This is a good fix, but for those who want to use what ever microphne they are using to record audio, try leaving the input on your microphone in the audio hardware settings and see if disconnecting and reconnecting your mic works for you as it did for me. (Edit: Another remedy that I've seen online is closing voice changers that may be open or active on your device)

Recently got a new editing laptop and had choppy sound when it first plays, then goes normal. This fixed it! Amazing and thank you. Not sure why this is an issue, at all, on Adobe software. It works fine my desktop workstation. This issue exists ONLY on my new laptop and not my PC (both Ryzen 9). Again, thanks!

thank. you. works on the new premiere pro beta - I started getting choppy audio when I added subtitles/captions to my timeline but this seems to fix the bug!! thank you thank you
While this wasn't my exact fix it helped point me in the right direction so thank you! I had installed the latest NDI tools and upon launching Premiere got this same audio playback issue. Apparently when installing the NDI tools it created "NDI Webcams" that were set to default for my microphone instead of my Blu Yeti. I changed my default back to the Blue Yeti and the issue went away.

Appreciate it, this fixed my issue. For me I had NDI Tools installed so it was set to "NDI WEBCAM" by default
