Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.

I second that, we own and run a military boarding home during deployment and PTSD refuge camp for military and veterans. We actively take them gold panning amd metal detecting ghost towns in the Rockies. All the best, until they all come home. 🎗🐾

I really like it when you do hardrock gold prospecting. Interesting to see what the oldtimers hunted, looks like a fracture zone, where sulfide veins ventured into the schist and got decomposed due to weathering. Seems the oldtimers followed these weathered areas until it got too hard or to little gold for the effort. You showed that they followed the quartz vein downwards. By the way, I would not expect that ground water can leak gold out of a quartz vein leaving the quartz fresh as we see here. The sulfides are a different matter, they oxidise and get soft, trapped gold would become loose and can be panned out easily as you did.
If you have the chance to get samples cut and polished, you could try to do something like Jason from Mt Baker Mining and Metals, looking on polished surfaces for gold with a microscop adapter on his phone. Doing such work gives a better idea where the gold sits. Just as an idea :) All the best, and happy hunting.

I've come to realise that gold can form in both the quartz and also its host rocks that contain these reefs, how gold can come to be is a educational process that's for sure, ive been looking at how the gold forms in veins where it comes into contact with hard intrusive rocks and supergene zones

I detect reef mines the same and take 2 detectors. You’d be surprised what the Monster picks up that PI detectors dont. I think mineralisation sometimes masks the gold signal from the same rock with PI detectors. But the monster can tell if there’s both ferrous and non ferrous material in the same rock.

I'm either miles behind, or I've just unlocked the next level for dry panning. I put a substance similar to tobacco ( let's just call it tobacco for argument sake 😂) on some paper and accidentally put the paper on top of my portable speaker 🔊

I have a suggestion for you Chris, it might be a stupid idea but here goes. Why don’t you hold a raffle and go to followers property and see if you can find gold ? Maybe once a month ? As an example I live in NSW overlooking Wyangala dam, there’s supposed to be gold here but I haven’t found any yet, only done 2 pans so far lol. But according to locals there’s gold here and they say your likely to “kick a nugget”. Anyway just a thought. 😀

Hi mate , some years ago I was fishing on a small beach that had sandstone structure ,in a small water worn channel from storm water run off I saw a bit of gold , had it not been part of the marine reserve I would have dug it out as it would have been a nugget

finding gold on top of the spoil heap is probably not due to carelessness. The bottom doesn't have any gold because they are digging to the quartz and the top is the likely close to or in a quartz vein.

I'm interested in sluicing/panning, messing about down the creek/s etc. and I'm only interested in gold, well 90% anyway. If I only had one detector, which one would you choose, and if you can, it'd be handy to know why. P.S. I'm a would be grey nomad, mainly thinking of the east coast, thanks.

I have been using a garret which is alot different to the minelab sovereign i am learning to use now so everything i see in your vids is really helpful. I was surprised by just how much quartz shards were in that dirt mix you washed.
