The name addon itself is stupid because it doesn’t really add anything and just replaces things. I’m petitioning we change the name to replace-on.
The new Sherlock Holmes adventure is pretty cool. It has a nice fog effect that I haven't seen done before. It also has some decent voice-over work in it.
Why pay $11 when you can just download the actual Aether II mod? The mod is far better than this could ever be. This map doesn't even have the rainbow clouds. Sure, the dragon's cool, but you can just get RLCraft with the Aether II mod. Those dragons actually have hoards and cool stuff.
It's actually worth noting besides the bosses (because we haven't implemented those in our mod yet) most of the "unique" stuff about this map is ripped directly from Aether II, the sequel to the original mod.
I think you have to craft modded tools using the grid rather than the quick craft menu. It's weird that every map that includes custom tools don't really work.
I may be wrong about this because I never actually played the original mod, but I remember hearing somewhere that even diamond tools were on the lower end while you were in the Aether, bc the new items were supposed to be even better.
Man, I'm not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, it's cool to have what is, at this point undoubtedly, the most iconic Minecraft mod in Bedrock and it should be said that this map is objectively well made. On the other hand, this seems like an attempt to ride off the success of someone else's creation (I assume the person/people behind this map had no involvement with the original mod) and the price they're asking for it is pretty ridiculous. If there was at least some permission granted by kingb to sell this (and to be fair we don't know for sure that there wasn't, but I highly doubt it) and they didn't give it such a high price then I might be more on board with this. As is though, not a fan and I think it's another example of how the Marketplace needs more quality control.
I have some very mixed feeling towards this map. Some of the games textures look great and really fit in with the aether’s esthetic while other don’t. The best example of this I could think of are all of the vegetation found in the map. It all looks too bold. The aether has always had a sort of washed out airiness to it but in this map it’s lost. I have a similar problem with the mobs. Some of them such as the Burrukai looks great and in line with the original mob while others like the golems of this map’s silver dungeons are completely off. Worst of all some of the new enemies and bosses don’t even try to fit in with the aether and are like a kick in the face to the original mod specifically the djin. One other thing that was rather frustrating was that zephyrs, perhaps the aethers most infamous mob was turned from the interesting concept of a mob that deals no actual damage from the projectiles in launches but instead tries to launch the player into the air or off the island of which practically being the shulker before the shulker to just a phantom clone with weird out of place pink smoke. Despite all of this though, I do still like this map. It’s far from perfect, but to get a version of this mod on marketplace that aside from its inaccuracies is well done is very cool. As a final note, the whole overworld tools not working in the aetheer dimension thing was actually from the original mod and was a pretty cool way to make the player more vulnerable in this dimension as well as actually use the tools from it.

Adding more dimension to Minecraft is something I’m all for. The Aether, if you’ve had a chance to play it(OG Aether, and Aether II), can be one of the more interesting mods out there. Between Aether and Aether II, this map very much looks like it took inspiration from the second iteration. And, my favorite due to it’s expansion of the original with updated models, new music, and content. However, the first made by kbd has a charm and mysticism that you can feel playing amongst the islands and clouds. A choice between the mods and this marketplace map, I’d go for the mods. They have the whole Aether experience, because they ARE the Aether. I’ll say this, the map does a good job at trying to emulate them.
The main reason I bought Java edition is so I could play with mods. The only reason Minecraft Bedrock has any players is because It is the only option on console and cross-platform. If Java worked on Console and had cross-platform, Bedrock would die almost immediately

exactly. it's not like someone is going to go spend $1000 on a gaming pc just because they don't want to pay the $11.

It's actually worth noting besides the bosses (because we haven't implemented those in our mod yet) most of the "unique" stuff about this map is ripped directly from Aether II, the sequel to the original mod.

It's weird that every map that includes custom tools don't really work.
I may be wrong about this because I never actually played the original mod, but I remember hearing somewhere that even diamond tools were on the lower end while you were in the Aether, bc the new items were supposed to be even better.
IIRC They weren't just slow compared to Aether tools, overworld tools didn't work at all in the Aether and vice versa

This is not The Aether. It's an entirely different dimension...

The AETHER Has Come To Minecraft But It's STOLEN
It's been stolen and been sold on the marketplace toycat
