Thanks for the video! I learned quite a few new things. I didn’t realise these tools can sometimes miss some availability. My question is: do I have to check for each date/week on airline website to be sure? Or are there some combinations of award tools that will always capture the real world availability?

Anytime! Yeah, we're always looking for the one-size-fits-all answer, especially if it's an app or website, but unfortunately it usually depends on the use case.
What I personally do is check seats.aero for broad searching and then point.me for specific dates, and then I'll top it off by searching airlines that it usually misses separately (e.g. Singapore and Cathay).

So really none of the tools found the Cathay and Singapore’s award flights. Nothing can really replace your own searching skill on airline’s websites themselves

yup, if you can build up the expertise to no where to look, that's still currently the best way to go (though the tools definitely help!)

Hello. I'm looking for way better value/use of points. Been unsuccessful at finding a reasonable United Excursionist ... business class prepositioning AUS>USA(early Sep-2024), then NY>Greece, (mid Sep-2024), finally Italy/Europe>NY/USA (early Dec-2024). Appreciate suggestions, including abandoning use of United Excursionist.
-- Home airport: AUS, but need to be in NY ((+/-) 3-17 September 2024, can depart (+/-) 18 Sep
-- Destination airport(s): ATH, Greece (arrive mid Sep)
-- Type of points (Chase, Amex) I can use?: Chase & Amex
-- Month we're looking to travel?: to Greece, September 2024; from Italy/Europe, early Dec.
-- how many people will be traveling? two (2)
    -- pointsyeah: Not tried
-- Seats.aero: Yes, tried. Haven't found what I'm looking for or haven't learned how to use it.
