  • While installing the new ac compressor the engine bay was a bit of an eye sore and quite filthy. Needed to do a bit of detailing. These smaller 1-day jobs are helping to get me back in the mood to tackle more pressing work on the Rover. Enjoy!

Would recommend! Make me want to do more engine work now. Be sure to remove the battery and cover the alternator in plastic before hosing anything.

Looks great. Take care of that orange oil filler cap......they are no longer available and you will be lucky to find a used one in good condition. I had to get one shipped from Latvia, over payed, waited for ever but it arrived in like new condition. Oh, I also bought a pack of micro wire wheels for my Dremel tool, they do wonders on rusty bolt heads.....look new after. Mine is still in the body shop getting all new paint (Oslo Blue), then interior shop to get a new Navy blue carpet kit.....then done! Yea right. Great to see your girl getting some more attention.

No way! I didn't know these caps were that rare. Glad I gave it some love. It's got a slight crack on the left there, but maybe I could patch that somehow just to make sure it doesn't deteriorate anymore.
Hope the paint job turns out like you hope! Oslo blue is such a distinct color. Good choice!

You remind me of the guy doing the mustang restore in LA. Van houten or something is his name

Far from a perfect detail, but this should give me a better base for routine cleanings.
