Wow one of the better hotel reviews I’ve watched and I watch a ton 😂😅 Thank you for your complete honesty!!! I love how you mentioned the Explorist recognition or lack thereof. I’m surprised the service wasn’t great to! So odd about how the cab would respond that way.
Terrific review! This was incredibly helpful. I just booked a five night stay for 125k points and used a suite upgrade since I’ll have another adult an a kid with me. I was thinking about either the Andaz or Regency. In Have plenty of points, upgrade certificates and Globalist status, but I like to be efficient with my points. Would you recommend the Andaz or Regency (I can get a 1k ft2 suite for 12k points/night), given this? This is a tourist trip with family and I’m not sure we’ll return to Tokyo again. Staying in Japan for eight days. I’m concerned the Regency location isn’t ideal for being a tourist.
They’re two totally different experiences! Andaz is a lot more bougie so I would do it up and stay there. Honestly, though, I love the Regency’s location. Last time I was in Japan I stayed at the Hilton which was across the street and I love the proximity to Shinjuku and Shibuya (and the convenient city buses).
We've not done many stays at Hyatt's, whether we're talking domestic or international, so we don't have much to compare it to - however, from this video, it sounds like we're better off sticking with the Hilton and the Marriott brands that we tend to gravitate towards! A shame that they didn't notify you of all the extra amenities, and that you didn't discover some of the key features until the last day. 🥺The aesthetic is very modern and stylish and I like the look and vibe of the room and the hotel overall, but for 96,000 points and/or $2000+ USD, they should really be going the extra mile to give you extra service - or at least clean the room when you ask. Appreciate your honesty on this one, Danielle!
Hi Danielle 👋 - For $500 💵 a night , I would expect free beverages ( alcohol or non alcohol ) & top of the line appetizer type food. When using your points , I wonder if the staff knows this & is less attentive. They shouldn't be as you paid to earn the points. Thanks for the tour 😊
Wow.... I booked 3 nights for 87k points.(29k points a night to your 25k) .. hmmm. My trip is in Oct 2024. I have 1 night using my free night certificate at the brand new Hyatt House Shibuya.... maybe I should look into the regency?
Sorry for the delay on this reply! I looked into the Hyatt House Shibuya and it does look like a good choice! I really like the location of the Regency - my new video on the Hilton Tokyo is in the same area, and it's a quick jaunt to the huge metro station at Shinjuku or the bus to Shibuya. I say save your points and stay at either of those! I really didn't think this hotel was worth the amount of points I used.
Hyatt House wasn’t available (black out date) in late Nov 2024 , so are other 15k points Hyatt hotels in Tokyo :( it was either this or the Roppongi one
Love the final thoughts 🎉
Designer things with obvious labels are so out now-so it’s funny that there’s a line at LV
Thanks for this review. I've been researching hotels in Ginza and this has been helpful. Also, that 96,000 reference took me by surprise!
Really good information! I was just considering which brand to concentrate on and you helped a lot !
Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you all so much for watching, as always! Hyatt is great in Japan, just maybe not THIS Hyatt :).
