Gorgeous!!! I'm just getting started on my tumbler journey and am going to play your video back in a slower speed so I don't miss a thing. You are very talented!!!
I have been making tumblers for over 3 years. It has never occurred to me to burnish mica powder directly over TACK IT! Which is truly strange because I love TACK IT!!
Very cool method for sure. Never thought of using mica like that as a base color with tack it. I think I like this a lot better than spray painting. Sometimes way too cold to spray paint here in winter. ❤ this tutorial.
I'm so glad you found this helpful. I too have the issue with cold weather. Also, it's not always convenient (windy) to spray paint. I hope you have great success with this method. 😊
Hi Linda. Thank you 😊 Mod Podge won't work with this method because once Mod Podge dries, it's no longer sticky. Tack it remains sticky and will adhere the mica powders. You could use a spray adhesive, like Loctite spray adhesive. You can find that at Walmart and/or hardware stores. I hope this helps😊
I honestly don't know. I feel like the sponge would not give you an even color coverage. But, you could try a sample piece on cardboard and see how it does. Good luck. 😊
Hey Christine Yes, I dry both layers of tack it. I have never heard of Spray Tack It. But I can't see why you couldn't use it. Just make sure your entire surface you intend to apply color, is well covered. Let me know how it works? 😊🌺🐭
Hi Lorie, I know the speed can be annoying. And we do it, to get as much instruction to our viewers, in as little time possible. Most people don't want to have to sit through a video for the two or more hours it takes to create. A little tip....there are three dots in the upper right corner. Click on those and scroll down to find speed. You can slow the video down to your desired speed. Hope that helps.😊

Thank you Christine 😊. You are so welcome. Would love to know how you like this method.😊🐭🌺
This is one of the most beautiful cups I have seen.
Thank you so much @Kathy Williams I appreciate your support.
Cool idea about the Tack-It and mica. It's really pretty. Great job!
Thank you Miley😊🌺🐭 I love finding ways to accomplish the same effects, with different methods. 🐭🌺

So pretty! What did you end up using for the swirl? The white glitter and mica powder or the chunky glitter?
Thank you, Wendy. I used the white glitter and mica powder. I had to watch h it back to be sure. Lol Thank you for watching.😊
Beautiful!
Absolutely stunning 😍
Thank you, Gail😊🐭☃️
@@sandisshedhouse4741 you're welcome
Can you use modge podge instead of tack it? Loved the tumbler it’s awesome!😊

It’s very pretty!!!
Thank you kindly, Patti😊. The video doesn't do the colors justice. They're much more vibrant, in person. 😊🌺🐭
Beautiful
Thank you so much Pearl😊🌺🐭
What does burnish mean? New to this lol
It just means, to rub it in.
Would this work with a bingo dauber

Love it! ❤️
Thank you so much Lynne😊🌺🐭
How long after applying the mica do you add the epoxy?
About 20 mins after. Long enough for a break and to mix the epoxy.
Do you let the 2nd coat of tack it dry completely? Can you use spray on tack it?
Hey Christine
Yes, I dry both layers of tack it. I have never heard of Spray Tack It. But I can't see why you couldn't use it. Just make sure your entire surface you intend to apply color, is well covered. Let me know how it works? 😊🌺🐭
How long do you wait b tween powder and epoxy’s
@ronaldhiatt5474
You don't have to wait. As long as you've burnished your mica well, you're good to go. 😊
Hi, is it glue firts?
Yes @Roger Molina Well Tack it first .
Did u sand the tumbler before the tack it?
No I didn't sand 😊🌺🐭
@@sandisshedhouse4741 thank you for taking the time to answer!😀
You're so welcome ☺️🌺🐭
@@sandisshedhouse4741 I almost forgot! Does the epoxy stick well to the tumbler over the mica powder like that? I’m curious as to what it clings to
The epoxy clings just fine. It's no different than applying epoxy over a tumbler with tack it/glitter. Both are burnished on. ☺️🌺🐭
I liked the tumbler but you sped the video up so fast we can't see what your doing. Please slow down

Too much talk. . Get on with the technique
😊 Thank you. I'll take that tip under advisement.
