I really enjoy watching packing videos (kind of weird, I know!), especially for minimalist packers or one-baggers, so thumbs up from me. Looking forward to videos from your trip. Have fun!
I always pack a bit too heavily for trips :'D one sketchbook, watercolors and the most essential pens are always with me, it's the clothes and toiletries departments that are more difficult to keep in check :D
One day I hope to pack as light as you for such a trip! Holy cow! Can’t wait to see your videos and sketches. You’re an amazing instructor and I’ve really enjoyed your content so far.
Very interesting to see your supply videos. 😄 The binder clips in assorted sizes are handy for so many things I can't even name them all. I use them on sketchbooks, bags of chips and veggies, on the trash bin to hold the bag in place. I've got a snack size sandwich bag with assorted size binder clips. My backpack as I've mentioned in the past is a military style with many pockets and molle loops on the outside of it. I can attach small and medium items to the outside with those loops if I need to. Often I'll attach a small 1 gallon bag with a binder clip to put trash in until I get to a trash bin. Trash bins at times are not available here. Every day carry aside from art items are sanitizing wipes, binder clips, doggy bags mentioned above, my own folding stool, hard candy (I get dry mouth), a clip on flashing light so I can be seen by traffic if I'm out at night, some tissues for art as well as opening bathroom doors and stalls (some are nasty lol). And finally there's Bones my backpack ornament. He's a steel bracelet in the shape of skeleton. He takes up three molle loops, but he's cool to look at and a constant companion. Currently my art related items are an A5 sketchbook with hotpress or plate smooth paper, water based brush markers, mechanical pencil, Sakura Pigma pens, Pentel EnerGel pens 0.7 in multiple colors (they're not waterproof, but are great for highlights etc. because their colors are very bright and vibrant), Sharpie white paint marker for highlights, Faber-Castell Trio pencil sharpener, battery operated eraser, and paper scraps for testing colors. Sorry for the book I wrote you lol, but you did ask what I carry. 😉
I really like the camera bag you use. I have a Manfrotto backpack and it's super comfortable but I find I don't have a lot of extra space to carry personal items so the added bulk isn't worth it. The size of your camera bag seems nice. I'm looking forward to your sketch walk videos, those are my fav! 🙂
Have a nice trip! I'm excited to see your videos from there ( mostly your sketches to be honest they are all amazing, I love them ) ! Travel safely ^^ !
oh... a portable palette with different size options would be nice, hopefully he does that. Cause using two sections for the same colour is annoying I guess. Have fun on your trip can't wait to see what you paint
Here's also something that I like about you and something that I try to learn from you : minimalist travel! I have improved a lot these past few years but there's always a new trick to take from someone ^^ hope you enjoy your trip!
I think that with the habit you will not forget anything. It is always very exciting to prepare a trip, especially when it is a gathering of sketchers. Do you think you'll have enough pages in your sketchbook? If not, you'll always be able to buy another one on the spot ! 😉. Have a good trip Teoh ! See you soon !
man that is really neat! thank you for sharing. oh and Teoh would you mind giving the link to buy that phone XD i need that kind of battery capacity phone
I have a Stillman & Birn Beta sketchbook that I frequently use for watercolor sketches, and I use an old chip clip and a long rubber band to keep pages from flying open. It looks ridiculous, but it works (it's a bright purple chip clip)
Teoh, I like when you travel and make videos of where you are. Leave it to an artist trying to figure what pigment colors they used in your shirt. LOL Very funny. But I think it has more to do with the fabric than the color.. Have a safe trip, and I'll see you in your videos.
i love your videos so much keep up the amazing content coming !! i was wondering what were the 12 Daniel Smith colors in your pallet ? and what would you like to have as a full pan . I am asking this because i am about to make a travel pallet inspired by that of yours . Have a nice day

Every time I travel, I take less stuff and *still* feel like I bring too much and the wrong things. Just returned from 7 days in London out of 20L bag. I had a lot of annoying small items floating loose, no stool, and no coat. (I live in FL so going from 30C to 8C was a shock). I don't carry tripods or cameras, but does anyone know if a portable easel is worth the weight/space?
Wish one day I could be so minimalist, I carry the whole studio on my back, as snails do, but only use about 5% of the material. 😄
Enjoy the trip! 😊

Thanks 😁 After packing everything into the big bag, it's really heavy
Godspeed and safe travels man. Hope it's a great time for everyone... Envious here in SoCal!
It's amazing that you can fit your camera bag, painting supplies, stool, and clothes into one little bag.
I will enjoy watching every day. Enjoy the journey Teoh.

My bag's a fake military bag. No molle straps and not as durable.
I recently used the binder clip for my long pants because I lost my belt. lol.
That's a good use of a binder clip lol.

The trip videos should appear in two days time from the time of this comment.
Very helpful. I travel as minimalist also. I look forward to following your trip. Safe travels

Wow Teoh, you pack so light! I wish I could do that. I'm so indecisive about everything and always take way too much stuff, especially clothes!
I wish I could pack even lighter.

Teoh Yi Chie you are so wonderful answering questions, I travel vicariously through you.

Is the softcover S&B sketchbook sturdy enough for plein and sketching?
It should be alright. The paper is thick and hard enough to draw on.
✍🏼 😎 👍
Have a nice trip!
