Thanks for the heads up on which one is better. The Sony brand stand seems to be way better than that other generic piece of crap you are using in this video. I'm gonna need one of those Sony ones soon. To save some room by my tv, i'm standing up my 360, PS3 and PS2 next to each other, as that's all the space i have.

Hello. The first one is the generic brand. The second one is the Sony brand. As you have seen, the original held the console way better. I had annotations posted but for some reason RUclips disabled them.
I've always kept mine horizontal but need 2 vertical stands now for 2 consoles. I'll get Sony one but it definitely doesn't damage or leave any marks on console right? -Especially over long term?
I'm about to get one because the PS3 slim I have can only read Bluray discs when it is on it's side (and I still have to tilt it when putting in the disc/turning on the console or it won't even know there is a disc inside)

I guess I'll buy the original, just bought a PS3 for exclusives only since the Xbox lacks in that department but I never thought I would have to buy an accessory for something like this...
Is it harmful 4 ps3 to keep it vertical n play....??? b'coz sum times my ps3 makes crazy disc sound's if i play it vertically...!!!!
I was lucky. I got a cheapass $5.29 stand off ebay, and it keeps a tight grip on the ps3 like the official stand. The clamp mechanism on mine actually looks a little simpler than the ones on both of the stands shown on this video, but it is effective.
I sure can speak, no doubt about that. As I've said before I don't think this video needs any voice over as it's pretty self explanatory.
Also, don`t want to rape anyone's ears off with my accent.

Damn! That must be one shitty generic ps3 stand.. Because the generic stand I got off ebay holds tight..

Just bought the original stand, has anyone experienced any problems of the PS3 over heating or something bad happening to it?
if anything the ps3 will be better off vertical because of the exposure of all the vents
+Ed win turns out vertical is better for both PS3 and PS4, both systems get more air
Proof of vertical showing more airflow and cooling temps? Only real thermal proof i found was the ps3 fat being better horizontal,but nothing on the slim.
But looking at these vertical stands, they block a whole side of intake air vents.
Imo, and elevated ps3 slim horizontally seem the best. Heat collects on the bottom esp on woof surfaces, but i use 1 inch pegs to raise it up.

Do you need a vertical stand or is it just to be more steady or sturdy?
Considering controllers are wireless you can really just stand it on its side
If it were a ps2 I'd get a stand as ripping controllers around might tip it

I don't think so. I still have this exact ps3 unit and it's still working just fine to this day. I kept it half of the time in vertical position and half in horizontal position.

@videogameaddict100 i have both consuls as well! PS3 and Xbox 360! honestly, i love PS3 for its design and mobility (No external power supply like on the xbox), but i love the fact that Xbox accessories sync without the need to attach a USB key like Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, etc. but gaming wise.. i admit that i spend more time on PS3 specially MW online. both cool and both are good entertainment units.
