I stumbled upon schedule change where I was able to cancel for full refund (which i wanted to do anyways, but this was much better than flight credit). Never thought i can try to game this
@@geobreezetravel i was going to cancel anyways for a flight credit. But before i did that, there was a 8 hour schedule change and i was offered to pick any other option available within +/- 7 days of the original booking. I enquired whether I could cancel for a full refund instead of flight credit and they were okay with that too! This was with Alaska airlines

Is this still the case with AA who just issued new restrictions on “authorized” travel agencies?
Which part? With AA, I would recommend booking direct as much as possible, especially if you want to maximize your loyalty points.
