No one is who they want to be and no one gets the life they want. Regardless of your reproductive organs; life is full of trials and tribulations, it doesn't matter what biological sex you are. I worked in a psychiatric in-patient unit in London for years and we had many patients who were having sever Agitated Depressive episodes half way through gender reassignment even though they had spent years in therapy to "prepare" EVERYONE of them hated the sex they were because of some negative life experience with that same sex roll model and fantasized that the "other sex" had it better or was better. They ALL were being treated for "agitated depression" because they found out reality was very different to their fantasy. I was shocked when I first started working there that the reason the NHS does the procedures is simply as a " suicide prevention strategy" I was chatting to the Chief Psychiatrist one day and asked him " Do all these years of therapy and multiple mutilation surgeries actually help the person mentally? He said, "Not usually, it just redirects them into being miserable in other ways ". ....What a mess!
I dont think you can discount the effect of changing your hormonal activity on your mental health either. I personally think dont think enough studies have been undertaken on the impact on levels of seratonin, dopamine, and other brain chemicals!
From many stories of detransitioners I've heard, they often say that they underlying problems (often things like: depression, childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, borderline pd, anorexia, other kinds of trauma or other mental issues) were not addressed, just brushed aside, everything was about "affirming" them as transgender and pushing for treatment, as if that was the main issue and the transition was the main cure.

Respectfully, I know transgenders who are not narcissists and are greatly empathetic. Not all transgenders are activists or celebrities or throw tantrums when not addressed as the right “gender” or force their choices onto others. How do we account for them? Sometimes I feel like all the anger and hatred comes from the fact that trans people for example trans woman want a certain level of validation from real women. And they do not get it because we are simply not the same. We have different experiences, we process things different in our brain. And they are mad about that lack of compassion.

The linguistic change away from sexual to gender identification is a benefit of longtime affluence with ever-changing restraints and liberation from social restriction. So a male foetus’s brain would be exposed to a bath of testosterone and for female foetus’s it would be oestrogen. Very rarely a hormonal imbalance occurs meaning for example a male foetus brain is exposed to a bath of oestrogen which effects the brains sexual development. That’s what creates the desire to be the opposite sex because we have the brain of the opposite sex and therefore think that of the opposite sex, it’s not some sexual desire. This mismatch between your brain and body in life causes a condition none as gender dysphoria.

Regards to the development of the brain in utero - they know that the brain can change through early experiences (neuro plasticity) so regarding you having a woman's brain - it hasn't been carved in stone yet if we develop our adult brain through birth or through our experiences like trauma etc (the nature/nurture debate still goes on).

The other piece to this is that we have a lot of autistic people falling victim to the transgender ideology. And I think this is because autistic people can be more trusting and impressionable and also because of the challenges with concrete and rigid thinking. So far, every person I've worked with at my practice who struggled with gender dysphoria has been autistic, and this confusion has manifested from trauma, peer influence, propaganda, OCD, social struggles and not knowing how to fit in, not fitting social/gender norms, self-hatred, loneliness, sexual fetish, sexual issues, etc. And, with how sensitive and smart autistic people are, it can be difficult to therapeutically confront them about it.

Like, the natural response that humans have is wired into our brains somehow that we know somethings not quite right about that person. Absolutely not, they themselves suffer often from the same fragmentation, and they do not know it. She became a little enraged, I replied politely but very firmly "if our Prime Minister ordered you to say the earth is flat, would you do it? Or if he ordered you to say 2 + 2 = 5, would you do it? Or if he ordered you to say the sun revolves around the earth would you do it? Or if he ordered you to say the earth is the center of the universe, would you do it?" I peppered her with about 10 such questions until I politely, but firmly forced her to stop and think. I won her over, then I threw her a bone knowing the answer in advance: "Tell you what, you show me even one video of a 'biologically born man delivering a baby', so no trans man, and I'll consider the trans argument." This throwing her a bone is a disarming technique, she informed me a week later she looked high and low for one such example. Frankly, this is what I was hoping for, she's now firmly back in the land of the sane.
I’m one of those women that transvestites and homosexuals dislike on an instinctual level. It used to bother me. I would wonder why I always got a feeling that they didn’t like me even when I tried, but when I thought about the kind of women who they tend to want to be around, I understood why.
My transgender grandson won’t speak to me now because I won’t use his new name and pronouns. It is sad, but I won’t go along with his fantasy or use forced speech. He doesn’t realize I love him and that I am concerned about the damage he is doing to his body which he will later regret.

Fully agree on Jordan's opinions on a mother's role. Growing up my dad was the fun one and my mom was the disciplinarian. Thank goodness she was like that. I love my departed father immensely but if my mother was like him I wouldn't have been as stable minded and respectable as I am now.
I have never had difficulty as a mother to draw the healthy boundaries to my children. As they matured and the level of reasoning with them could rise. Don’t say anything at all”. HE was ruggedly handsome as a MAN, but ugly as a Woman. I can not accept what is not TRUE. I grew up on a farm. After an Mama animal gives birth. After a few months, MAMA will start pushing offspring away in a nice way & become rather aggressive when she has had enough of nursing. The ‘growing up’ is an awesome TRANSition to witness. I don’t know why people don’t just except the way they look. I used to do the whole hair and nails and full make up about seven months ago. I would spend hours on these silly things. I threw everything in the trash when my love affair went south. I cut my hair so that I only had to run a comb through it and it was done. Every item of makeup that I owned went in the trash. I love the way I am now and I am me what you see is what you get warts and all. I remember a time not so long ago where young women where doing their faces to look like cats, bunnies or foxes. They even had the cat ear or fox ear head bands. They wanted to look like their favourite animal. You would see them walking down the street looking like this. I don’t understand the whole trans thing but I just keep to my self when I am out. I don’t care what people wear anymore or what they do. I think just trying to stay alive on a daily bases is difficult today with all the insanity going on.
Yup. The "I'm expected to play along" part is what irks me. I would add that, for a very physically attractive woman, one who really works at that attractiveness, not acknowledging her attractiveness or. worse, rejecting it, presents a very similar psychological insult to said woman. Especially today, given the endless opportunities for affirmation of physical attractiveness, it is understandable that those physical qualities alone become the core of some women's identities. So any perceived challenge to that physical attractiveness becomes a threat to her very identity.

Sexual trauma at any age can I believe contribute to this. I know an adult man, falsely accused of rape by his now ex wife, who has undergone a sex change. His father thinks it is in reaction to this, that he can’t possibly be a rapist if he is a woman. He was incredibly distressed by it. He also has ASD. And does not present in any way as female, even post surgery. And of course he now has this huge vociferous club to belong to 😕
I would add to this discussion, that there are also people who genuinely, biologically do not encompass the binary. There are hermaphroditic people, and hermaphroditism presents on a spectrum. Thus, there are genuinely people who are not of the physical, binary construct being discussed here. I'm not saying this is the case with all who identify as transgender; rather, I am merely looking to expand the discussion with the understanding that there is more complexity to this topic than what is discussed in this short video.
I have struggled with feelings consistent with autogynephilia for a long time. I am a 73-year-old retired general surgeon. I am active in my Christian faith and have been all my life. I was married for 35 years. We had one girl and three boys. They are very bright and successful, but required considerable tutoring to help them overcome a substantial weakness in inductive reasoning. I was instructed by PhD psychologists who tested them that I should point out the main ideas of what they read and do research projects with them in science and history. I spent a total of 6-12 hours a day with each of them for a total of 17 years doing this and consequently became very close to each of them as a very male heterosexual compassionate father. Fortunately, strong urges to appear female did not surface until our last child went off to college. I have good reason to believe I was exposed to the potent hormone disruptor diethystilbestrol (DES) in uterine as well as DDT and lead and other heavy metals that are known to have hormone disrupting properties. Millions besides myself were also exposed. I don’t think exposure to toxins, mutagens, newer less well studied hormone disruptors as well as the effects of toxic environmental factors such as trauma to the mother-child relationship and child abuse are given the attention and research effort they deserve as opposed to the notion that poor choices of attitude and behavior are the most likely causal factors in transgender conditions. Unfortunately, I believe that research in this area is also hindered by the fact that many affected by transgender conditions like these conditions and would prefer that cures not be found. I am not one of these people. I have spent years in therapy of one kind or another and all sorts of physician prescribed medications to diminish or eliminate these urges. I actually succeeded in finding a regimen that worked wonderfully for a year and a half but then caused some serious side effects requiring that it be discontinued. I believe I proved however that at least for me autogynephilia was chemical with potentially a chemical solution. I have observed the narcissism you describe but I have also observed many autogynephilic males who do not display the narcissism you describe particularly among the members of Tri -Ess, an organization that has provided support for such persons for decades. I think a broader approach is needed to properly address the issues of transgenderism.
Jordan is awesome. I think it’s even simpler than how he explains. Many people grow up when as kids or early adults realizing that their personality doesn’t fit in the cultural norm because they don’t have the basic attributes; looks, body type, etc. therefore, they know they will have a hard time fitting in. So, they decide to simply say they are not actually in the right body. It’s simply a easy way to be emotionally lazy by not accepting yourself or not working on yourself. And now, with an enabling society where the progressive left is more concerned about feelings than character; we spawn this narcissistic behavior.

I stopped watching the news for ten years, and one of the few things that had changed was hearing everyone talk about narcissism. I knew the famous myth, but this is a major, recent fad. Does anyone know how it started?
I have heard that there was a person in Israel who came up with the new idea of the psychology of narcissism in the 1970's or there abouts. Please check this out for yourself. I might be wrong about it. I have no idea how it developed from there. Best wishes.
Pre access to media and pre internet and social media, only people who studied psychology, psychiatry, social work, etc would have learned about the diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It was not public knowledge. It is likely it was as prevalent 200 years ago as it is now. Or perhaps not - but ongoing research will guide us. As social media and access to professional information and popular psychology has increased, so has the awareness of Narcissism. As with other concepts though like legal and political ideas, the knowledge of this disorder is often, at least in the public domain, superficial, distorted and sometimes just completely wrong. Likewise, understanding the psychodynamics of parenting and families who might have a transgender child, or an anxious child, it is very important to not only constantly strive for knowledge, but also to communicate non-judgemental compassion about the experience and challenges that the individual faces. People with the full blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder seldom seek help and if they do, they seldom last beyond one or two sessions. The transgender or gender fluid population is as prone to a range of mental illnesses as the general population. There are so many who have experienced ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and trauma that none of us are likely to be 'normal'.
Im almost 4 decades post-op. For me it was a personal mind and body mismatch issue that I needed to fix ASAP. It was not anyone else's problem and i was not going to make it anyone else's problem. I began saving money to pay for my surgeries when i was 13. I was even put through transexualism cure treatments when i was 13 back in 1977. I was thrown out of the family home at age 15 when the cure treatment's failed to change or deter me. That was the happiest day of my life i was free to take charge of my own life and destiny. I recall my GIC psychiatrist telling me SRS would be the right path for me. I then asked if my name could go on the NHS waiting list. I was told that I was too young. I then pointed out to him that by the time my name would get closer to the top of the list I may be hold enough. So he agreed to put my name on the list. I then asked if it was OK to go have my breast augmentation done privately. He gave me his blessing. On my next visit I then asked if he would give me his blessing to go privately for my SRS. Which he did. All along I had planned to go privately but i knew not to ruffle the feathers of those making the decision. I went on to be one of the UK's youngest at that time to complete my surgery. I then disappeared back into the woodwork with my partner/husband for the next 31 years, only resurfacing after my husband's sudden death Christmas 2012. I looked online for a Post-Op Transsexual widow support group but i did not find one. All I found were angry in your face feetstamping transfolk making demands and trampling all over woman's rights as if they don't even matter. I struggle to relate to many of todays transfolk. Like i said I am an old school Post-Op Transsexual who is closing on 4 decades Post-Op. Lots of what I see today from the trans community is utter madness at its best ! Its gone from transsexuals fixing a personal mind and body mismatch issue with one's self and then getting on with our lives unnoticed as best we can. To folk now who do not want to make any effort to be what they claim to be who actually thrive on the attention and privileges it grants them under the term transgender with all these new woke laws etc. Many are out to make others around them change their perceptions of what a woman is or fall foul of the woke policing. It is lunacy at its best. I get labelled at TERF quite often because I will not side with these folks and their crazy demands and expectations. Transsexuals should not even be lumped under the term transgender as far as i am concerned. It's not even in the same postcode. I find all this very demeaning of all I went through and suffered growing up in the 1960's 1970's and early 1980s to be happy within my own skin. They tried to force me to change who I was back in 1977 when I was only 13 at county asylums stanley-royd wakefield . They could not force me to change who I was or deter me and that taught me that it would be just as wrong to try to force people to understand or accept me too. My intentions and actions back then were to change myself so I could be happy within my own skin, not to force the world around me to change or pay the price. What was done to me at age 13 was wrong, but what I see happening now in the trans world as swung to the opposite extreme by encouraging children to take the path they are. There are different definitions of the word TRANSGENDER , The most prevalent is those who are political in nature and refers to anyone who considers themselves as different in terms of sex or gender. Most transsexual persons refuse to be lumped in with the TG Community, but others like non-op TG persons see political value in working together. A transgender person is someone who deliberately lives in a way opposed to their physical sex. For example, if a person is born with female genitalia and wants to keep it, but expresses and feels that they are a boy mentally, then they are transgender. Transsexual and transgender is not the same thing as transsexual is only applicable to those born with a need to correct their genitals as best they can, while most transgender people desire to keep their original genitalia. A person is born with transsexualism,the whole idea of the surgery is to stop having transsexualism and to get on with life as if they never had the condition. For me and many of my old friends it was important to fix our mind and body mismatch ASAP and then get on with our lives. Often going stealth and only letting those who need to know about our past know. The term transgender covers a wide spectrum of different folks. Most of whom are more vocal/visible. Hence more well known by the public online and offline as they tend to go out of their way to make their presence known and felt. Where as many of use old school transsexual's the aim was to fix the issue and move on with our lives unnoticed. Many of us had to make big sacrifices like losing family members and old friends and moving to avoid publicity at times. As that for us would defeat the whole object of fixing the issues we had with ourselves in the 1st place. For us it is not a badge we wear. Just a distant unhappy memory we rather leave behind us and not dwell on. This leads to our side of the story being less heard by the public, leaving them to assuming the outspoken ones most often seen kicking off on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & RUclips etc are what its all about for all under the umbrella term transgender. Which is not the case at all. There are many of us out there in the world that can hold conversations with folk who disagree with us without resorting to branding them transphobic or getting catty and bitchy. It's a shame so many of these outspoken trans folks will brand someone transphobic at the drop of a hat yet forget it took themselves years to understand and accept their own situation. Bit hypocritical if you ask me. But hey that's what happens when what it is to be transsexual gets hijacked and turn in to a trans radical agenda/movement. It's now become a money spinner for many. It's like reality TV with a large helping of soap opera thrown in for good measure. Fed to an ever growing gullible audience grasping at straws. They have only gotten away with it for so long because transsexuals tend to avoid outing themselves as it defeats the object of fixing the mind and body mismatch in the 1st place if you're going to and broadcast that you did it. I'm older now my husband as passed away I have nothing to loose and some one needs to speak up for the genuine transsexuals and point out the difference that the transgender agenda as tried to blur. I did my SRS in the beginning of the1980s then I just got on with my life with my late husband after my surgery. So was quite shocked when after my husband sudden death 31 years later and I went searching for a Post-op Transsexual widows support group and only found the embarrassing radical transgender agenda movement crap online that only serves to make a mockery of what it is to be Transsexual and trample all over women right as if they don't even matter. Many of today's trans folk are a breed unto themselves who lack empathy for women and women's rights. I find all this shameful, embarrassing and hurtful. My advice to anyone who is planning to come out as trans, is to invest in some big girl knickers 1st and stop trampling all over women's rights. On a side note I was amongst one of the 1st to be legally allowed to apply from my gender recognition certificate. As it was offered to those of us who were over 7 year Post-Op or longer 1st to clear the backlog of those of us who had been waiting decades for that day to come. I looked into it and decided I did not need to get mine. Since then the requirements needed to apply for the gender recognition certificate have changed drastically to include non-op so basically anyone who decided they wish to identify as female. So for me it's now not even worth the paper it's printed on and is demeaning of all I suffered growing up in the 60s 70s & 80s to be happy within my own skin. Of course women have reasons to be concerned about this. Even I do not feel safe around many of today's folks claiming to be trans. It covers such a wide spectrum of weird and wonderful people, many of whom do not have womens best interests at heart.
Thank you very much for representing exactly what people who are Trans really think. I never believed in those thing, me being a heterosexual male, was always taught ppl like you are weirdos. With that in mind. I always knew that someone who, like you, were SERIOUS. It couldn't be just another fetish or sexual kink. Listening to ppl like you helps me erase my prejudices and preconceived ideas of the former. And I do think telling children that their sex is just a "social construct" is wrong. @@jaed2630 It should not taught in schools. The fact that there was no mention of it when i was in school is what helped confirm to me that i was differet. It seems now many schools are telling kids this is an option. All that will do is confuse and encourage some to experiment in something that would've never of crossed thier minds otherwise. This will mess up way more kids minds than it would help in the tiny tiny minority who would grow up to be transsexual regardless. Kids do not need to be spoon fed this crap. Schools need to let them be kids and stop trying to mold them in to something they are not. My late husband was transphobic when we first met. He had the same preconceived ideas. I was totally unaware of this. I liked him from day 1 of meeting him but I never told him. I was not looking to get involved with anyone ! I needed to complete all my surgeries and be comfortable within my own skin first. It turned out he liked me too but he also kept that to himself too. As it was messing with his head. Over the next few years we developed a close friendship. He asked me to be his girlfriend when I was 15 but I said no that I was not ready for that. And explained I needed to complete my SRS 1st. That I had to sort my own life out 1st and be comfortable within my own body before I could even think about committing to anyone else. He was understanding and patient and said he would be willing to wait till I was ready as long as we could remain friends. Which we did. He would ask me a few times over the next few years and i alway said no. He did not ask that often that it put me off him but often enough to let me know he still felt the same way about me. The last time he asked me was 2 months before my surgery. He said not to reply until he had finished saying what he had to say. So I just listened to him. He told me that he wanted me to move in at the weekend with him. That he was not prepared for his future wife to go through such a life changing event alone with no one there to care for her. He said move in with me and we can prepare for it and I will be the one to look after you. Long story short I moved in & we prepared for the day of my SRS. He went with me on that day to the hospital and was told to leave it 2 days before visiting as I would not be up to the visitors. I ended up calling him within minutes of me coming round in my room ! I came round to an awful experience the moment I opened my eyes involving things being said to me by the ward sister there that evening. I called him and said you either come get me and bring me home or I'm going to lose it if the sister shows her face in my room again. He was there by my side within the hour and the staff nurse got fired from her job. He calmed me down and convinced me I needed to stay in the hospital. On the 2nd day after my surgery, which was my birthday, he turned up and put a ring on my finger saying I want you to come home as my wife. If you accept this ring you need to understand I will never ever leave you. You are stuck with me for life, until the day either your heart or mine beats its last beat, and that is exactly what he did.

Not old or knowledgable enough to know if the past generation of Americans were this radical but something really seems to be wrong with the latest generation of western youth. Seems hyper sensitive, emotional and destructive over so many trivial things to include politics.
Well the 60s were quite radical when youth created their own culture. It was thought we'd gone mad , influenced by the devil's music ! It all levelled out in time and some good came out of it, like protesting against the Vietnam war. Quite a lot of young men were killed needlessly and others maimed and mentally damaged for life They just wanted to be listened to, as do these poor people Sometimes you have to go to extremes to get people to understand you
Imagine looking in the mirror and seeing the most reprehensible, horrible being you could imagine. Yourself with all your flaws. Now, if you tried to lie to yourself and pretend that this was not there and that you had not gazed into the horrors that is 'you', any suggestion by anyone that correlated only slightly to this 'real' you and not blindly accepted the illusion you created would undermine this illusion, forcing an emotional outburst. It's like the death of a protective persona.
Just a reminder that clothes will never be our true self and dressing like the opposite sex is supposed to look like isn't really changing anyone's anatomy, only makes some people uncomfortable (and I'm not talking about hormones and surgeries).
Surely accepting your body has to be a core part of stable mental health and psychology. That’s your body - own it, value it, be kind to it. Not despising it, denying it, taking a knife to it. Any Zen monk would tell you to “sit down, turn your phone off, shut up and learn to meditate.” Peace will follow.
This makes good sense. What's interesting is that it seems more boys feel they are girls than vice versa. Perhaps they are indeed stuck in the "terrible twos." I find it strange as hell that Bruce Jenner took so many years to become Caitlin. I get that he was a big star and all but find it very sad and maybe a personality disorder that he was afraid to tell anybody like his parents and first wife about it. It's always dangerous for men to stuff their bad feelings down inside and it can lead to suicide. Really sad.
In 1990 at age 21 I moved to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. I remember being a little shocked when I saw a 300 pound man wearing a mumu dress and he obviously identified as a woman, but what was even more shocking was that nobody seemed to care. It turns out that throughout the Polynesian Islands the concept of trans gender has been around for 100's if not 1000's of years. In the late 1700's Captain Bligh (from the famous Mutiny on the Bounty story) wrote in his log book about men in Tahiti that were extremely effeminate, lived as women and were not only tolerated but respected and embraced as caregivers to children and the elderly, and in some cases they were even married to biological men. Not to get side tracked, but the reason for the mutiny on the Bounty was that some of the sailors had married local women and they didn't want to leave Tahiti, and I think it's very safe to say that some of the sailors also had relations with the local trans women. Since Hawaii and Polynesia are known as warrior cultures I find it very interesting how trans women can coexist with very macho men in a culture with traditional family values seemingly without any issues. I wonder how it began in Polynesia. Do you think that centuries ago trans women in Polynesia held rallies and protests and demanded respect, demanded their rights and demanded their own pronouns ? Or do you think that perhaps it happened organically by them being humble and showing their worth - thus earning respect ?? 🤔It's very bizarre that nowadays one side thinks that this is some kind psychiatric problem that's going to poison our children because I've seen plenty of kids in Hawaii that are completely "normal" and virtually un-affected by this issue. I also find it bizarre that the other side seems to think that earning respect is such an antiquated and even offensive idea. I think that it just comes down to tolerance, being tolerant of people that are different than you and people that feel different being tolerant of people that want to hold on to their traditional values. Tolerance goes both ways - no pun intended 😉

I worked in a psychiatric in-patient unit in London for years and we had many patients who were having sever Agitated Depressive episodes half way through gender reassignment even though they had spent years in therapy to "prepare" EVERYONE of them hated the sex they were because of some negative life experience with that same sex roll model and fantasized that the "other sex" had it better or was better. They ALL were being treated for "agitated depression" because they found out reality was very different to their fantasy. I was shocked when I first started working there that the reason the NHS does the procedures is simply as a " suicide prevention strategy" I was chatting to the Chief Psychiatrist one day and asked him " Do all these years of therapy and multiple mutilation surgeries actually help the person mentally? He said, "Not usually, it just redirects them into being miserable in other ways ". ....What a mess!

I dont think you can discount the effect of changing your hormonal activity on your mental health either. I personally think dont think enough studies have been undertaken on the impact on levels of seratonin, dopamine, and other brain chemicals!
From many stories of detransitioners I've heard, they often say that they underlying problems (often things like: depression, childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, borderline pd, anorexia, other kinds of trauma or other mental issues) were not addressed, just brushed aside, everything was about "affirming" them as transgender and pushing for treatment, as if that was the main issue and the transition was the main cure.

Respectfully, I know transgenders who are not narcissists and are greatly empathetic. Not all transgenders are activists or celebrities or throw tantrums when not addressed as the right “gender” or force their choices onto others. How do we account for them? Seems like these two have issue with narcissism in general and we can all agree on that.

I'm glad someone apart from myself finally made the connection between transgenders and Narcissism. And since narcissism is caused by trauma in childhood, I will jump to the conclusion that trans identity is also a consequence of early life trauma
That conclusion is based on a generalisation. And a simplistic, black or white view that is that all trans people can’t see any differences between themselves and the sex they identify as, that we’re delusional in the sense that what we see in the mirror and what we think of ourselves is not based in reality. And that all of us expect everyone around us to bow down and agree to everything we want to be referred to. This is very flawed and I’d suggest u look at people like buck angle, Blaire white who’s very existence online dismantle the arguments made in this video. I myself am similar. I trans people don’t look in the mirror and see something different from reality. It’s the opposite. We look in the mirror, see we look like the sex we don’t want to be and seek to change it. If we we’re all delusional enough to look in the mirror and see what we want to see then what would be the point of growing my hair out, wearing make up and trying to look like the opposite sex? Why would I do that if I thought I naturally already looked like a girl or already thought I was a girl? Yours and Petersons argument is so based out of reality it’s ironic.
However what I do understand is how woke this community is and how both the people in this video are probably correct about the autogynophiles and explains de transitioners mindset prior transitioning. At the end of the day I am grounded in reality. I can’t get pregnant, can’t have a period, I have xy chromosomes, I’m biologically male and I’ll die that way. I know that stuff. But unfortunately nature wasn’t so kind to me and a hormonal imbalance took place in the womb causing my brain to develop opposingly to the sex of my body. During Fetal development your brain is exposed to a bath of hormone’s that effect’s it’s sexually development. So a male foetus’s brain would be exposed to a bath of testosterone and for female foetus’s it would be oestrogen. Very rarely a hormonal imbalance occurs meaning for example a male foetus brain is exposed to a bath of oestrogen which effects the brains sexual development. That’s what creates the desire to be the opposite sex because we have the brain of the opposite sex and therefore think that of the opposite sex, it’s not some sexual desire. This mismatch between your brain and body in life causes a condition none as gender dysphoria.

Regards to the development of the brain in utero - they know that the brain can change through early experiences (neuro plasticity) so regarding you having a woman's brain - it hasn't been carved in stone yet if we develop our adult brain through birth or through our experiences like trauma etc (the nature/nurture debate still goes on).

The other piece to this is that we have a lot of autistic people falling victim to the transgender ideology. And I think this is because autistic people can be more trusting and impressionable and also because of the challenges with concrete and rigid thinking. So far, every person I've worked with at my practice who struggled with gender dysphoria has been autistic, and this confusion has manifested from trauma, peer influence, propaganda, OCD, social struggles and not knowing how to fit in, not fitting social/gender norms, self-hatred, loneliness, sexual fetish, sexual issues, etc. And, with how sensitive and smart autistic people are, it can be difficult to therapeutically confront them about it.

Like, the natural response that humans have is wired into our brains somehow that we know somethings not quite right about that person. When the baby had to pee she would hold it over the bushes. An anthropologist observing one of them said, how do you know when to do that? The mother said, how do you know when you have to go?
That’s the level of connection that I’m talking about. So we need to figure out how to stay that connected to our infants.
Because by causing children to have to split off and not develop, were destroying our world. We have evolved scientifically and technologically, but we have not evolved emotionally. In fact the reverse is true. people who are fragmented from their true selves are making choices to destroy this world. And it will continue. Are psychologist aware of this? Absolutely not, they themselves suffer often from the same fragmentation, and they do not know it. It’s very overt in the instance of people becoming a different sex, but often humans on the surface appear “ normal”.

Couldn't agree more with your comment! Recently I had a "trans" discussion with a business associate. She became a little enraged, I replied politely but very firmly "if our Prime Minister ordered you to say the earth is flat, would you do it? Or if he ordered you to say 2 + 2 = 5, would you do it? Or if he ordered you to say the sun revolves around the earth would you do it? Or if he ordered you to say the earth is the center of the universe, would you do it?" I peppered her with about 10 such questions until I politely, but firmly forced her to stop and think. I won her over, then I threw her a bone knowing the answer in advance: "Tell you what, you show me even one video of a 'biologically born man delivering a baby', so no trans man, and I'll consider the trans argument." This throwing her a bone is a disarming technique, she informed me a week later she looked high and low for one such example. Frankly, this is what I was hoping for, she's now firmly back in the land of the sane.
I’m one of those women that transvestites and homosexuals dislike on an instinctual level. It used to bother me. I would wonder why I always got a feeling that they didn’t like me even when I tried, but when I thought about the kind of women who they tend to want to be around, I understood why.

My transgender grandson won’t speak to me now because I won’t use his new name and pronouns. It is sad, but I won’t go along with his fantasy or use forced speech. He doesn’t realize I love him and that I am concerned about the damage he is doing to his body which he will later regret.

Fully agree on Jordan's opinions on a mother's role. Growing up my dad was the fun one and my mom was the disciplinarian. Thank goodness she was like that. I love my departed father immensely but if my mother was like him I wouldn't have been as stable minded and respectable as I am now.

These two talking and giving their educated,intellectual insights on the subject of transgender roots felt familiar and fascinating.
This topic & your conversation has brought a sense of relief because it makes sense. A customer of mine, for years, I knew as a Masculine MAN WITH A MAN NAME -“MR” name. He had a rugged masculine face, hands, walk, deep voice & physic. Did not see him for many months, maybe year or so. Due to My schedules changing & maybe HIS too.!!?!? Well, HE came back as a Her!!!! While I am TRYING to be polite , This person expected me to ACCEPT he/her & LIE to myself. My facial expression was in total disbelief. I was sadden for him/her. “If you can’t say anything nice. Don’t say anything at all”. HE was ruggedly handsome as a MAN, but ugly as a Woman. I can not accept what is not TRUE. I grew up on a farm. After an Mama animal gives birth. To watch the natural changes develop between mama & offspring is so rewarding . After a few months, MAMA will start pushing offspring away in a nice way & become rather aggressive when she has had enough of nursing. The ‘growing up’ is an awesome TRANSition to witness. I don’t know why people don’t just except the way they look. I used to do the whole hair and nails and full make up about seven months ago. I would spend hours on these silly things. I threw everything in the trash when my love affair went south. I cut my hair so that I only had to run a comb through it and it was done. Every item of makeup that I owned went in the trash. I love the way I am now and I am me what you see is what you get warts and all. I remember a time not so long ago where young women where doing their faces to look like cats, bunnies or foxes. They even had the cat ear or fox ear head bands. They wanted to look like their favourite animal. You would see them walking down the street looking like this. I don’t understand the whole trans thing but I just keep to my self when I am out. I don’t care what people wear anymore or what they do. I think just trying to stay alive on a daily bases is difficult today with all the insanity going on.

I would add that, for a very physically attractive woman, one who really works at that attractiveness, not acknowledging her attractiveness or. worse, rejecting it, presents a very similar psychological insult to said woman. Especially today, given the endless opportunities for affirmation of physical attractiveness, it is understandable that those physical qualities alone become the core of some women's identities. So any perceived challenge to that physical attractiveness becomes a threat to her very identity.

Sexual trauma at any age can I believe contribute to this. I know an adult man, falsely accused of rape by his now ex wife, who has undergone a sex change. His father thinks it is in reaction to this, that he can’t possibly be a rapist if he is a woman. He was incredibly distressed by it. He also has ASD. And does not present in any way as female, even post surgery. And of course he now has this huge vociferous club to belong to 😕
I would add to this discussion, that there are also people who genuinely, biologically do not encompass the binary. There are hermaphroditic people, and hermaphroditism presents on a spectrum. Thus, there are genuinely people who are not of the physical, binary construct being discussed here. I'm not saying this is the case with all who identify as transgender; rather, I am merely looking to expand the discussion with the understanding that there is more complexity to this topic than what is discussed in this short video.
I have struggled with feelings consistent with autogynephilia for a long time. I am a 73-year-old retired general surgeon. I am active in my Christian faith and have been all my life. I was married for 35 years. We had one girl and three boys. They are very bright and successful, but required considerable tutoring to help them overcome a substantial weakness in inductive reasoning. I was instructed by PhD psychologists who tested them that I should point out the main ideas of what they read and do research projects with them in science and history. I spent a total of 6-12 hours a day with each of them for a total of 17 years doing this and consequently became very close to each of them as a very male heterosexual compassionate father. Fortunately, strong urges to appear female did not surface until our last child went off to college. I have good reason to believe I was exposed to the potent hormone disruptor diethystilbestrol (DES) in uterine as well as DDT and lead and other heavy metals that are known to have hormone disrupting properties. Millions besides myself were also exposed. I don’t think exposure to toxins, mutagens, newer less well studied hormone disruptors as well as the effects of toxic environmental factors such as trauma to the mother-child relationship and child abuse are given the attention and research effort they deserve as opposed to the notion that poor choices of attitude and behavior are the most likely causal factors in transgender conditions. Unfortunately, I believe that research in this area is also hindered by the fact that many affected by transgender conditions like these conditions and would prefer that cures not be found. I am not one of these people. I have spent years in therapy of one kind or another and all sorts of physician prescribed medications to diminish or eliminate these urges. I actually succeeded in finding a regimen that worked wonderfully for a year and a half but then caused some serious side effects requiring that it be discontinued. I believe I proved however that at least for me autogynephilia was chemical with potentially a chemical solution. I have observed the narcissism you describe but I have also observed many autogynephilic males who do not display the narcissism you describe particularly among the members of Tri -Ess, an organization that has provided support for such persons for decades. I think a broader approach is needed to properly address the issues of transgenderism.

Jordan is awesome. I think it’s even simpler than how he explains. Many people grow up when as kids or early adults realizing that their personality doesn’t fit in the cultural norm because they don’t have the basic attributes; looks, body type, etc. therefore, they know they will have a hard time fitting in. So, they decide to simply say they are not actually in the right body. It’s simply a easy way to be emotionally lazy by not accepting yourself or not working on yourself. And now, with an enabling society where the progressive left is more concerned about feelings than character; we spawn this narcissistic behavior.

I stopped watching the news for ten years, and one of the few things that had changed was hearing everyone talk about narcissism. I knew the famous myth, but this is a major, recent fad. Does anyone know how it started?
I have heard that there was a person in Israel who came up with the new idea of the psychology of narcissism in the 1970's or there abouts. Please check this out for yourself. I might be wrong about it. I have no idea how it developed from there. Best wishes.

Pre access to media and pre internet and social media, only people who studied psychology, psychiatry, social work, etc would have learned about the diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It was not public knowledge. It is likely it was as prevalent 200 years ago as it is now. Or perhaps not - but ongoing research will guide us.
As social media and access to professional information and popular psychology has increased, so has the awareness of Narcissism.
As with other concepts though like legal and political ideas, the knowledge of this disorder is often, at least in the public domain, superficial, distorted and sometimes just completely wrong.
Likewise, understanding the psychodynamics of parenting and families who might have a transgender child, or an anxious child, it is very important to not only constantly strive for knowledge, but also to communicate non-judgemental compassion about the experience and challenges that the individual faces. People with the full blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder seldom seek help and if they do, they seldom last beyond one or two sessions. The transgender or gender fluid population is as prone to a range of mental illnesses as the general population. There are so many who have experienced ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and trauma that none of us are likely to be 'normal'.

To grow to be beautiful was always my unattainable goal, l could afford surgery to correct everything but l,ve decided to accept my plainness.
Im almost 4 decades post-op. For me it was a personal mind and body mismatch issue that I needed to fix ASAP. It was not anyone else's problem and i was not going to make it anyone else's problem.
I began saving money to pay for my surgeries when i was 13. I was even put through transexualism cure treatments when i was 13 back in 1977. I was thrown out of the family home at age 15 when the cure treatment's failed to change or deter me. That was the happiest day of my life i was free to take charge of my own life and destiny.
I recall my GIC psychiatrist telling me SRS would be the right path for me. I then asked if my name could go on the NHS waiting list. I was told that I was too young. I then pointed out to him that by the time my name would get closer to the top of the list I may be hold enough. So he agreed to put my name on the list. I then asked if it was OK to go have my breast augmentation done privately. He gave me his blessing.
On my next visit I then asked if he would give me his blessing to go privately for my SRS. Which he did.
All along I had planned to go privately but i knew not to ruffle the feathers of those making the decision. I went on to be one of the UK's youngest at that time to complete my surgery.
I then disappeared back into the woodwork with my partner/husband for the next 31 years, only resurfacing after my husband's sudden death Christmas 2012. I looked online for a Post-Op Transsexual widow support group but i did not find one. All I found were angry in your face feetstamping transfolk making demands and trampling all over woman's rights as if they don't even matter. I struggle to relate to many of todays transfolk.
Like i said I am an old school Post-Op Transsexual who is closing on 4 decades Post-Op. Lots of what I see today from the trans community is utter madness at its best !
Its gone from transsexuals fixing a personal mind and body mismatch issue with one's self and then getting on with our lives unnoticed as best we can. To folk now who do not want to make any effort to be what they claim to be who actually thrive on the attention and privileges it grants them under the term transgender with all these new woke laws etc. Many are out to make others around them change their perceptions of what a woman is or fall foul of the woke policing. It is lunacy at its best. I get labelled at TERF quite often because I will not side with these folks and their crazy demands and expectations.
Transsexuals should not even be lumped under the term transgender as far as i am concerned. It's not even in the same postcode. I find all this very demeaning of all I went through and suffered growing up in the 1960's 1970's and early 1980s to be happy within my own skin.
They tried to force me to change who I was back in 1977 when I was only 13 at county asylums stanley-royd wakefield . They could not force me to change who I was or deter me and that taught me that it would be just as wrong to try to force people to understand or accept me too. My intentions and actions back then were to change myself so I could be happy within my own skin, not to force the world around me to change or pay the price. What was done to me at age 13 was wrong, but what I see happening now in the trans world as swung to the opposite extreme by encouraging children to take the path they are.
There are different definitions of the word TRANSGENDER , The most prevalent is those who are political in nature and refers to anyone who considers themselves as different in terms of sex or gender. Most transsexual persons refuse to be lumped in with the TG Community, but others like non-op TG persons see political value in working together.
A transgender person is someone who deliberately lives in a way opposed to their physical sex. For example, if a person is born with female genitalia and wants to keep it, but expresses and feels that they are a boy mentally, then they are transgender. Transsexual and transgender is not the same thing as transsexual is only applicable to those born with a need to correct their genitals as best they can, while most transgender people desire to keep their original genitalia. A person is born with transsexualism,the whole idea of the surgery is to stop having transsexualism and to get on with life as if they never had the condition. For me and many of my old friends it was important to fix our mind and body mismatch ASAP and then get on with our lives. Often going stealth and only letting those who need to know about our past know.
The term transgender covers a wide spectrum of different folks. Most of whom are more vocal/visible. Hence more well known by the public online and offline as they tend to go out of their way to make their presence known and felt. Where as many of use old school transsexual's the aim was to fix the issue and move on with our lives unnoticed. Many of us had to make big sacrifices like losing family members and old friends and moving to avoid publicity at times. As that for us would defeat the whole object of fixing the issues we had with ourselves in the 1st place. For us it is not a badge we wear. Just a distant unhappy memory we rather leave behind us and not dwell on.
This leads to our side of the story being less heard by the public, leaving them to assuming the outspoken ones most often seen kicking off on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & RUclips etc are what its all about for all under the umbrella term transgender. Which is not the case at all. There are many of us out there in the world that can hold conversations with folk who disagree with us without resorting to branding them transphobic or getting catty and bitchy. It's a shame so many of these outspoken trans folks will brand someone transphobic at the drop of a hat yet forget it took themselves years to understand and accept their own situation. Bit hypocritical if you ask me. But hey that's what happens when what it is to be transsexual gets hijacked and turn in to a trans radical agenda/movement. It's now become a money spinner for many. It's like reality TV with a large helping of soap opera thrown in for good measure. Fed to an ever growing gullible audience grasping at straws.
They have only gotten away with it for so long because transsexuals tend to avoid outing themselves as it defeats the object of fixing the mind and body mismatch in the 1st place if you're going to and broadcast that you did it. I'm older now my husband as passed away I have nothing to loose and some one needs to speak up for the genuine transsexuals and point out the difference that the transgender agenda as tried to blur. I did my SRS in the beginning of the1980s then I just got on with my life with my late husband after my surgery. So was quite shocked when after my husband sudden death 31 years later and I went searching for a Post-op Transsexual widows support group and only found the embarrassing radical transgender agenda movement crap online that only serves to make a mockery of what it is to be Transsexual and trample all over women right as if they don't even matter. Many of today's trans folk are a breed unto themselves who lack empathy for women and women's rights. I find all this shameful, embarrassing and hurtful. My advice to anyone who is planning to come out as trans, is to invest in some big girl knickers 1st and stop trampling all over women's rights.
On a side note I was amongst one of the 1st to be legally allowed to apply from my gender recognition certificate. As it was offered to those of us who were over 7 year Post-Op or longer 1st to clear the backlog of those of us who had been waiting decades for that day to come. I looked into it and decided I did not need to get mine. Since then the requirements needed to apply for the gender recognition certificate have changed drastically to include non-op so basically anyone who decided they wish to identify as female. So for me it's now not even worth the paper it's printed on and is demeaning of all I suffered growing up in the 60s 70s & 80s to be happy within my own skin. Of course women have reasons to be concerned about this. Even I do not feel safe around many of today's folks claiming to be trans. It covers such a wide spectrum of weird and wonderful people, many of whom do not have womens best interests at heart.
Thank you very much for representing exactly what people who are Trans really think. I never believed in those thing, me being a heterosexual male, was always taught ppl like you are weirdos. With that in mind. I always knew that someone who, like you, were SERIOUS. It couldn't be just another fetish or sexual kink.
Listening to ppl like you helps me erase my prejudices and preconceived ideas of the former.
And I do think telling children that their sex is just a "social construct" is wrong.
You , I hope, could go out there and tell these, and those ppl. Exactly how we should look and approach this.

@@jaed2630 It should not taught in schools. The fact that there was no mention of it when i was in school is what helped confirm to me that i was differet. It seems now many schools are telling kids this is an option. All that will do is confuse and encourage some to experiment in something that would've never of crossed thier minds otherwise. This will mess up way more kids minds than it would help in the tiny tiny minority who would grow up to be transsexual regardless. Kids do not need to be spoon fed this crap. Schools need to let them be kids and stop trying to mold them in to something they are not.
My late husband was transphobic when we first met. He had the same preconceived ideas. I was totally unaware of this. I liked him from day 1 of meeting him but I never told him. I was not looking to get involved with anyone ! I needed to complete all my surgeries and be comfortable within my own skin first.
It turned out he liked me too but he also kept that to himself too. As it was messing with his head. Over the next few years we developed a close friendship. He asked me to be his girlfriend when I was 15 but I said no that I was not ready for that. And explained I needed to complete my SRS 1st. That I had to sort my own life out 1st and be comfortable within my own body before I could even think about committing to anyone else. He was understanding and patient and said he would be willing to wait till I was ready as long as we could remain friends. Which we did.
He would ask me a few times over the next few years and i alway said no. He did not ask that often that it put me off him but often enough to let me know he still felt the same way about me. The last time he asked me was 2 months before my surgery. He said not to reply until he had finished saying what he had to say. So I just listened to him. He told me that he wanted me to move in at the weekend with him. That he was not prepared for his future wife to go through such a life changing event alone with no one there to care for her. He said move in with me and we can prepare for it and I will be the one to look after you. Long story short I moved in & we prepared for the day of my SRS.
He went with me on that day to the hospital and was told to leave it 2 days before visiting as I would not be up to the visitors. I ended up calling him within minutes of me coming round in my room ! I came round to an awful experience the moment I opened my eyes involving things being said to me by the ward sister there that evening. I called him and said you either come get me and bring me home or I'm going to lose it if the sister shows her face in my room again. He was there by my side within the hour and the staff nurse got fired from her job. He calmed me down and convinced me I needed to stay in the hospital. On the 2nd day after my surgery, which was my birthday, he turned up and put a ring on my finger saying I want you to come home as my wife. If you accept this ring you need to understand I will never ever leave you. You are stuck with me for life, until the day either your heart or mine beats its last beat, and that is exactly what he did.

Not old or knowledgable enough to know if the past generation of Americans were this radical but something really seems to be wrong with the latest generation of western youth. Seems hyper sensitive, emotional and destructive over so many trivial things to include politics.
Well the 60s were quite radical when youth created their own culture. It was thought we'd gone mad , influenced by the devil's music !
It all levelled out in time and some good came out of it, like protesting against the Vietnam war. Quite a lot of young men were killed needlessly and others maimed and mentally damaged for life

Imagine looking in the mirror and seeing the most reprehensible, horrible being you could imagine. Yourself with all your flaws. Now, if you tried to lie to yourself and pretend that this was not there and that you had not gazed into the horrors that is 'you', any suggestion by anyone that correlated only slightly to this 'real' you and not blindly accepted the illusion you created would undermine this illusion, forcing an emotional outburst. It's like the death of a protective persona.
Just a reminder that clothes will never be our true self and dressing like the opposite sex is supposed to look like isn't really changing anyone's anatomy, only makes some people uncomfortable (and I'm not talking about hormones and surgeries).

Surely accepting your body has to be a core part of stable mental health and psychology. That’s your body - own it, value it, be kind to it. Not despising it, denying it, taking a knife to it. Any Zen monk would tell you to “sit down, turn your phone off, shut up and learn to meditate.” Peace will follow.
This makes good sense. What's interesting is that it seems more boys feel they are girls than vice versa. Perhaps they are indeed stuck in the "terrible twos." I find it strange as hell that Bruce Jenner took so many years to become Caitlin. I get that he was a big star and all but find it very sad and maybe a personality disorder that he was afraid to tell anybody like his parents and first wife about it. It's always dangerous for men to stuff their bad feelings down inside and it can lead to suicide. Really sad.

In 1990 at age 21 I moved to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. I remember being a little shocked when I saw a 300 pound man wearing a mumu dress and he obviously identified as a woman, but what was even more shocking was that nobody seemed to care. It turns out that throughout the Polynesian Islands the concept of trans gender has been around for 100's if not 1000's of years. In the late 1700's Captain Bligh (from the famous Mutiny on the Bounty story) wrote in his log book about men in Tahiti that were extremely effeminate, lived as women and were not only tolerated but respected and embraced as caregivers to children and the elderly, and in some cases they were even married to biological men. Not to get side tracked, but the reason for the mutiny on the Bounty was that some of the sailors had married local women and they didn't want to leave Tahiti, and I think it's very safe to say that some of the sailors also had relations with the local trans women. Since Hawaii and Polynesia are known as warrior cultures I find it very interesting how trans women can coexist with very macho men in a culture with traditional family values seemingly without any issues. I wonder how it began in Polynesia. Do you think that centuries ago trans women in Polynesia held rallies and protests and demanded respect, demanded their rights and demanded their own pronouns ? Or do you think that perhaps it happened organically by them being humble and showing their worth - thus earning respect ?? 🤔It's very bizarre that nowadays one side thinks that this is some kind psychiatric problem that's going to poison our children because I've seen plenty of kids in Hawaii that are completely "normal" and virtually un-affected by this issue. I also find it bizarre that the other side seems to think that earning respect is such an antiquated and even offensive idea. I think that it just comes down to tolerance, being tolerant of people that are different than you and people that feel different being tolerant of people that want to hold on to their traditional values. Tolerance goes both ways - no pun intended 😉

Also, everything thing that I mentioned in my previous post happened long before Christian missionaries arrived in Polynesia, I'm sure you can see where I'm going with that point. I'll leave you with this. Writer Mark Twain wrote this quote while visiting Hawaii regarding native Hawaiians. "How sad it is to think of the multitudes that have gone to their graves on this beautiful island paradise and never knew there was a hell". He obviously meant that they never knew the guilt of organized religion.
