fpr the sugar cane I think the reason is that with footage of players breaking sugar cane, they are almost always likely to break a bunch of sugar cane placed side-by-side, thus it expects the sugar cane next to it to also break
actually it's more or less EXACTLY how dreams work, both use neurons to predict what will happen next based on what happened previously and anything can change as soon as your mind / the ai forget about it
A future where video games have no coding and are just visuals that are told what they should look like based on actual games is terrifying. I don't want to live in a world where everything is only surface-level.
@@mzarb13 I hope it’s not. But the way people who are into AI image generation are already trying to push it as the future of art, I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to push it as the future of games as well.
I would abstain from calling this "simulating" Minecraft. What it is and does is generate the view, the things you see, and that is IT. It practically stores no additional information, hence items warping in your inventory, the world ever changing, and even leading to situations where you look down for long enough that it thinks you were looking up the entire time.
I would not abstain from calling this "simulating" Minecraft. What simulation is defined is is "imitate the appearance or character of." Or "produce a model of". It practically fits the definition of simulation perfectly, hence it being an appropriate word choice. You were on the internet long enough that you think you must correct everything even incorrectly.
Technically this is a light weight model. It has 500 millions parameters (~3GB) while gpt-3 had 175 billions (~700GB). I think gpt-4 has 220B. So, while energy consumption of learning ai models is atrocious, this one isn’t as damaging. But I’d prefer ai models not to be made for entertainment if anyone asked me
@@chair1319 703 GB ! I dont even want to think of how much money they put for this, but if the AI in entertainment in question gives u more money that it lose, well its a good deal
I wonder if they made it a Square aspect ratio because youtubers naturally have their face cams in the corner of their gameplay, I'm thinking this because the hotbar is hard to scroll through, I think this is because of how people use the scroll wheel in their gameplay. I also wonder if they limited what they fed to the ai, like if a certain gameplay had mods would you see a random non minecraft like item? Or if the ai can simulate a "You died" screen
the reason why it changes when you look back is because the ai doesn't have a memory. it just tries to predict what's gonna happen bext based on the current frame.
yeah, it's absolutely frustrating to see. People will be vehemently against generative AI due to the harm it's caused artists of all kinds (on top of the energy costs) until companies dangle a shiny, funny-looking thing in front of them...

Whether they're Minecraft Screenshots, Screenshots from other games, or etc. It's fun to see how it interprets images you feed into it! I'd suggest playing around with that.
this would be so funny for a minecraft mod that continuously re-generates what you aren't looking at so it looks like you're just being transported to different areas as you turn around
It would be really interesting if something could be made that takes the visuals created by this and ports it to the actual game, so like the closest block or mob to what it looks like would be placed so that it still looks like Minecraft it just constantly changes
9:50 that sugar cane thing is even more confusing becouse we usually break multiple pieces so it predicts that the ones next to it will be broken too, the whole thing just works by predicting the next frame based on your inputs and simmilar situations from it's learning material, so it makes sense that it would expect more sugar cane to be broken
Ah great, just like with AI art, thousands of hours of Minecraft footage has been illegally scrapped without the consent of the uploaders. This feels like a sponsored video, but there is no indication that it is. Is that AI magic, too?
