Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.
Check your local regulations, as each state and territory is different, before you travel into or though NP with your dog. Here is the Parks Victoria website for those of you wishing to read up on Victoria's laws 👉 www.parks.vic....
Gold is in the windows error ant pile
The ants guarded the gold :) It seems to be a very promising gold field, maybe also overlooked by other prospectors. Fingers crossed for way more good finds.
Chris, you and Gadzee’s friendship is a thing of legend. I’m so glad you guys are bros. The amazing friendship is why I watch these videos. ❤️
When I go bush I use Bushmans insect repellant, it does ticks, leeches, flies etc
if you have any braken fern around you, pull it out and squish up the base of the stalk near the roots. the gel like sap is good for ant bites and stings.
I posted before I scrolled down to your reply. 😄 I was only just this afternoon reading about a school in WA teaching about bush medicine and they mentioned that bracken fern is used for insect bites.
15:40 not a corn flake a piece of oatmeal (still nice🤩) back to the vid…there’s so much gold there because the cursed bull ants were saving it and obviously they were pissed that you were scoopdogging it😬 nice bits looking forward to a dry washing vid from there get r done before the shoveldogger beats you to it. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
That bit where you got bit and tossed the nugget made me almost cry with laughter. Keep up the exploring Chris your efforts are appreciated
Lol - those ants....reminds me of my first job as a teen working in a "Pick your own" farm where I spent the entire summer hand weeding a field of sweetcorn. Got bitten by horseflies so much that I ended up constantly doing a dance with every little feeling of something on your skin....
That first bit totally sounded like gold, it's the mellowness of the tune so to speak, never a doubt
Love the videos mate, I also appreciate the language filter so I can watch in front of the younger members of the family.
Bring back a bucket of dirt from that spot to pan it out. It could be impressive stuff !
Already have. You'll see
Hey Chris, great video. I had those ants in my backyard as a small boy, NSW bush but the same bastard ants. The sting can be mild if they just stab you once but if they start giving you the juice then they become hell spawn.
Take some antihistamine tablets, that can help I have found, not medical advise :)
Great gold + brutal ants = awesome video.
Cheers.
going out to the rock piles in the sierras soon, brushing up on my metal detecting.thanks for your excitement.
That's no cornflake. That's a coffee bean! Coffee and gold, the two most important resources on earth.
Hey Chris, that was the most painful gold I have ever seen you dig up... Sorry for laughing, but that was straight up comedy 🤣🤣At least you got some gold out of that pain... Job well done brother. Get that gold!!
You have to had found that fast! Gads was still awake, lol! Hadn’t wandered off yet😂😂
'BACK FILLING HOLES WITH MY FOOT!". Catchy tunes come out of this channel
Love these videos.
I use Gators to help keep the painful bugs off my ankles.😊💜
Those pieces of gold were amazing. I was very surprised that the total grams at the end were that high. You found an awesome spot, minus the ants. As an RN, please be very careful of ants. You are very far into the bush, a far distance from help if you have a reaction. I got worried when you were saying that you felt it in your veins, etc., as usually that is one of the first things stated. I'm glad you are okay! Thanks for sharing the adventure with us! Blessings from Alabama ❤️
Turns out that gadzee feller is a hell of an artist. Weird. But a hell of an artist.
Yeah he is weird hey 😀
@@buckshotprospector 😂 it was a compliment! Could have said psychedelic, or different, just went with weird. 😂 you’re super talented bro, I didn’t expect that when I looked into you a little.
@@jimmylarge1148 weird is good it's better than normal. Thanks Jimmy yeah I painted my whole life until I got addicted to prospecting
@@buckshotprospector different is good that’s for sure. I feel ya on the prospecting 😂 I’m addicted to it as well thanks to you two and a cpl others. I’m in Michigan USA and there’s barely any gold to even find yet here I am still shoveling and hauling buckets full of dirt and rocks around 😂
@@jimmylarge1148 I think it's the whole process of going out exploring and being in nature gives you peace of mind that is the addictive element to it find gold is just a bonus
Thank you, Chris. I loved watching you score all those bits of gold almost as much as you getting stung repeatedly. Great fun!
Yes! let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
I found my first nuggets and I think I’d never have been able to locate them without some of your great advice. Thanks for being awesome! Which I could attach a picture hehe
I just took my sluice apart and cleaned it out properly and found even bigger nuggets haha omg
Love your videos mate. Those ants brought back some memories growing up west of Toowoomba. Worst sting ive felt in my life from those bastards. We called em bulldog ants. Feel for ya!
Thanks for bringing us on another great adventure! Its been a good day for picking up some of the shiny stuff.
It still blows my mind Chris, how small these pieces thr detector picks up! Amazing!
one thing about ants.. if you crush them they give of a pheromone that alerts other ants to investigate bringing more in.. not sure if that is the same for your ants. those be so huge.. lol. glad you do not have fern with you today. :)
Awesome! This is my first time winning anything! Thanks Chris!
I can’t stop laughing, I’m sorry I really feel your pain. They’ve gotten me too 😂
Always fun watching your videos.
Chris has strong hands. U can see he works alott like us working man. Good job mate. At my home we say good day mate instead of?
Be the change u want to see. Every day u work is? Pay day.
I laughed hard. Like rolled in laughter. Something so small yet mighty..
Amazing bro, great from your friend Indonesia 🇮🇩👍🙏🙏
Great vid Chris. You and Gadsy and anybody else should carry some strong surface spray ant killer and spray your shoes to keep the ants from crawling up off the ground. It seemed to work on our work boots to keep green ants off while property surveying out in the bush here in CQ. I am fiercely allergic to insect stings.
Regards, Jas.

Nice finds Chris! 👍 Sorry about the ants 🐜 😂
Also a low high target usually means deep or dence target . Can get deep hi lows that are not so dence eg. specimens thin flat steel or rust 👍 just my experience . Top work mate 👌
I feel your pain brother, I used to live in Georgia in the US they have fire ant black body red head. Anyway I was mowing my grass and I stepped on their home and got over 50 bites on my leg. Their bite makes the area feel like it is on fire for a good hour or so..
Hey mate, looks warm there, you are in late spring, early summer,2c here late fall. early winter here Mate!!
At 24:18 mark, If you looked in that great big crevice that you're pointing at, I bet you'd find a few nice nuggets😉 ❤
A HA!! Chris.... 9:14.... what is that in Gadzee's hand he just quickly whisked behind his back.
Re edit... re edit.
You wouldn't want certain people to think good chewing bacca to be anything else. :>)
Bag of ants... that's all
Hahaha ain't gonna chew it I did that once drunk and regretted it instantly.
@@leonieburnham322oh no you saw me planting the banshee ants
@@buckshotprospector ... what would be worse? That or sitting round with some dates and mates at a party, grabbing the wrong beer off the coffee table, guzzling three or four glugs... only to find out by the last chug it was somebody else's ashtray?!!!
Then try and act like it never happened. Bwahaha... #binderdondat
@@godsoffspring4195 bahaha oh I've been there and yeah it ain't a good look or taste
It was the finger up at the ant for me 🤣
Another great episode.
I can relate to ant stings. You have your bull ants. Down in NC, US we have imported fire ants, they hurt a bit, leave a little red goose bump, but often it's a swarm, but once I got stung in the finger by an ant I couldn't id. For over 24 hours it felt like my hand had been burned and if I touched something with that hand for that 24 hrs. or so, it felt like it was over a big flame. I so a toad, about 2 inch in diameter jump by their hole, he was dead befor he got a foot away, only saw a few go after him. Bet the bull ant den was real close to your gold bonanza.
Those fire ants have got into Australia, and are ravaging parts of South East Queensland. Various levels of government are trying to stop it spreading further. They found a colony near the container terminal in Sydney, but managed to kill that. I hope those things are eradicated, because it would profoundly effup our way of life, and wipe out a lot of native animals that are already threatened. 😬
@madcatjo Sorry to hear that. The fire ant got into the south US and spread quickly and sounds like are there to stay. While stationed in N.C. in the late 1970's, I got stationed at a little place in the woods with about a dozen fellow Marines, about 20 miles from anything but woods. Alot of wildlife, like deer and black bears, lizards, snakes, etc. One day one of us had been out mowing the acre or two of grass around the building we sleep in, and had an office in. He said "We're going to war, we've got fire ants" and we got a camp fire set up, a metal bucket of water and began pouring boiling water into about 20 or so, about 8 inch high fire ant hills and a every few week for that whole summer we would find a half dozen new hills or some that we must've missed getting their queen and recovered. After my 8 months there, we did cut their numbers, but new ones were still being found. The boiling water worked fairly well, but if we had added a few drops of dish soap befor pouring, I think it would've worked better. At least they have their hills that make it easier to find their nests, unlike your bull ants that just have a hole in the ground
Considering the cheap cost of cable, Hoe interesting would it be to rig up a gopro or similar [ light, capable auto focus etc ] camera with an led light, to lower down to the bottom of these shafts for a view of what has not been seen in a hundred years = OY' what about a smal RC car on a lenght of strong fishing line and go for an explore!!!!! Ebay land drone toy thingy??? with a bicycle light. That's gotta be interesting mate.
Working hard for that cursed gold, Nice finds honestly they are amazingly large compared to what i can find.
Memories of Windows 95 were almost as painful as those Ant Bites!
When coyote peterson meets prospecting. It's probably why the old timers didn't finish that spot
Honestly,😂 I was laughing with you
Thinking about the ANT, really when you're on camera you can do 1 of 2 things firstly, harden up and drink some concrete or get gadsy to pisss on the bite, either one would make a great video lol. Enjoyed every moment looking forward to the next 😂😂😂
Another great show thanks matey 👍
Interesting video, Chris.
Cool find old mate.
@15:47, That's not a Cornflake, it's a Puffed Wheat (swollen Vag) ha ha
Good job Chris. That’s a great day.
The gold gods required a small sacrifice for your early luck in the day
The inch ants have brought the gold up to the surface for you, they are strong bastards.
Cheers Dan
Im pretty sure most Aussies who detect have encountered these "jumping jacks" before they are so painful that you do not forget them fast haha
Everybody that hates prospector moisture. Hired those ants. hahahahaha lol 💥💥
Hey Chris just wondering if you still doing the time capsule? keep up the great work you do
Very entertaining to watch an otherwise cool-Chris-cucumber lose his sheeet!
You deserve all of that gold.
the 2nd rock you chucked in that sharft..had drusey qworts on it,,,and no i cant spell..
Well done Chris. Snakes can scare me but bull ants terrify me to the core. Vicious bastardry things they are. Peeing on the bite straight away will ease the pain unbelievably. May need to be a contortionist or a creative thinker at times. Maybe try it when the camera is not on 😁👍
Thanks for sharing.
What IS that little transmitter/receiver thingie on your ear? Doesn't look like Minelab but you were moving around too much to read it. What Records your sound stream? Fun vid, by the way!
since there was no signal on the other side of the minralized quartz should you flip over and check all large quartz chunks and check?
Chris, you may need to get some hip waders to keep the ants off!
Sad the ants had to die but that gold was worth one or two for sure.
Thank for sharing
🙏❤️🌲
I feel your pain Chris. I grew up in Vic. Bloody Bullants are pricks
😂😂😂 you stole the ants gold lol. Hope you recover. Their sting definitely earn the worthy swear words
The Ant attacks is why there is still Gold there. 😂
A dab of honey, on the bite/sting site, relieves the pain within 1 minute, and stops the pain from returning, works with inch-ants, mosquitoes, and bee stings.
There had to be a ant nest close by for that many bites so you may have them to thank for the gold, the ants bring up small rocks they don't know if it's gold it was just in the way.
Ants tend to be where the golds at, maybe they bring it to the surface
you guys R just awesome, keep your awesomeness please.
Good video Chris.
Just curious ( anyone can answer this )
Going into mines is popular for obvious reasons even though being dangerous.
Do people go down shafts? Or is that on a whole new level of dangerous? Obviously gas can't escape which is 1 thing but yeah just had the thought of " I wonder if people go down shafts to chase gold "
The spectrum of stupid is limitless. So....yeah. likely. How many never come out...only Darwin knows.
Get some bentonite clay and some activated charcoal and mix 2 tsp bentonite to 1 tsp charcoal to a paste with water. Keep it in a little pill bottle. Coat ALL bites and stings IMMEDIATELY and you won't suffer like that.
Baking soda paste dores a good job on wasps here in CA USA
Banshee ants banshee ants gonna crawl up ya pants
🎵 Pain, for pleasure!! 🎶
Where's the link to the spud engineering quartz breakdown? Did I miss it?
It's linked in the top right corner of the video
Chris, if youre not premimu yt, you cant see those onscreen links, or at least thats why i assume i never see any....not since i started using my phone, anyhow.
😂 awesome show⛏️⛏️
Thanks for the laugh man I was nearly pissing myself. Take it easy mate
I can't wait to watch you goes go crazy dry washing that stuff.
So much for insects being smart. all the water in the world and flies hang around us for water!!!
So that's quartz? Guess I have to go check that "cave" me and my pals were playin at when we were kids and found those "nice white stones" xD
I don't think you killed that second ant. They're tough buggers. It would have just laughed that off.
Finally!! A real video 😂😂😂
Long one … Wohoo!
Woo! More vo gus
92 👍's up VGP thank you for sharing 😊
Im sorry, is it ok that im laughing.
That was some nasty angry ants😮now thats dedication bitten once and willing to back in for glory.
Hmmm 🤔 that mine you dropped the rock in should be 17-20 meters deep 😳 definitely not a nice fall
I honestly hate the sounds metal detectors make. I could never buy one. I did borrow one once and ended up giving it back 😂
Then i followed a hunch and found the only gold ive ever found in the wild. I little nuggie, in my first pan in my hunch location.
Jack jumper maybe? Much more painful than a bull ant! In my experience anyway 🤔
Those ants certainly made you pay for that gold.
No link in your description as stated by you at the end, plus no link on your channels tab in your youtube proflie.
Sorry but the ant is the star. lol.Nice work.
Ehh mate.. been told with stings... to piss on the bloody stung spot... yet... I know if it doesn't piss off you it will piss you off!!! As your own urine will help alleviate the stinging effect.
Maybe the ants are attracted by the sound the detector is making..?
the creatures in Australia mostly walk on two legs and are named.
