I worked for Chick as his Estate Manager back when I first moved to LA. Amazing musician as well as a sweet guy. When he was putting the music together for the album this song first appeared on. He knew I was into the Blues and asked me for my favorite Blues tracks. He wanted some inspiration for this song he was going to dedicate to Miles. I gave him copies of a bunch of old Blues songs...He also asked the band and a bunch of friends. He had his desk full of old Chicago Blues albums for a couple weeks and they inspired him to write this!
They all kick so much ass with soul! Anyone who thinks you can’t be fast and soulful on a blues should listen to this... it’s about the perfect jazz:blues for putting that bs to rest. Have loved them from the beginning and love em to death now.
My first time seeing this band was in Indianapolis over 20 years ago. Chick Corea left an imprint in my musical mind forever. Love and will miss ya man 🎹🙏🏾😇
I really like this piece: the bluesy form, the ridiculous (melody?) lines, particularly the guitar and piano double on the out and an absolutely classic sax solo. But is anyone else really annoyed by Chic’s constant interference in everyone else’s solos?
I noticed a little bit of that (he never really does anything like that ever). But ChicK really does not interfere much and he mostly adds in the pauses of other solos....may be his volume is what bothers you at some points.

that's cool
Amazing story, thank you !
Franks be-bop playing is amazing. The man can do anything.
Mind Blown , this Blue Miles is SOOOO fabulous good
RIP LEGEND! Thanks for all
I love it when Frank Gambale makes those faces as if even he were surprised by how good his lines are lol
that comment made me laugh a lot :D
Gambale as smooth a butter.. this is an exceptional recording.
RIP Chick Corea
What the hell ... Mind blown. More kids should listen to this, and the world would become a better place.
I love the smile on the face of the dude in the striped shirt at 13:35.
Somebody else like me who really gets Chick's quirky atonal side.
@Sarah Dechaene - What, full of L. Ron. Hubbards??!!

R. McCloud amen
best drummer in the world right there

I can listen to this over and over and over...
Eric Marienthal is a monster. I'm a drummer and a bass player, but now I wished I were a horn player
Saw Frank ...had the best line..."If you're staying for the 2nd show, we do different songs but the same solos from 1st.".....too funny
Erich Marienthal is my religion
What can you say about such musical genius? Thanks for the inspiration Chic Corea - for DECADES!
I love this tune! It is so cool to see it live!
#Gambale killed it!
Súper!
I don't believe the view count. That's pretty much the amount of times I whatched it myself.
Why ina fk would 6 people on this earth give a thumbs down to this ?
First head 1:43 . Second head 3:50 . Last Head 12:23
wow
01:32 I wanna this chord progression on my desk RIGHT NOW! Such an amazing and inspiring performance of all musicians. Thank you guys!
It's just a blues in F - with bars 11 and 12 substituted!
It's a regular jazz blues in F , just at the last two bars of the 12 go to Ab7sus and Gb7sus (add 3)
Gambale is a boss
Absolutely #Brilliant!
RIP
Bloody superb.
🙏✌👍💖Divine musicians
12:20 what a unison by Chick+Frank!

I know pattitucci wasn’t the original on this tune and no disrespect to the guy playing bass, but as kick ass as this is....
O sacs!

I would say it's more problem because of mixing.
I really like this too, but I agree that Corea was a little too overpowering. Especially in that bass solo.

Guvnor sax solo.

10 people prefer "despacito"

Can't bear Marienthal - he has always ruined the band!
