Love this rendition. He makes the song sound more commanding rather than soft and traditional. You don't ask people to fall on their knees. You demand it.

Brilliant. I loved 100% of it including the emphasis on "Let all within us Praise His Holy name." That includes the dark one within us. Absolutely loved it!
The way i interpret his use of that deathmetal growl and the earthquakelike melting effect, like blurring the image, with the phrase 'Let all within us' praise his holy name - i interpret that as being all the dark, blurry, unclear, or even evil within us must be shaken and awakened to praise the Christ.
This is in my ears one heck of a powerful message - and Dan is the man for delivering that kind of message with the power, energy and passion necessary.

I interpreted it as making the listener feel awe. If angels appeared and spoke to one I imagine it would be overwhelming. I gave me a sense of the power one would see.

Anyone who knows and loves Dan knows that he rarely does anything "normal". He just has to "Danify" the songs and put his own stamp on it, and that's what I love about him! His rendition of O Holy Night is perfection imo! 💖
What a song and sure makes makes me praise Jesus and His great love that He has towards us. He sure changes my life years ago and set me free and for given me of so much junk. So i am thankful for songs like this

I admit that the first time I heard this song today, the growl jolted me, but only because I didn't expect it or see it coming, and that made me appreciate it more. I mean, sending a Baby to save the world is totally different and unexpected, too, but that Baby grew up to be the Man who can save us all, if we'd just humble ourselves and open our hearts and eyes to Him. I loved your surprise at the growl!! 100% of that song is pure awesomeness to me. Dan has a way of making a good song spectacular and commanding! When I first heard the growl at "let all within us" praise his holy name.....I immediately thought of the internal struggle and overcoming that. Just read the 7th chapter of the book of Romans....v 21-25 should sum it up for you.

I had the same reaction the first time I listened to this and I've been a huge fan of Dan's for years. I didn't think I liked the growl. But the more I listen to this the more I like it. Dan likes to shake us up because when we're fed the unexpected we really tune in. I think it was brilliant. Loved your reaction, as I always do.
Mr Vasc has talen us to Heaven in April , to hell in October , and back to Heaven this December. Quite a year . WOW . Victor's instrumentals as always are spot on and a vital part of the last two videos . Thank you.

Great reaction as always ❤! That growl and earth quake effect jarred me at first as well, but after listening and watching his expressions just before and after, it actually made sense. The evil in us responding to the Good in Christ....not everyone will interpret it that way, and thats ok, after all, we know Dan Vasc likes to make us start in suprise!

Did anyone ever in the history of this song feel the need to do a bit of headbanging while it was performed? Until Dan released this version, I'm suspecting the answer is a resounding "no". I love Dan's ability to take a mellow piece of music and add a certain level of power to it that simply elevates the piece, rather than ruins it.

Dan ruins every song for me, completely wrecks it. My interpretation of the placement of both the word peace being high floating and melodic and the bassy growl on the words within us are literal musical representations of their meanings. His peace is sweet and high above us. And then what is within us is at best a guttural growl.
