, just a little bit more comfortable

Chris, I'm liking your new rocker box, especially for sandy areas with minimal clay. Did you buy it as is, or design it yourself?
It caught a lot of really fine gold. It's also a very compact unit that doesn't require much water at all. The ribbed indoor / outdoor carpet is terrific at catching coarse, fine and most flour gold.
Where did you get the Jarvie riffle? Is it from Gold Rat or Do All Paul / Adventures in Gold Prospecting in Canada? Or did you have it made locally in Australia? Looking forward to more videos with the new tiny rocker!

That is such a cool mine, I would love to visit that one, I have a weird disjointed dejavu from Gadzees film lol ....
Now being a blacksmith I know something about Horse shoes (I'm not a farrier) Blacksmiths put the horse shoe points down over the anvil to let luck fall into the anvil but the Blacksmith and Farrier were the ones that made the horse shoe so the only thing that could imbue the horseshoe with luck....Is the horse...therefore horses are full of good luck
aha yes here we have the Yosemite Sam type guy running back and forth between two holes trying to mine and keep people off his claim
I just had a quick look at a map of Reedy creek (presuming I have the right one) the largest gold concentrations would actually be where it turns into a lake in the centre of town but of course you can't pan there , and it would be foolish to try since it looks like its reserve land ...we have similar sites in Wales where people have sensibly thought well lets follow it to where it all drops out and theyve ended up in the estuary hauling out tons of gravel and sand then got themselves into trouble for damaging the environment . (Edit I didn't have the right one LOL)
I love chasing deposits and possibilities but you always have to mindful of where you are and what youre trying to do.
I have a couple of places I want to try near me, but I will have to be careful because the location is a little weird.

Well that was definitely satisfying and informative and that underhand stope (large cavity) had to be quite rich to do all that work. We call it a stope over here in the USA.the deposit they worked was found near the surface they then drove an audit underneath it until they came to the vein and then worked up because it’s easier to use gravity to get the ore down and out instead of killing yourself hoisting it up and out. I’m sooo looking forward to the return trip and results. I know it’s heavy but would dragging your crusher to the mine and concentrating your rock down be worth it??? Even though you didn’t show the total gold weight found it looked close to a gram ? Thanks for sharing Chris see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼 P.S. that picture you saw of a guy with a shotgun wasn’t to protect the gold that was a guy who caught a shovel dogger on His claim and then forced him at gun point to do all the work and get nothing but his life in return yes??? 😬 😂 😂
