Refinishing Door Cards | Range Rover Classic - EP 08

- I took the door cards out of the land rover over two months ago, and have been driving around with naked doors up until now. Last week I finally got around to finishing them. Up next is likely going to be a leaky headliner ;)

You’re the man please keep making these. Helping me restore my own
Hey hey! Thanks for the praise Jay! Glad to have you here 😌
It’s ridiculous that you don’t have 100’s of times as many views, likes and subscriptions….great videography, great content !
Cheers Tim! The channel is definitely growing which is a plus, but I think I'll need to beef up my video output if I ever want see big big numbers. Glad you're here!
Like other commenters, I appreciate the effort and diligence you’ve applied and shown here. Thank you! I’m working on taking delivery of a ‘95 Country LWB now and eager to get to work!!
Hey hey! Thanks Noah. I’m looking forward to finishing up everything I’d like to on the truck this coming year. So hopefully I’ll have some more vids you’ll like as well.
Good luck with your 95 LWB! Check those front footwells for rust!
Wow, just found your channel and as a LR fan, this is great. I working on two 98 Discos now. Located in Japan and great to see others restoring these beauties!
Hey thanks so much and Welcome! I've never been to Japan but if I could snap my fingers thats totally the first place I'd visit. Would love to see an old RRC in that landscape!
@@WorkingAxle certainly a wonderful place with a few querky aspects that you learn to love or at least accept. The classic LRs are overpriced and parts are hard to come by. I often spend more on shipping from overseas then the actual part. However, the vehicles are normally in great shape. One of my 98 Discos only has 8k on the dial. Most of the repairs are simply dry rot or sun damage (e.g. hoses, bushings, etc..).
Keep up the good work, you have given me some great/creative ideas on future projects.
Such a beautiful vid! Keep it it up can’t wait until it is done. But it is a Land Rover they are never done. Always something to do.
Hahha! No comment has ever been truer. Always, always something to do. Cheers Brandon!
Great series you made here, thanks for doing this! Do you know it's normal for Land Rover's of this age to don't have vapor barrier foils in the door frames? Saw then you re-assembled the doors, there wasn't any physical separation between wet and dry spaces there.
Cheers @tfa8 Thanks for the praise on the series! I do believe this year of RRC did come with a vapor barrier on the insides of the door. However, I think someone removed them at some point and never reinstalled.
Hello! If you liked this little short consider subscribing. Cheers!
What type of paint/color did you use on the door cards?
Hey Chris! I used a duplicolor vinyl and fabric specialty coating. Left an amazon link in the description, but I’m pretty sure it was charcoal grey.
@@WorkingAxle Thanks! I have an 88 RRC with grey interior.
Chris Castleberry oh nice! Mine was originally tan/brown. Looked a little tattered, and I wanted to go with the gray anyway!
Would you say that this paint sticks well on the plastic? Would nail scratch the paint?
This is a comment.
