I often times get skunked when sampling different area's of our claim. You're very informative on what to look for in a quartz vein. Just before you said you're limited to hand tools in Victoria, I was thinking 'man a dry shaker would do you some good... bad for your ears but good on your pack out.' Also can you ask my 21 personalities to return to me and stop stealing them all! I'm down to 2 so I'm simply beside myself!
Okay so back at the mine and doing the sampling as it has to be done to find the best spot I guess. Great video and of course some good laughs as well. Looks like you found where to search next and looking forward to that, stay safe....
These kind of process videos are really interesting. They provide insight and are, as you say, the antidote to every video being "wow, look at all this gold!" I would totally watch more of this, especially something on how you do your research to find these places to go to..... without giving away your sites too much, of course!
We do all appreciate you being honest about what you do. I am tired of seeing those ones who fake stuff. I wish I was your age again so I could do some stuff.
Us.. That's me and my 50 o9ther personality's. Funniest thing I've heard all month... I actually enjoy watching your videos because of your honesty and the fact that you are enjoying yourself so much.. How can we not enjoy watching..
We all know yer goin’ out ‘n gittin’ bucket-loads o’ shiny an’ jes pertendin like it’s all scarce an’ hard to do. Ya just sprinkle a few crumbs on the Patreon members on go on about the struggle. Ya aint foolin nobody whut got any sense! Koodos, Chris. So psyched that yer pursuing hard rock now. It’s what so many of us viewers dream about and you’re out there doing it and sharing the journey with the rest of us. Thanks for all the hard lessons and the YouTubing efforts. It really helps me to learn from guys like you and all the other “rock stars”. Pimpin ain’t easy!
Hey Chris, do you ever process the fines left in the wheelbarrow at a later date for a bit of fun, just to see if any gold has dropped out? The results would be interesting to know, just like your porch clean up you did 😎. Cheers for the great content too ❤
I work in oil fields and there is bags we put over exhaust ports w hen putting fly ash in bins. They will not only cut dust but catch residual dust for further processing. I think it might be a great thing to attach to the bucket for your crusher just a thought. Thanks for the video!
That was an eye-opening result, Chris! I couldn't believe that there was more gold on the floor versus the rest. However, there was a wash leading down the hill from it. Moreover, you said this small mine was from the 1800s. I bet a bunch of gold weathered out and washed down the hill. I agree that more samples from the floor should be taken. Perhaps you might find more intact quartz veins running across the hillside under a ton of overburden! May you find many golden lumps in your pans! 😂 Hugs from Alabama ❤️
I was surprised by your mention of "Time Team" as I am a huge fan for only the last year or so. I never saw it on TV here in Pennsylvania but I stumbled unto it on RUclips. Anyway, I really do enjoy your videos. I'm 72 years old with, of course, some health problems that limits my outdoor time but I get to tag along with you in Australia (or even New Zealand) and go mining or panning for gold. Thanks again.
Hi buddy I solved my dust problem with some 100 mm plastic down pipe with mini sprinklers inside it, I had a y fork at the lowest point sitting in a bucket of water to collect the mud and attach a vac on a riser from the high end. The dust is drawn into a bucket were the heavy’s stay a flex hose takes the dust to 50 to 100 fitting on the y , the dust is stripped from the air. It works great . Cheers
I’ve been watching your videos on Facebook for a couple months now, I just starting following on RUclips. I decided to get a pan kit and give it a go my self, wish me luck and I’ll give my dog a scratch behind the ear for you
I don't know how many times I've done crushes with no gold in it I love your content and honesty vogus keep up the awesome informational videos I still learn alot from you and have Ben watching you for over.... my gosh idk how long quite a few years lol
Fantastic video and honest. I was wondering if it would be worth putting a wet hessian bag over the outlet vent of your crushing bucket to lesson the dust for you and your neighbours.
Fascinating stuff Chris, I've learnt through watching you that I found a big hunk of mineralised quartz on the side of a valley locally that was basically falling apart in my hands, it even smelt sulphurous ....I now know why I was attracted to investigating it but cannot for the life of me remember where it was.......Typical I am busting to see how this series goes...any spoilers deeply appreciated lol 🤣
With the dust coming from the crusher I think a shade cloth tent with water dripping over it might help. I haven't tried this but I'd put an extention tube on then form a triangle cage, cover with flyscreen/shade cloth with water supply dripping at the top
Awesome video! You do a rad job. Natural weathering processes release gold from sulphides (oxidation), which is easily recoverable by crushing and gravity sep. That's why a lot of early prospects (1860's) were only worked down to fresh rock that contained gold but still locked up in sulphides. So maybe your prospect was abandoned because the old timers didn't have the means or access to processes like cyanide leaching that allow recovery of gold from sulphides. Have you pegged that ground yet?
With a little bit of everything, this has been a really interesting video! Nice job. can't wait to see the results when you narrow it down to the "spot"
Eh Chris, curious if you have watched “the goldmans channel”. He drops some muriatic on the sulfides. Have you ever tried to release the gold out of the iron sulfides?
Thanks for the hard work you put into making these videos. I´m hooked to see you making nice progress with your systematic prospection work at this mine. I see it starts to pay off, even with surprise gold. May I suggest, to sample also the dirt in the dump area where you had the most gold specimens. Chances are, that the fine gold content is high as well and dirt has the advantage, that you do not have to process the quartz, you just need to pan or have a dry blower at the site as suggested in earlier comments. Anyway, well done, it was really great to watch. All the best, Chris.
Just became a Patreon member Chris. I really appreciate your passion and willingness to explain every step in the process. Your humor and honesty can't be beat my friend. I wish i could be there with you on some of the trips but I'm in the states. That wont hold me back though as i just purchased a placer mining claim in Colorado and will soon be purchasing a lode claim. Even if it doesn't pan out, no pun intended or was it😏 it will be nice for camping and watching the moode stroll by 😅
Hi mate I am enjoying your YT and TICTOK and am now into collecting 😂😂 its great fun,and gives me something to do with my time as I am in a wheelchair, Thanks again Matty..
lol for bags from a morrisons store they cost 50p. but you can get the same type of bag from another shop for 10p. bags for life they say. lol. i have so many damn bags. hehe loved the timeteam reference. i just been watching a lot of the old ones. they now have there own youtube channel and started again. and is publicly funded with patron. if you liked the old ones you may like the new ones also. :)
I like the way you are going with your mining! However, what happened to your mining buddies? They helped make your channel what it is today. I really hope you find a ton of gold in the floor of the mine. Great video.
Here in the state of Washington in the U.S. we have a state bag ordinance that is eight cents tax to get a plastic bag. I have heard of other areas in other states that have as high as a 30 cents tax for the same type of bag.
Hey Chris... with your new direction in prospecting, you also need to invest in different gear... like work GLOVES... to save your hands from those blisters and knee pads will help too
Funny how the pigs came up in this video. I was sniping in wombat state forest a few weeks ago, put my head up to grab a tool from the rock ledge I was next to, to be confronted by 4 pigs that weren’t very happy I was there and they charged me in the water, had a swing at one with the little pick I had and they took off.
21:22 looks like if you make a very small 1.5in cut in the top edge of your buckets lip that you could get your crusher to sit right down in the seat of the rim.
I, for one, appreciate your honesty in showing us the reality of prospecting.
I'm glad it's new and not a repeat. Brings me back
Really enjoying this new format! It probably takes a lot more time but production quality jump is noticeable!

Ahahaha, jokers to the right, jokers to the left?
Okay so back at the mine and doing the sampling as it has to be done to find the best spot I guess. Great video and of course some good laughs as well. Looks like you found where to search next and looking forward to that, stay safe....
That was real work you were doing there. You deserve what ever gold you find.
These kind of process videos are really interesting. They provide insight and are, as you say, the antidote to every video being "wow, look at all this gold!" I would totally watch more of this, especially something on how you do your research to find these places to go to..... without giving away your sites too much, of course!
dude, you completely messed with my head with that time team cut, I thought youtube had went crazy. I've been watching a lot of that show recently.
We do all appreciate you being honest about what you do. I am tired of seeing those ones who fake stuff. I wish I was your age again so I could do some stuff.

Gotta love that handle.

The old timers were some very special gold hunters. They didn't miss much.
Your Detective work is fantastic to watch.
Glad the floor holds gold!!
Limited to hand tools? Like a 3'/1 m digging bar, and a a fence t post driver?
A chance to do more easier.
Love the prospecting hard rock mining can't wait to see you hit it rich one day.
Love watching and preparing myself mentally so I know what to expect when out prospecting. Great video!!
Hell ya bud! In so proud of u, keep up the hard rock stuff. I like the turn of the new channel

Your sense of humor is priceless 🤣 keep up the great work and videos 👍👍

Looks like you are getting closer to better gold. Keep up the great work!
Ahaaaa!
Time Team!
A man of culture, clearly!
😊
As an archaeologist I appreciate the Time Team ref. 😁
I liked it! You are quite knowledgeable ! Thanks for sharing in such an interesting way. 😊

The bag of dirt dance got dangerously close to the original scene where jack falls down the steps
Lol, I like falling asleep with TimeTeam playing in the background. Thought I hit remote button by mistake.
Good to know Im not alone....

Love these hard rock vids, super interesting 😊 Dust suppression an issue -> use an old bed sheet, cut a small hole and plonk it over the bucket.
Jolly good! I am enjoying the hard rock mining much greater than panning!
Love it Chris 🎉..I wish I had that kinda luck around these parts!!! Keep up and stay safe!!!
Lmfao, only 50?
And that night shot was absolutely amazing.
The others are in training
Can’t wait to see more as you do more samples.
Absolutely loving the hard rock content Chris 👍👍
It would be awesome to see what the old timers actually seen to know to dig there
With the dust coming from the crusher I think a shade cloth tent with water dripping over it might help. I haven't tried this but I'd put an extention tube on then form a triangle cage, cover with flyscreen/shade cloth with water supply dripping at the top

Matty..
Here in Oregon, they started charging us 5 cents a bag, now most places in my area don’t have bags at all…. Fun times.
CA here, ten cents per.
Nice vid. Loved that night sky transition btw. :)
Can always try Feather and wedges, for big rocks/rock wallls.
lol for bags from a morrisons store they cost 50p. but you can get the same type of bag from another shop for 10p. bags for life they say. lol. i have so many damn bags. hehe loved the timeteam reference. i just been watching a lot of the old ones. they now have there own youtube channel and started again. and is publicly funded with patron. if you liked the old ones you may like the new ones also. :)

You might want to obtain some of those 'spreader wedge's, or whatever they are called, that Dan Hurd uses.
In Canada we no longer have grocery bags. Not the cheap plastic ones anyways.
Can’t wait to see more!! Hoping you get into something rich.
6:21 Tony Robinson is from Bristol, too. That programme is probably why i can't find anything 😂
You could do with investing in some feather and wedges now your taking hard rock Chris
Looks to be a decent floor can't wait to see a bulk sample taken does Mick have a bigger crusher or ball mill to release all the gold
Great video! We pay 10 cents a bag in California.
In Ontario Canada shopping bags(single use)are outlawed
Recycled material bag are 75 to1.50 per bag
Great to see that aeroplane ✈️ spraying the skies above..
Looks great, I hope when you go back you get the nugget of your life...😀😊
Here we go! YEEYEE
Wtf is yeeyee?
@@brendenbarnes2071 look it up.
You’re awesome dude. I love your vids man!!! Keep being you!
You should take a junkie with you. They always find the vein 😂👍🏻⚒️🏴
Good work all 49 of you. Maybe help number 50 abit more with moral support

Great video to watch.
Waiting to get a 4wd so I can get out there and try the same..even to just enjoy time out on my own 😎🤘
Great job Chris! Love it! ❤
Heya Chris hope ya well :) have you thort about even putting a length of pipe on that dust outlet would make a hell of a difference!
Hey Chris... with your new direction in prospecting, you also need to invest in different gear... like work GLOVES... to save your hands from those blisters and knee pads will help too
@7:20 here in Washington state US we've been paying. 08c for over a year. And now they have taken the plastic bags out of a few stores
Great vid mate thoroughly enjoyed that.
Chris I enjoy your videos. Looks like you have more fun when you have Gadzi with you. O and fern.
Awesome Video as usual Chris!! 😉
I get skunked every time haha. I keep going tho. Your channel has given me tons of advice and im grateful for that. Thanks.
Love the Time Team reference :)
I want to see you pan the dirt from your yard where all the dust from the crusher goes.
Sweet necklace
Yep, been eyeing that, wondering on materials....
We pay for shopping bags in Washington State as well
Thanks for sharing.
The number of Skunk days reign supreme. Embrace your skunks.
Time to dig! Good video!!
Spore, is a beautiful muck mover! 30p for one of those bags here, that's like 10 bucks Australian 😜
Love watching your stuff. You make me laugh Thanks
Amazing Work Mate 👍🍻
Did you ever look into methods for cutting down on dust from the crusher? Maybe run a garden mister with a shroud?
I like these videos of that mine. Very interesting, but I do miss the "old moldy hat" that you used to have on your intro.
We pay 15 cents per plastic bag and a dime for paper bag here in California so I feel your pain.
I imagine your neighbours love that rock crusher. Thanks for the vid :)
21:22 looks like if you make a very small 1.5in cut in the top edge of your buckets lip that you could get your crusher to sit right down in the seat of the rim.
In Washington state we pay 8 cents per bag.
10 cents in the US for shopping bag,I'm thinking of mining them😅
I can see it on the news now… truck load of shopping bags was hijacked on the freeway. The bandits were seen eating crickets and worms as they fled.
Great video dude!
Happy to be not the only chimmy chopper to use a Coles plastic bag for my rocks.🤣They don't last very long if you try to cram in to much though.😂
Love your channel!!!
OK I see a Time Team video with Chris and GadZee.
