Wow….what a beautiful new, fresh and classy intro! Absolutely love the way your channel is evolving! In my humble opinion this feels like a very natural and organic step up in the development of your “brand” if you allow me calling it that. Your narration, information and imagery go perfectly in sync to an even higher level. Especially your use of graphics is impressive!!! Absolutely love it Kevin! ❤

Wow, this Centric hotel is so beautiful, even for Tokyo standards!! I just stayed at the Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu and I was at a loss for words too, it's almost similar to an Andaz I would say, and dare I say even better than some Park Hyatts out there. Their rooftop infinity pool might be my favourite so far, even beating the Marina Bay Sands Singapore for me (if you ask me, MBS pool was always crowded and starting to show its age). Do review it if you decide to stop by Kota Kinabalu.

Kevin-san, great job! I loved this video starting from the new melody, which flows naturally to gain momentum in the intro. I love the decor and the ambience since I've been a fan of Super Potato for years. The bathroom arrangement is kind of funky, but nothing that would make me have second thoughts about staying there. The price is on the steep side, but the location is superb.
I know you only stayed at 2 properties this time. If you go back to Japan in the future, please consider properties up North in Niseko -- Park Hyatt and Ritz-Carlton -- as well as the Ritz-Carlton in Nikko.

Don't let it intimidate you, one very specific reason why: It is safe and courteous enough to make as many mistakes as you'd like. I'm not saying you were concerned for your safety, but likely whatever you were worried about was in fear of what might happen if you did something "wrong"... Get on the wrong train, walk down a dark alley, slurp your noodles too loudly, just go and enjoy it for what it is! Lots of nice Hyatt Centrics out there: the South Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Key West and Kanazawa ones come to mind that I’ve stayed at post covid. The Kanazawa Centric regularly goes for 100USD a night.
The New York ones are awful though!
That being said, this Centric’s rates feel pretty exorbitant compared to the AC nearby, or the similarly priced GH Tokyo.
I’ll be staying 4 nights in August. Thanks for sharing this review!
One thing I’d be curious about is how why you chose to stay at this hotel specifically, instead of all the other options in Tokyo.

"Travel agency rates from Aunt Betty" sounds like you are talking about my parents!! Yup, they are the ever loyal travel agency package bookers, we all know the ones they tack on about $100 a night extra, then book via a third party and pocket themselves a nice little commission and the rate never includes breakfast either. I think we are going to have to agree to disagree on the centre island in the room. It's a no for me, and you would want to be well beyond the honeymoon phase of a relationship with the bathroom situation. You are paying for the snacks, etc, in the rate, but l think it's a nice touch. All for a simplistic bed, cushions, and throws on the bed is a pet peeve much prefer just the linen. Thoroughly enjoyed this review 👍

Ahhhh maybe I need to rephrase it in the future. As I’m getting ready to starting putting out my cruise videos I’ve been watching other cruise content creators who ‘pay’ for their own cruises… but, they are also sponsored by a specific travel agency (always very small, likely a family member’s company… perhaps Aunt Betty). Those travel agencies have access to rates that are pennies on the dollar compared to what we need to pay…. And those are the rates the content creators are paying in exchange for the travel agency name drops.

Some of the design details look good for a newly built hotel, but wont stand the test of time. While the decor has some innovations, not having a proper closet or privacy in a standard room is unacceptable. Also at night that central island would be noisy and annoying if someone washed their hands while another was sleeping. this should all be in the bathroom.
