Ugh. There was this one guy from my school, who sadly moved away, he was “nerdy”. It was the cutest thing I’d ever seen, I told him how I felt a week before school ended (awful timing, I know) and I gave him my number but he never texted because my parents (who are super overprotective) put a thing on my phone where I can’t get messages or put in numbers from people who aren’t in my contacts, and I didn’t know that. I honestly miss him a lot, it’s been about 8 months since I last saw him, he’d always get really excited over Star Wars and I just listened for that reason, I’ve never even watched Star Wars. He also would get excited about chocolate, he made a presentation about chocolate in our only class together. I hope I can meet him again in the future LMAO he said he wanted to be an engineer of some sort so I guess I’ll look around for someone with his name who has a passion for engineering, Star Wars, and chocolate.

As a person who is super shy and clumsy despite being rude and cold, I’m surprised that people find those two flaws attractive. Everyone I’ve ever meant (kinda) doesn’t like me being shy cause I don’t know?? It’s annoying? And for clumsy.. people don’t like it cause you know I mess things up and keep getting bruises all over my legs, because I keep falling and tripping. So, I guess this makes me feel better about myself! Edit: The reason why I’m shy is due to the fact that I hate getting judged constantly. When I was younger I’m was much more confident, but then people started to make fun of me and laugh at me. So, I genuinely just started acting shy. I’m not that rude and cold, I won’t randomly just start acting mean to you. Though sometimes I happen to do that, my fault. I started acting cold and rude because of people, they started treated me badly, so as a defense I acted the same way. Even when people treat me nicely, I still act cold. This isn't just fluff talk, I as an individual find a lot of these "flaws" are more like character traits, and fun ones at that. Shy people are attractive because it's almost something like a slow-opening blossom. You get to see a new petal of them as they bloom with trust. The easily embarrassed are endearing, they're sensitive, and sometimes it's fun to make them blush a little in good nature and gentle fun, mainly because I've been there, and sometimes return to that point with certain people. So it is very relatable, and I have a better understanding of when is a good time to stop the teasing. The nerdy are attractive because it's so much fun to just have someone to gush over something with, or to watch them go on and on about why, and in so much detail, they love something. Even if they're spitting tangled Greek, just to see the excitement in their face and eyes as they pour their heart out is more than enough. So please keep being yourself.

This is totally true: my man is shy and easily embarrassed and I just melt every time he exhibits one of these traits. I'm at oversharer, and I also love my friends who are overshares. It makes me gravitate to them and we talk about what truly bothers us and support each other!
In my experience, oversharing tends to drive people away more often than not, which is why over the years I've actively worked on dialing it back. If asked, i'm an open book, but these days I don't divulge info that isn't directly asked for

Thank you so much! These are pretty much each one of my percieved shortcomings, and it's really empowering to hear that some people find them to be positive. Honestly, half of them were things I was specifically fretting over this morning and was why I booted up your channel today. While some of these sound like they may pertain to the female identifying a little more, I'm at least happy to hear that they're not specifically unattributable to men. Especially with the shyness and embarrassment thing. I get pretty bumbly and stammer when a girl is talking to me in a way not pertaining to an existing friendship or work/uni. And if she flirts with me? Forget about it. I will get very red in the face and my voice will abandon me. These, and others in the video, are big insecurities of mine. Having something like this, something so reassuring, it really helps give me that springboard I need to properly change my perception of these attributes from a begrudging anxiety to one of content acceptance. I really do appreciate all the work you and the rest of the team do. Truly. It's shocking that I never considered the idea that someone could like these things about me despite having a friend who likes these traits in men. I guess for some odd reason, I just believed that such positive perceptions couldn't apply to me. We really are our own worst enemies, huh?
Anything can be attractive but not just to everybody, each person is unique; while some may find shyness attractive, others prefer confidence and outgoing. There are so many things I am attracted to and the first is feeling confortable with that person; what are those traits you may ask; kindness, sincerity, easygoing, humbleness, smart, considered and compassionate, open minded and creative, funny, and most important a good heart… if I feel comfortable sharing time with someone is mostly because she has those virtues without me looking for it, I mean in a subconscious level; and If I feel the opposite means my brain got the signal that I have no space in my life for that person… feeling good and intimacy is where is at! ;)

About why being "nerdy" is viewed as a bad thing. I hate myself for being a nerd, 'cause I spent most of my life learning about useless things that won't make me successful in the future. It wouldn't be that bad if I had some interest that could make me successful, but that's exactly what I'm lacking.

That point for me is something im especially proud of! Not in the "it makes me better than other persons" kind of way but definetly nothing to be ashamed off! I used to be quite overweight, when I lost a lot of it, I still feel insecure about it, even though I'm not overweight anymore. I feel like nobody will like me sometimes, for both looks and personality wise. I feel like nobody will ever find me attractive. I'm trying to have peace with my flaws, but it's hard. Just keep going!
Weight is like 60% genetic, and you can even have a bulky build without being super overweight. Also, slightly overweight people are more huggable, so there is that. Anyways, the point I wanted to make is that weight isn't a big judgement point in my experience, and people often think they are more overweight then they actually are. Healthy BMI seems too overweight to most people lol

I think being shy while still being able to speak up when you need to is the thing people like. Trust me, I would know, staying quiet in a corner ain't gonna help anybody. You sit there alone for the rest of your life and you don't get to blame people for not knowing your body rotted in your home weeks ago. I learnt that in the hardest way possible. Being shy, shaky, face burning and all, but still trying to make connections with people, that is admirable and adorable to many, including myself. If you learn just what makes people stop and listen to you without needing to scream over them, they will. That only takes two things: confidence, and will.

Ugh. There was this one guy from my school, who sadly moved away, he was “nerdy”. It was the cutest thing I’d ever seen, I told him how I felt a week before school ended (awful timing, I know) and I gave him my number but he never texted because my parents (who are super overprotective) put a thing on my phone where I can’t get messages or put in numbers from people who aren’t in my contacts, and I didn’t know that. I honestly miss him a lot, it’s been about 8 months since I last saw him, he’d always get really excited over Star Wars and I just listened for that reason, I’ve never even watched Star Wars. He also would get excited about chocolate, he made a presentation about chocolate in our only class together. I hope I can meet him again in the future LMAO he said he wanted to be an engineer of some sort so I guess I’ll look around for someone with his name who has a passion for engineering, Star Wars, and chocolate.

As a person who is super shy and clumsy despite being rude and cold, I’m surprised that people find those two flaws attractive. Everyone I’ve ever meant (kinda) doesn’t like me being shy cause I don’t know?? It’s annoying? And for clumsy.. people don’t like it cause you know I mess things up and keep getting bruises all over my legs, because I keep falling and tripping. Edit: The reason why I’m shy is due to the fact that I hate getting judged constantly. When I was younger I’m was much more confident, but then people started to make fun of me and laugh at me. So, I genuinely just started acting shy.
Also, people don’t like me for being rude, cold, shy, and clumsy. They don’t like any of those; I didn’t explain this properly though. I’m not that rude and cold, I won’t randomly just start acting mean to you. Though sometimes I happen to do that, my fault. I started acting cold and rude because of people, they started treated me badly, so as a defense I acted the same way. Even when people treat me nicely, I still act cold. I’m working on that flaw and hopefully I’ll become nicer.

This isn't just fluff talk, I as an individual find a lot of these "flaws" are more like character traits, and fun ones at that.
Shy people are attractive because it's almost something like a slow-opening blossom. You get to see a new petal of them as they bloom with trust.
The easily embarrassed are endearing, they're sensitive, and sometimes it's fun to make them blush a little in good nature and gentle fun, mainly because I've been there, and sometimes return to that point with certain people. So it is very relatable, and I have a better understanding of when is a good time to stop the teasing.
The nerdy are attractive because it's so much fun to just have someone to gush over something with, or to watch them go on and on about why, and in so much detail, they love something. Even if they're spitting tangled Greek, just to see the excitement in their face and eyes as they pour their heart out is more than enough.
So please keep being yourself.

Thank you so much! These are pretty much each one of my percieved shortcomings, and it's really empowering to hear that some people find them to be positive. Honestly, half of them were things I was specifically fretting over this morning and was why I booted up your channel today.
While some of these sound like they may pertain to the female identifying a little more, I'm at least happy to hear that they're not specifically unattributable to men. Especially with the shyness and embarrassment thing. I get pretty bumbly and stammer when a girl is talking to me in a way not pertaining to an existing friendship or work/uni. And if she flirts with me? Forget about it. I will get very red in the face and my voice will abandon me.
These, and others in the video, are big insecurities of mine. Having something like this, something so reassuring, it really helps give me that springboard I need to properly change my perception of these attributes from a begrudging anxiety to one of content acceptance.
I really do appreciate all the work you and the rest of the team do. Truly. It's shocking that I never considered the idea that someone could like these things about me despite having a friend who likes these traits in men. I guess for some odd reason, I just believed that such positive perceptions couldn't apply to me. We really are our own worst enemies, huh?
Anything can be attractive but not just to everybody, each person is unique; while some may find shyness attractive, others prefer confidence and outgoing.
There are so many things I am attracted to and the first is feeling confortable with that person; what are those traits you may ask; kindness, sincerity, easygoing, humbleness, smart, considered and compassionate, open minded and creative, funny, and most important a good heart… if I feel comfortable sharing time with someone is mostly because she has those virtues without me looking for it, I mean in a subconscious level; and If I feel the opposite means my brain got the signal that I have no space in my life for that person… feeling good and intimacy is where is at! ;)

I’ve never heard someone say anything so accurate as number 6. I’ve always thought I was just being too pushy and that someone would hate me for that, turns out I couldn’t be further from the truth. I used to be quite overweight, when I lost a lot of it, I still feel insecure about it, even though I'm not overweight anymore. I feel like nobody will like me sometimes, for both looks and personality wise. I feel like nobody will ever find me attractive. I'm trying to have peace with my flaws, but it's hard. Just keep going!
Weight is like 60% genetic, and you can even have a bulky build without being super overweight. Also, slightly overweight people are more huggable, so there is that. Anyways, the point I wanted to make is that weight isn't a big judgement point in my experience, and people often think they are more overweight then they actually are. Healthy BMI seems too overweight to most people lol

I think being shy while still being able to speak up when you need to is the thing people like. Trust me, I would know, staying quiet in a corner ain't gonna help anybody. You sit there alone for the rest of your life and you don't get to blame people for not knowing your body rotted in your home weeks ago. I learnt that in the hardest way possible. Being shy, shaky, face burning and all, but still trying to make connections with people, that is admirable and adorable to many, including myself. If you learn just what makes people stop and listen to you without needing to scream over them, they will. That only takes two things: confidence, and will.
I think you’re just with the wrong crowd! Ive met people that are really talkative but also take the time to listen to quieter people. Some people just don’t know when to let others speak LMAO hang in there
It's more like when a person finds you already attractive and you are being shy around them they might think it's cute and it makes you even more attractive to them, but the initial attraction has to be there. Simply being shy does not attract anyone, confidence does. The same as being clumsy. Have you seen someone trip and think "omg, that was hot?" lol, no..
