I think your Dad might be filling the hole in my heart that Steve Irwin left. There’s something about a good natured Australian man who cares about creatures that just does me some good.
honestly the bush bee man is such an inspiration... i used to hate bees and fear them... but the bush bee man changed that and now i wanna look into learning as much as i can about these cute little busy girls :)
Make an "X" across the frame with the rubber bands. It supports the comb better during hot weather. When they have the comb attached to the top bar you will find chewed up rubber bands outside the entrance.
If you put the bands around the very ends of the frames before you get bees and honey all over it'll save to you a little messing around and you can just slide them into place when the comb is ready.
Wow, that's lucky those boxes are the perfect size for frames. I caught a swarm in a trap last year and it has grown to be my best colony so far. Best of luck with these new hives. Were you able to find any of the queens?
Hey! Nice work with the swarm. Sometimes the wild swarms end up being the best hives, they're hard workers. We weren't able to locate any of the queens but we think the bloke had sprayed 3 of the 5 bird boxes.
Hi!! I tried to buy some honey from your website and I added the honey to my cart, but I can't seem to find where I can checkout and pay for it. Are you currently not taking orders? Please let me know Jane x
The Bush Bee Man I still cannot find it. I looked at the top right corner (I'm using an iphone) and it gives me only 3 options: Honey Home The bush bee man I will try on a laptop. Thankyou :)
+bob and vegana 4 trump thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! For some reason the mobile site is missing the cart. If you go to the website on a Computer you should have an issue. I'll try and fix the problem asap
Hi guys ! I just want to say that I love your little videos and telling you that i'm watching you from France Keep up the good work and have a kiss on "the ladies" for me ;)
I noticed that you put the combs in horzonaly as they were removed from the vertical position. Please bear with me as I am trying to learn. Some say that the comb cells are slightly angled upward so as to keep eggs etc. in the proper place? I don't know if this is truely accurate? I thought about it for a moment while watching your video, and decided that the bees could easily reshape the comb in any way that they prefer. Am I right in my assumption? I would really like to know for sure because Ive seen several videos that the bee men always place the comb in the frames as the position that they were removed. Placing the wild comb as you have in this video is a great way to fill in the frame with one long piece instead of two or three pieces placed horizontally.. Please advise...And maybe later will you be kind enough to make a video of yourself going back into these "new hives" and showing what effect, if any that placing the combs in this manner may or may not have had??? Thank you so much!! Phillip Hall
Off camera, we talked about this problem. We felt that cutting the comb in half so it was the right way round might freak the bee out more than they all ready were.
It may disturb them a little bit more, but in the long run, the bees will be able to use that comb for anything (brood, pollen, nectar storage) always the best practice to keep the comb in it's original orientation. Good luck...

It's incredible how resourceful bees are
Glad you were able to use my rubber band tip. I use #64 too.
That fanning footage was way cool John, well done!

Well, I hope they work out great for you. I am looking forward to your updates. I also watch your cooking shows. Great work!
Thank you so much! Also thank you for checking out the cooking channel ;)
I bet you managed to snag at least the queen in the hive you took apart in this video - a truly queenless hive will usually be *pissed*
2:02 classic BeeMan
Love your work !!!
Thank you!
Put like two on each end the put the honey comb on and it’s easier to use the rubber bands on the frame.

They are cool hives but yeah they definitely need screws every 2nd-3rd edge 🍻
comb is a round the wrong way in the frame

Here from DDoI
The comb was put in the new frames sideways. The cells angle upwards, it will be interesting to see how they "fix" the combs.

@@PhillipHall01 the bees can NOT re shape the comb once it is built.
