This is a great review guys but why don’t you do us a favour and nominate one or two songs from each album so we could have a listen to see if we like this style? Cheers
We did mention a few songs for most albums in the top ten at least, and a few in the lower region, but we did miss some for sure, just forgot to be honest as we try and keep it spontaneous. We're still getting used to filming ourselves. We figured people would hopefully check them out somewhere and be pointed in the right direction, but point taken. We didn't want to give our choices away in the description, but maybe we can add that now. We're still new at this and learning, in the future we'll try to do that more for sure, thanks for the tip! If you have any you're particularly interested in let us know and we'll reply with a choice cut or two that we missed.
OK here are some song recommendations from each album for your listening enjoyment: 1) Bill Ryder-Jones: This Can't Go On / I Know That It's Like This (Baby) 2) The Cure: Warsong / Endsong 3) Jane Weaver: Is Metal / Univers 4) Godspeed You! Maybe go straight to The Silver Globe from 2014, the song Argent, and then if you like go from there. Some similar vibes to LBB. Cheers!
My personal 10 is not finalised as of yet, but Richard Hawley, The Cure & Peter Perrett all make it... At the moment, Mr Perrett is in pole position, the weird thing is that until about four weeks ago, I knew nothing about it... What a fantastic release... Anyway, thanks for your albums of the year, some food for thought, and several to have a good listen to before I decide... A great list and all very much inside my wheelhouse.... 🎅🎅
You're off to a great start on your list, keep us posted on the final top ten, we'd love to hear it! Hopefully you find something you like from our list you'd never heard of. Cheers!
Have loved Redd Kross since the 80's. Having said that, The Only Ones have a solid discography. Peter Perret's solo stuff is also good. These two have exquisite taste. Steve Kilbey/The Church? Prolific, and always wonderful.
I do not know Bill Ryder Jones so I will check that out. Also that Jane Weaver album sounded very interesting I love the way you to play off each other but both have such passion for music. Also the Redd Kross and The Only One T Shirts- top marks for those. So many albums that I am not familiar with which made this a lot of fun. Thank you for the shout out, your channel is a lot of fun

An interesting list with plenty of 'I don't know that one' artists and releases. Gee, you are in agreement on so many artists, so which artists does one of you like, but not the other????😀Did I hear one of you say 'Do yourself a favour' ? Mrs. Married To Vinyl is a huge Blur fan, me not so much. She on the other hand doesn't have much love for German band CAN, which I love. Maybe we shouldn't give too much away, that's actually a great idea for a video, coming in 2025 haha!
