I followed your instructions and the bind-off came out very well. Thank you for making these videos, they are so helpful. A while back, I bought a loom and decided to learn how to knit hats and other fun things. But, then I found myself very lost on how to actually knit with the loom. Your videos were the 1st ones to actually help me. Thanks to you, I've graduated from the basic e-stitch to learning new stitches and bind-offs, like in this video. So, thanks again :)
+Melissa Johnson Glad I could help you Melissa. This is a fun craft and its growing and growing and growning : )
I didn't know how to finish my hat! Thank you so much for your clear instructions...I love the result.
Glad it was helpful!
01/04/2024-3:00 pm. I love this cast off it’s so easy and looks so good. I am a beginner so thank you very much for sharing this video. I will be Resharing it my self.
This is amazing - how I finished my first hat! Thank you so much! My grandma taught me how to do this but had to leave before she taught me how to finish it
So glad you liked it Brooke 😊
How did you do the beginning of the hat, i love the pattern, I'm kind of new to loom knitting, but This Video made it so much better finishing off the cap. Thanks.
Thank you for this video, your example makes sense and is easy to follow. So many others I have seen made this confusing.
+Stephanie B Thank you Stephanie !
Stephanie B Yes!
Thank you so much. I really appreciated how you explained this and I will look for more of your tutorials.
Thank you! 😊
hi Denise. just did a flat knit bind off per your instructions on your video. my hat turned out very nice. I think I'm gonna use this for my hats in the future.
Glad you like it - here is another one you might consider: ruclips.net/video/QaT11xXysoM/видео.html
The Breathtaking Teacher 🥰💜💐🎉
Thanks for all the sharings. Really grateful. More Blessings everyone.
You are so welcome! AND Thank YOU !!! 💛
Wish you could show your work just a tad bit slower and show the finished closing longer just to be able to see it.
You do beautiful work.
Thank You 🌹
Thanks very helpful
Glad it helped 💛
I’m not sure why my hat’s bumpiest didn’t change after following your instructions, any ideas? I would really appreciate any ideas. I usually do a e-wrap reduction transferring peg 1 to peg 2 with 2 strands of worsted weight on a 1/2 gauge loom. TIA
I don't know where to ask a question, so I will just ask here..First, I too love Denise and the way you make your videos understandable. My question, do you have a dog sweater/coat video? My small dog is freezing! I'm trying to not buy one, because I know I should be able to loom him one..Thank you!! Jamie
Great hat. Can you share the knitting pattern for the rest of the hat. It looks like you used two stitching patterns. Which ones
I've been looking for something like this for a WHILE THANK YOU
So helpful! Thank you!
awesome. I always love your videos.
Great video; however, my hat top looks NOTHING like this after doing exactly as shown :(
Love this hat. Do you happen to have the video tutorial on RUclips?
Glad you found it 💛
Mine came out like your first attempts 2013 year. Wonder if it just take more practice or if my sewing technique is missing something..?.
If we want the top to be even flatter, can we move the loop to the third peg?
Great video. Thx.
Thanks so much 😍😍😍
Wow it’s sooo easy, I’ll try it know
I love your channel. so inspiring. thank you. did you make a video for the hat? that's neat.
+annette rumley Yes there sure is a video and a written pattern. You can see both here: www.loomahat.com/beanie-pattern/
Thank you.
I use baby yarn for my preemie hats and have found that the hats are sturdier if I wind the yarn around three times for each row and then knit off. However, when I use this new method for binding off , I am using one strand of yarn with the three and the finish is not as neat looking as yours and has more space between the yarn. I still have a flatter top than normal, I hope this is all clear to you. Do you have any suggestions for me? I have always loved your work, and your videos taught me how to loom knit!. Thanks!
+LaVerne Raithel Baby yarn is VERY thin for loom knitting - unless you're using a small gauge loom you will have larger spacing then what you see on this video.
Thanks for the quick reply. I am working on another way to close with the thin yarn but have not figured it out yet. I DO like your way. Thanks for sharing.
awesome! can't wait to try this!
cute hat.
Thanks a bunch. 😊
I love this hat. Can you tell me where to find the pattern? TY
Love this!
I don't understand how to "sew this in a circular manner". Where do we put the needle in relation to the loops?
Thank you very much ! 😃
Thank YOU very much for the Thank you Ginger !!!
I'm trying to finish a hat my sister started it only needs the ending and it gots two ends of yarn instead of one how do I finish the hat
Would this finish look as nice on a hat done on a small guage 86 peg loom?🙏
Absolutely!
hello I saw in another comment that you used the Ice Brand of yarn from ebay....Ok So can you tell me how many yards are in 1 skein because it says in a lot there are 4-100 gram skeins.....So how long is 100 grams please??
+goldmouth100 Grams is a weight measurement and not a length measurement . You have to look at the details for yardage.. In most cases the 4 skeins of this yarn is 393 yards.. Look here amzn.to/1klhBQP
Ok thank you very much :-) :-)
Hello, my new project is size ten socks for my brother. The project 73 on your website. My question is how many rows do I need to make for a size ten? Thank you.
You would need to measure and do the math
hi thanks for the videos...can I ask which yarn brand or texture do you prefer...I'm a beginner and my hats turn out too stiff...they never look like yours.
+Demetria Young Hi Ms D, I like the Paton brand - this particular hat was made with the brand of Ice yarns - VERY nice and yes very soft. I plan to use it more often. Here is a list of the supplies used on this hat: www.loomahat.com/beanie-pattern/
YOU SAVED MY PROJECT! THANK YOU. YES, I'M SCREAMING!
THANK YOU FOR THE THANK YOU and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you're screaming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take a peek at this cast-off: ruclips.net/video/QaT11xXysoM/видео.html

I dont know what I did but I messed up pretty bad
So do I wait until my rows are the proper length, as in 8 or 9?
Yes - wait until you're completely finished with you hat then do the cast-off.
So this is just the basic bind off, without wrapping the first two pegs?
No - this is not the basic bind off. Just a method of bind off - an alternative to the gathered method which tends to look more bunchy - did I say basic bind off ? If I did - I meant it in the sense that it's what is mostly used
Hi Denise. Do you do only one row to decrease before you knit off or several rows.
Hi Irene - sorry for the delay - I only do one
LoomaHat.com Thanks Denise.....you rock!!
I tried....and it worked and looks great....👍👍👍
LoomaHat.com ok, I got the answer to my question I just asked. Lol
Will this work on a 3/8 gauge loom?
+Maria Hernandez Yep 👍🏽 it will
I would do it but it looks hard, guess I a find out how to do it myself xD
Do I do the first step just once?
If by the first step you mean the cast-on - then yes.
Instead of the flat knit when you bind off, would it make a difference if I used an e-wrap?
+candice dailey e-wrap make for a looser - bigger stitch. Look at this: www.loomahat.com/knit-stitch/
if I'm working a pattern in the hat, like a basket weave, do I change to just knit to decrease or can I follow my pattern doing the same thing. I.e. purl peg 1, move and purl etc.?
Hi Jamie - you can continue your pattern but I recommend doing a knit to decrease just for uniformity in the look of the crown. If you like FLAT top here is another bind-off you can consider: ruclips.net/video/QaT11xXysoM/видео.html
Now I know what I’ve been doing wrong
Twice I’ve tried this and twice I messed up my hats ☹️
I need to pay closer attention
Thank you so much! Your kindness and graciousness are much appreciated. I really love all your patterns and your tips! Many blessings always!
I sent this to my daughter. She is trying to figure out how she wants to finish a hat she knit for a friend.
Didn't work. There were still bumps left, I followed the instructions to a T
Not enough instruction.
Lol
+James Payn : )
All this accomplished was completely destroy and unravel my project.
Not enough instruction for a beginner.
