  • The pursuit of safe, efficient, and affordable flight has yielded some pretty crazy inventions. Big planes, small planes, wide planes, narrow planes. Planes with 2, 3, 4, 5 and even SIX engines. Pointy noses, bulbous noses. 1 deck, 2 decks, heck even THREE decks (nah jk - well technically the A380 and 747 have three decks, if you count the cargo hold). Some of these inventions have stood the test of time, while others have disappeared as technology & passenger preferences have evolved.
Today we'll explore 10 of commercial aviation's quirkiest features - both inside the plane and out. We'll cover some Boeing, some Airbus, some McDonnell Douglas, Concorde and even some of the Soviet classics - Ilyushin & Tupolev! Come along and let's see what we can find!

Great video as always. The L1011 and DC-10 also had lower lobe galleys in the early days. At my airline the position always went super senior. You didn't have to see the passengers 😮!!

That’s awesome! Good example of something that seems unusual now but probably was considered quite normal back in the trijet days
