If I had a nickel for everytime Sonic Generations has saved the reputation of Sonic's Legacy, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Nah, the adventure formula is the best. If SEGA don’t force Sonic Team into rushing games, they can really do special things. Sonic P-06 is the best Sonic Game ever made!

Not really nothing beats the 2D/"classic" formula. This is a good game though, as were the first Sonic Adventure (SA2 sucked) and Sonic Frontiers.
The problem as I see it is Sega has created too many "formulas" for Sonic, some of them okay to good in some aspects, others bad, and the series as a result just feels like a mess. It just has no real direction. Even if they choose to go the direction of Frontiers in the future, they will be leaving out all the fans of the other formulas, such as fans of the Sonic Adventure or classic series.
What they have done is create a sprawling mess that will never make all of its fans, or even a majority of them, happy. With every new game in the series there will be people who are pissed because *their* favorite style of game didn't get the attention.
Lets all not forget that IGN once said Sonic was never a good series years ago.
After Sonic Frontiers, Brian Altano changed his mind to liking Sonic again.
Justin Davies has sad the same thing in Goose Camp. Sonic doesn't hold up like Nintendo platforms did and I was a Genesis kid. didn't get a snes until years later as an adult.
Ya I bet Peer must've knocked some sense into them after the backlash they received. Even accounting for subjectivity, saying "Sonic was never good" is just crazy talk. The early games were console sellers and most reviewers scored the series on par with, if not outright above the Mario franchise. If you really thought Sonic wasn't a good platformer, then what is? Bubsy? Lol
Sonic has been through some really rough times as a franchise, but ultimately it's just a really loveable cast of characters and franchise that keeps people coming back

To be fair, while they were unfair to sonic unleashed, they were pretty fair outside of that, aside from the sonic was never good interview. While i really like frontiers, the game is pretty flawed and unpolished in a lot of areas, so 7 wasnt unfair.

Crazy how IGN said Sonic the Hedgehog was never good; but scrotum rides this 😂
What irks me is that there's no Shadow The Hedgehog stages or even his iconic move, Chaos Blast. It's strange considering they show Shadow having the red/crimson aura during the recap as if he was about to perform it. I genuinely believe this is how he should've defeated the final boss instead of the Demon King Piccolo finisher.
These guys love Sonic more than DBZ Sparking Zero. It's like they are picking their favorite child.

Damn sonic's been bouncing back as of lately. We got 2 solid sonic games last yr wit superstars and the mobile one, now we got the defenitive generations finally released outside of 7th gen. Not to mention the classic that was sonic mania a few yrs back. sure he may still make a few bad games every now n then but im just glad we still get good games from him to this day 👍.
I’m a huge sonic fan. My fav sonic game is Adventure 2 battle. I wish Sega would just remake that with modern graphics. Please sega please!!! Just remaster that whole game!!!
Yes!! Thank you IGN! Sega, please give us more Sonic Adventure! Remaster the first two games first and then make the third entry. Expand all the systems. Combat and Chao Garden. Let all characters be playable on most levels. Let chaos assist players in levels. Please add online Chao battles and turn the gameplay for chaos into a full blown turn based rpg. Expand the chao store with lots of buffs, and items with abilities for chaos to hold or wear. Please take what I say into consideration when developing these games. Congrats on the success for Sonic X Shadow Generations!

The fact that we’re making this such a big deal is kinda sad when you think about it.
Sonic has fallen so hard and for so long. An 80 on metacritic is considered a miracle for this franchise meanwhile an 80 for Mainline Mario would be considered a death sentence . 😂

Sonic generation's and sonic unleashed are segas best,a remake of unkeashed with daytime levels only or really slimmed down night time levels would be great the combat was ok but the werehog platforming....no...just no

@@frankcortes6852soundtrack is intact, the Amy and knuckles changes are simply to better match their current characterizations and chemistry, which aren't new since these characters have been established like that since the IDW comics began and arguably since the Archie reboot
The only thing that can be attributed to censorship is that they covered rouge's back, and tbh it's understandable, it's a kids game and age rating has only gotten stricter over time, it's also a miniscule change that most wouldn't notice anyway

@@PatrickWDunneBecause it’s a fact that proves they hated Sonic to begin with when it went to 3D. Then Brian switched up after Frontiers success. Now after this game, he’s being positive with Sonic
It wasnt the fact that Sonic was never good(thats false) its just Sega kept putting out mid tier games for a franchise that should easily rival mario and some of the best platforming games of all time. Sonic should always be in that conversation but Sega wanted to be strict on man dates, not improve on things and learn from the past, separate the bad from the good, and making it too kiddy was the downfall of Sonic games. What was keeping Sonic alive was the comics, tv shows, and live action movies. Sonic needs to go back at being a great video game franchise again. They have the lore, they have interesting characters they just need to take it more seriously. I dont want Sega to quit on their open world sonic games either. Their is alot of potential with open world sonic games, just take the positives from sonic frontiers and expand on that and eventually they will make the best open world sonic game they ever made.
