I love you always, Mikey. Your videos are such a comforting, soothing part of my day, and your projects are a constant in my rotation. This will definitely be in my queue.
I was just looking for this Red Heart yarn on Yarnspirations to make this throw! Thank you Mikey and Yarnspirations for making and sharing this tutorial and pattern, it will make my life much easier when I make it! This throw is just to gorgeous not to make it! I haven't made a blanket/throw in over 20 years, but this one is a MUST for me!
Amen to that tho yes the original is just drop dead gorg but the squaring off is fab ( exactly like evening off a Virus Afghan/blanket - the method is exactly the same btw) anyways this is a motif worth playing w IMO that is - here’s to all of us yarn addicts -( lol ) long may we rave !!!! waves from Anchorage Alaska ✨💫✨💫💗💙💗💙💫✨💫✨
Absolutely beautiful!! I’m adding this to my to do list. You are so good at explaining everything. Thanks for the great tutorial!! I hope you have a great day!! 😊💚😊💚
This is perfect for my granddaughter. She still has the baby blanket I made for her and she wants a bigger one (she's 13 now). She wants light blue and dark blue and I have been hunting for just the right pattern. Thank you!!
Lovely. Unfortunately my crochet hand is in a cast, so I'll have to wait. I have lots of Red Heart super saver. This would be a great stash buster. Thanks Michael
I just completed this throw for my daughter. It is lovely and she loves how it turned out with the ombre yarn. However, the two ways he demonstrates are completely different than the written pattern. The border is also different from the written pattern. I was happy with the way the pattern was written. I'm afraid this tutorial will cause a lot of confusion.
The pattern was updated from the original and may be slightly different. I find many people don't even do the border that is suggested on the patterns. In some cases, I think leaving the border off of the tutorial is sometimes better and I regret filming it. Thank you for your feedback. I did improvise to bring the square to a complete square, so there is a slight difference there as well.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Thank you for your response. I do have two questions. First, when the pattern just says Join, do you join to the ch 1 or the first stitch. Second, how did you do the math to make your round 11 work out to be square?
I’m going to say it..Mikey you are right. I would have done something similar. It just makes sense. Otherwise you are trying to make round “squares” fit together instead of really making them square to start with. The design of this square is really cool. However I feel like the original designer didn’t have enough experience or knowledge to turn something round into something square. It’s so much better your way. I would think your Afghan would be misshapen the other way. That being said this would make a gorgeous Afghan.
Designers have different thought processes. Most of the designs I do, there is always feedback and ways people would have done something I did in a different way. For myself, I put my hand on my forehead and slap it a few times thinking, WHY didn't I think of that. In this case, I don't think it's experience, I think it's us crocheters, who are looking at the project with fresh eyes and see a different avenue.
Can you check the pattern update dated June 9, 2021? It looks like Rounds 11 and 12 are different from what you described here and also the border is different than described here. Thank you for all you do Mikey.
The pattern was probably updated verses what I showed. I vaguely remember they updated. If you prefer the pattern, just follow that one but if you follow the video, you should be good to go. Probably just don't mix the two.
I'm really not sure. The sample hasn't been made that big. For a bed spread though, you may need to do the squares so you have 4 times the quantity prescribed. Maybe times the yarn amount by 4 and that would be a good starting point to decide.
This video was filmed last year. It depends if I am feeling well behind the scenes. Some videos I hear the playback and know I was sick. The sound system hasn't been changed.
If you want to make the blanket as per pattern you need to make 25. Here is the link to the pattern. The link to the pattern is pinned just under the video.
We have left handed version. Use the same title and use LEFT HAND in the search. It's also linked in the video description for the left handed version.

I really like this pattern. But like your squaring up of it. Your way is so much better.

Thanks. I do love the pattern too.
Working this in RH SS True Blue as a holiday present for my DIL. The motifs are large and work up quickly.
Excellent gift. The motifs are not too difficult and do go quick.
Very nice! 👍💚
Thanks for the visit
Oh its beautiful
Yeah, I love how each is a unique colour transition.
You're not saying you're right, but I will. 💙🧶
I'm not sure I know what you mean.
Harika görünüyor 👏👏🧿

I need to know how much yarn I'd need for a standard size bedspread 💕
I'm really not sure. The sample hasn't been made that big. For a bed spread though, you may need to do the squares so you have 4 times the quantity prescribed. Maybe times the yarn amount by 4 and that would be a good starting point to decide.

You're welcome.
When you sew it together do you use a solid color or ombre
Yes I would use the ombre.
Did you speed up the video? Your voice sounds very high pitched lately. No more deep voice Mikey?

How many squares should I make
