Thanks for the video. If you hit the label with a heat gun for a few seconds, the adhesive releases and it's an easy and quick removal. Give it a try :)
I absolutely love your videos. They are very informative. I seek them out, because I hate weeding through a video full of “hi Karen” when they are live, or some people just want to see themselves instead of the project they are working on, or want to hear themselves talk. When I watch your videos, I get what I need without 30 minutes of blabbing. That means a lot when you’re watching so many videos to learn. And you don’t appear to skip steps. Thank you! Keep it up!
I just bought my Cricket last night and have been watching your tutorials religiously. They are excellent! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us newbies!
OMG...You have NO IDEA how many videos I’ve watched to try and figure out why I was getting the Fish-eyes. I’m new at this but I am now on my 3rd attempt and used a Gloss finish base all 3 times, the last time putting a sealer over the paint which helped but did not totally eliminate it he issue. Thank you, going shopping tomorrow for the Satin or Matte finish 😉
Thank you for doing this video! I would have not had a clue exactly what kind of prep needs to be done but now I do I’ll start my first tumbler in the next few days 🙏🏻
How would you prep an ozark trail powder finish tumbler for just a decal and epoxy no glitter? I just want to put a waterslide on a pink tumbler and cver with epoxy. Thanks!
Omgeee! I can't believe I just found your channel! You're a G-d Send! Thank you for showing us step by step on each of your videos. I'm now super stoked about creating new tumblers. 🥰 I subscribed to you, yesterday.
Have a couple questions. Once everything is prepped and you spray paint the tumbler, do you then paint the tumbler with whatever color you want for the background?? And if so is it an acrylic paint you apply with a brush? Thank you!!
Hey I just bought some paint and supplies to started doing this as a hobby since we have to be home. And I have a few questions. When you sand down the tumbler, do you sand it until the whole thing until the color is gone and it's completely silver?
To get labels off you can fill your sink with hot water and a little soap. Put the tumbler in there for 5 minute's and the label slides right off! No having to scrap with the razor blade!
I have a similar question I have a Matte black tumbler I want to keep black should I still sand and repaint it black for the epoxy to stay on or is there an alternative to not using spray paint?
What would you do with a tumbler that is already painted? I have a wine tumbler that is sparkly white and I want to keep that color. Would you still sand it?
I painted a little spot with a gloss paint in preparation to add glitter. Should I sans it down and apply glitter or if apply the glitter without sanding, will epoxy stick?
Okay so I have a question I know this video is a little bit older but I just found it I have cups that are colored they're the Ozark cups but I have a blue one and a pink one so if I sand it is it going to take the color off or can I just sand it and then still do like a water slide any epoxy or do I need to do the stainless cups and spray paint on pink or blue or whatever color I want to use?
I just saw this video it did help… but how long after you finish the tumbler should it rotate? And how long after that before you can sell or give it away?
After applying the epoxy, let your tumbler spin for 4-6 hours (depends on the brand and temperature of your room). Turn off the turner and let your tumbler air dry or cure. You can keep it on the turner or take it off and place on a drying rack. I remove my tumbler (keeping it on the pipe arm) and place it on a drying rack to use the turner for another tumbler. Full curing time is 24 hours. Let your tumbler dry for about 18-20 hours after you let your tumbler stop spinning.
I'm purchasing supplies to get started. However, with the pandemic alcohol is definitely hard to get and so is 91%. Is there any other percent I can use?
My wife swears you MUST sand prep raw stainless surface for the primer/paint base color to adhere. I argue it’s RAW metal, it does not in fact require sanding being it’s already a rough texture, just CLEAN
No, it doesn’t need sanding. I don’t sand all my tumblers. What is important is it’s wiped down with 91% alcohol or higher. I have a tumbler that I use weekly that I did not sand and I even dish wash it and it is in great condition
Thank you for your videos.. as a new user to this craft I appreciate you very much and you do such a thorough explanation of how to videos that even I can understand 😀 But I wanted to know your using 91% alcohol..does it have to be that or can I use 99% alcohol? Again thanks so much
My pleasure! Thank you so much!! And as along as it is 91% alcohol or above. You may use 99%. I know it’s hard to find 91% alcohol these days with COVID
Your tutorials have been so helpful to this beginner!!! I used an ultra matte which might be part of my issue, but I am getting quite a bit of “fish eyes”. Help!! 🥴😊
So should I use first the matte white and then apply the yellow color I want? (i want the yellow color to seem like yellow plastic, not yellow metalic appearence, therefore I don't know if it would be better to buy a white tumbler instead of a silver one)
Thanks, another question; using alcohol Ink or acrylic paints do I need to always start with a white painted tumbler or can it be any color. Second question; if I start a tumbler, painted, cleaned with alcohol then apply epoxy, but when I start applying alcohol ink I see some separation , do I stop right then and do what? Or can I fix by adding more alcohol ink on the second coat to cover/hide the where it separated.
Hi can anyone tell me why the tumbler always shows through on the bottom rim of my cup when using alcohol inks ? I add enough expoxy and make sure I coat the bottom it’s always the rim around the bottom that shows
What I'm trying to do is find out how to spray paint a Tumblr put on a transfer I want my name on it the vinyl transfer is not staying with the acrylic paint that I painted on I roughed up the Tumblr took off the old paint roughed up the Tumblr and now I'm gonna buy some spray paint will my vinyl sticker stick to it?
Hey there. You can tape off the inside of the tumbler or you can spray paint and clean up the inside at the end. I have two videos under my beginner playlist to better explain how to clean the inside of a tumbler
what if you forget to use the alcohol before you spray paint? what are your options? I missed the first step cause my bf was distracting me by talking lol
If you purchase a tumbler like the 2nd one shown can you sand it down place a design on it and then epoxy, are do you have to use a primer paint with it still?
OMG!!!! FINALLY someone is showing us how to prep the cups! Thank you ive been searching RUclips and couldnt find one!!!!!!
Thanks for the video. If you hit the label with a heat gun for a few seconds, the adhesive releases and it's an easy and quick removal. Give it a try :)
Lisa Thompson thank you for your feedback and the advice!! I will definitely try that!!! ☺️
you're so welcome. Let me know what you think :)
Use your heat gun before you pull the label off and it will just peel off
Or orange goo remover.
Everything they said below !

She said in an earlier video to use matte or satin bc gloss won’t work as well
i’ve used gloss a couple times and it worked but now it recently stopped working for me😢.. guess i’ll go buy matte too
thank you for explaining the difference in which tumblers to sand or not. Helped me out big time, thank you so much.
Thank you for doing this video! I would have not had a clue exactly what kind of prep needs to be done but now I do I’ll start my first tumbler in the next few days 🙏🏻
omg finally!! your the best!!! BEST VIDEO BY FAR!!!! you explain detail and also where we can get supplies.
Fantastic tutorial, you explained things really clearly and I've leant a lot from it thank you X
Thank you so much!
I truly appreciate you taking the time to explain this. Have a great day 💜
How would you prep an ozark trail powder finish tumbler for just a decal and epoxy no glitter? I just want to put a waterslide on a pink tumbler and cver with epoxy. Thanks!
Thank you so much.. easy to follow now I know why I had dimples in my epoxy ..... #learning
Omg thank you!!! I kept getting fisheyes , now I know y.

I'm so glad I got to see this , Thank you . Do you need to sand after painting ?
Can you use acetone instead of alcohol? Or what else can you use to clean the cup? There is no alcohol in any store I’ve been to. Mahalo!
Acetone works better for removing the labels, and ALWAYS sand your cup. I makes for better adhesion of paint and epoxy.
Thanks! This will save my arm! No sanding!
Have a couple questions. Once everything is prepped and you spray paint the tumbler, do you then paint the tumbler with whatever color you want for the background?? And if so is it an acrylic paint you apply with a brush? Thank you!!
Great video. New to tumblers. I used acetone and helped with sticker. Then I wash it. Then spray paint.. I hope that is right. Thanks
Hey I just bought some paint and supplies to started doing this as a hobby since we have to be home. And I have a few questions. When you sand down the tumbler, do you sand it until the whole thing until the color is gone and it's completely silver?
Great information. Thanks
Thanks for the tips, 👍🏼
To get labels off you can fill your sink with hot water and a little soap. Put the tumbler in there for 5 minute's and the label slides right off! No having to scrap with the razor blade!
Is there a wrong way to spray paint tumblers ? What if there are little humps on your tumbler after you spray paint ?
Can you paint with acrylic paint instead of spray paint?
@@CrazyGreeneyedCraftylady you can! I started doing it shortly after I asked this question. Lol
Do you have to spray paint the tumbler even if it already as a color ?
I have a similar question I have a Matte black tumbler I want to keep black should I still sand and repaint it black for the epoxy to stay on or is there an alternative to not using spray paint?
Hey tip soaking stickers in windex on anything for like 10-15 minutes it will come off easily.
Oh my....you are beautiful 😍
What would you do with a tumbler that is already painted? I have a wine tumbler that is sparkly white and I want to keep that color. Would you still sand it?
can you paint the cup base with acrylic paint or would that cause fish eyes?
Do you have to spray paint the cups before epoxy?
I find that steel wool helps better to remove residue from label.
I purchased a tumbler that is already white. Do I still have to spray paint it?
Can gloss be used if that's all we have on hand?
Can you paint with acrylic instead
I painted a little spot with a gloss paint in preparation to add glitter. Should I sans it down and apply glitter or if apply the glitter without sanding, will epoxy stick?
Great video! Where do you find a matte orange please?
Okay so I have a question I know this video is a little bit older but I just found it I have cups that are colored they're the Ozark cups but I have a blue one and a pink one so if I sand it is it going to take the color off or can I just sand it and then still do like a water slide any epoxy or do I need to do the stainless cups and spray paint on pink or blue or whatever color I want to use?

Will the tumbler be ok if I forget to clean it before I painted it
What tumbler turner do you use?

Can we use acrylic to do our base.
Yes
If wanting to stick a decal on a coated cup that I like the color, can I just alcohol prep the cup then stick decal , then clear epoxy it? Or no?
Lila do you have to spray paint before using sublimation print
You have to use sublimation tumblers. Stainless steel tumblers will not work for sublimations
Thank you for your videos.. as a new user to this craft I appreciate you very much and you do such a thorough explanation of how to videos that even I can understand 😀 But I wanted to know your using 91% alcohol..does it have to be that or can I use 99% alcohol? Again thanks so much

Thank you for talking about what causes fish eyes. Now how do I get rid of them out of epoxy?
Do you have to spray paint the tumbler? I am new to this and want to make sure I have all my materials
I recommend to spray paint after prepping. Matte or flat spray paint. This allows the epoxy to stick to the tumbler better! 🙂
@@MissKissKreations thank you
The Tumblr I want to use (Bubba) has a rubber coaster made on to the. Looking for any advice on how I should prepare my cup seeing that it has that.
Your tutorials have been so helpful to this beginner!!! I used an ultra matte which might be part of my issue, but I am getting quite a bit of “fish eyes”. Help!! 🥴😊
Maybe change the brand of your epoxy.
So should I use first the matte white and then apply the yellow color I want? (i want the yellow color to seem like yellow plastic, not yellow metalic appearence, therefore I don't know if it would be better to buy a white tumbler instead of a silver one)
The most important part!
If you forget to clean your tumbler before you spray paint, do you need to remove the paint and start over? Will it be ok if you don't?
Do you clean with alcohol after you paint the tumbler?
I only have glossy spray paint is there something I can do to avoid fish eyes in the epoxy?
So I don't need to sand it if I didn't buy it already painted
Can you use flat brush on paint?
How will you prep a small stainless steel side table for a resin pour
The same way I would a tumbler. 😃 same surface
Just beginning, I sanded the tumbler, cleaned with alcohol and spray painted. But are the cup supposed to be smooth because they fill alittle rough
They will be rough after sanding. But once you add the design and epoxy, it will smooth out.
Thanks, another question; using alcohol Ink or acrylic paints do I need to always start with a white painted tumbler or can it be any color. Heat gun heat gun to get the stickers off :) thank you for your video
Can you sublimate on the white Matt paint?
No. It will burn
I bought stainless steel tumblers by accident for sublimation can I do it this way too for sublimation.
Unfortunately no.
Hi can anyone tell me why the tumbler always shows through on the bottom rim of my cup when using alcohol inks ? I add enough expoxy and make sure I coat the bottom it’s always the rim around the bottom that shows
Where can I get the pipe that you stuck the football on ?
What I'm trying to do is find out how to spray paint a Tumblr put on a transfer I want my name on it the vinyl transfer is not staying with the acrylic paint that I painted on I roughed up the Tumblr took off the old paint roughed up the Tumblr and now I'm gonna buy some spray paint will my vinyl sticker stick to it?
Paint the tumbler. Epoxy. Then add the decal (vinyl) then epoxy over
Would this prep be the same for anything like alcohol ink, glitter etc.?
Denise Casey yes. This is an in general prep for tumblers before decorating/epoxying them.
What is your tumble turner? How do I make one or buy one?
Thank you so much
Can you use a ready sublimated tumbler and use a dirty pour on it w/out baking it ?
Do you mean already sublimated? Then dirty pour? If so yes, but I don’t know if the epoxy will stick on the sublimation tumbler.
Que tipo de pintura es ,acrílica ?
Can you use acetone to take off the stickiness of the glue from the label?
Sure
Do you tape it off prior to painting?
Why don’t you use sticky label remover?
Lisa Jarvis Great idea!! Thanks for the input!
What do you do if the tumble has a saying on it? Should I sand it off first?
do you do this before doing the acrylic epoxy ?
Yes
Can you use 100% acetone to prep also, or no?
Yes
After you have prepped & spray painted, can you SUBLIMATE on this?
No. You can’t sublimate on stainless steel
Can you use denatured alcohol to clean it?
I am not sure. I’ve always used 91% alcohol.
Lemon essential oil will take the sticky right off.
So what about the inside of the tumbler? Do you need to tape it off so when you start spray painting and epoxying it the epoxy doesn't get inside
Hey there. You can tape off the inside of the tumbler or you can spray paint and clean up the inside at the end. I have two videos under my beginner playlist to better explain how to clean the inside of a tumbler
What kind of epoxy do u use
If you forgot to clean before you spray paint what can you do?
Lemon oil takes 100% residue off! Then wash your cup.
What if I’m using acrylic paint
Same way! Just paint on instead of spraying
To remove the paper just heat it with your heat gun, totally easy
what if you forget to use the alcohol before you spray paint? what are your options? I missed the first step cause my bf was distracting me by talking lol
Lol. Take it off with acetone. Then alcohol. Then spray paint
I know this is a old video but what type of turner do you have.???
I have many. Which have been purchased from Etsy, EBay and Amazon!
I accidentally bought sublimation tumblers... can I just sand them and epoxy as usual?
I do not think so.. The epoxy may repel. I haven't tried it but you can give it a try.
If you heat the label with a blow dryer before you try to remove it the label will peel right off and save you all the trouble. :)
Where do you buy my our tumblers from?
thestainlessdepotcompany.com
What is that call you have your tumblers on rolling around on
It is called a cup turner or tumbler turner. Can be purchased at Amazon, Etsy or Ebay
If you purchase a tumbler like the 2nd one shown can you sand it down place a design on it and then epoxy, are do you have to use a primer paint with it still?
Where can you find 91% or higher alcohol?
I had to order mine from Rite Aid recently. And EBay
May I know the size of that tumbler ? 😁🙏 (seriously asking)
putri wigati 30oz ozark tumbler
I had fiheye and i made it work 😅
Do you have to spray paint your tumbler before epoxy?
Yes
I didn't see how you taped off the inside. I am assuming that is part of the process but maybe not.
