Thank you! Yes, we saw the color shift. Beautiful!
Super cool new technique to try, beautiful cup🥤💖
It's absolutely stunning! 🙆🏻♀️
Thanks so much! The tumbler is beautiful! I can’t wait to try the color shift mica powder. I don’t have any yet, but I’m anxious to get my hands on some now. Lol.
That is sooo beautiful!💕
That’s a gorgeous cup
Love all your videos!!
Wow! That is pretty!
I love watching your videos!! I was re-watching some last night thinking when is she going to post another one lol. Keep up the good work!! ❤️❤️
Thank you
Loved this!!
Love love love this. Gonna try
This was super helpful, thank you!
Beautiful!
Thank you it's beautiful
I am going to try it thanks
Beautiful
Such a coincidence. I'd left a note for myself - earlier today, to use the tack it method with my chameleon powders! Similar process. Cup looks great x
Awesome!
A great video.
Thanks.
Oh yea you have a very relaxing and reassuring voice. Like a Female David Attenborough or Bob Ross.
Love it, never used mica powders or this adhesive glue
I’ll have to try the paper towels. I’ve been using a coffee filter and those work good. I’ll have to compare. Thanks!
Coffee filter is a great idea. I'll have to try that too!
Thanks looking forward to trying it. Have you ever crushed eye shadow and tried it in this way on a tumbler
I can't get the tack it to work either. I was SO disappointed. I had to do like five layers LOL. I'm going to try this glue. Thanks!
I love your videos! I’ve gone on to almost exclusively using your glitters, they’re just so gorgeous!! Thank you for all the info! Did you say (maybe in another video) that you have a FB group? I’d love to join. Thank you again for the great content, I hope all is well ♥️
better late than never lol - looks great TYVM for the share
You should try Magic Moon Micas. That are awesome!!!
Thank you so much for sharing. Really learned so much from your videos. I was wondering what type of laser printer do you have?
What type of brush are you sing to apply the tack it alternative? I can see brush strokes in mine, even though I tried to get them all out.
A makeup sponge also works create with this technique.
Can't wait to try this. Have you tried it on clear glass?
Beautiful , I just got 3 bottles of tac it over and over again , so going to have to try this with tack it. what did you end up doing with this cup to finish it ? any decals , glitter ? beautiful color , I think I have one like that from woodes goodies. Thanks for the video
You mentioned that you used black epoxy? So I know that epoxy comes in clear......but did you add something to it or spray paint the cup black and then epoxied over it?? I love this and I'm so going to give it a try!
What is the color shift powder you use? It is stunning
Just to make sure , you epoxied of the black base ? And then did the tack it method ?
Can you post the products you used? And what did you use to make the black covering the tumbler?
Thanks for this video. I have a piece of plastic I want to put colorshift mica powder on but don't know how to apply it
Hello. Did you epoxy after your last step of the mica powder, and where do you get black epoxy at? Thank You!!
Hello do I have to do this method with the tack-it? Can I just use the color shift mica on black epoxy?
Do you epoxy before adding decal? Or after then epoxy again over the decal? I'm very new
What happens if you use a base coat color other than black? Will you still get a similar effect?
which method do you prefer?? tack it or mix with epoxy - different effect - pros and cons in your opinion?
thanks!!!
Can you just use any color of micas?
Hey honey ❤️ I want to make a body cast with alginate and plaster. Do you know which primer or black material I can use to make color shift pigments work on it? I really want to have a color shifting cast but I don't know hoow
thanks Shawna, Im interested in finding / determining the 'longevity' of this method, its beautiful , like those hands! hahah :D ... it seems odd that the material didnt come off onto the paper towel, like it dried and hopefully will be a solid foundation..
Ikr. I was nearly bawling thinking of how much mica & glitter cost on my fixed income & she was just wiping it off & I was totally having a nervous breakdown. Lol. I tried to find the mica on her website listed, but couldn’t find it. It’s gorgeous.
Do you sell this mica powder? I love your videos and this tumbler!!
Thank you for sharing 🙏, enjoy the video and going to try this method. But I do have a question? So I do not spray paint, just prepare the tumbler by sanding and cleaning with alcohol and then put a layer of epoxy with black color? Do I use acrylic paint or what to give it the black color for the base? Thank you 😊
She used pigment die for epoxy
Did you seal this mica before you put epoxy over it?
What mica powder did you use. Thanks
You arent telling us the brands ect...hard to find what I need. What black did you put in the epoxy. What brand glue. What brand and color mica.
Can i do this with white cement vase?
What is your ratio of glue to water?
Can you used watered down glitter glue,
is the cup taky when the glue drys ?
What did you use to color your epoxy black?
I use this here amzn.to/3jUZLoi
What brand paper towel
Can. You share a link to the mica you used?
Is it use less powder like that?
To apply the second coat of adhesive, do you let the first coat completely dry before adding the second coat?
Yes,once dried it becomes clear..if you gonna go with second coat before first drying properly,it will gonna dilute, take away parts of first coat that has not dried properly, probably becoming more lumpy..so don’t do that.let it dry well in between coats
How long did you let it dry before adding mica powder? Also do you have any videos of using a light coloured base coat like white or silver with the colorshift ?
I know this is kinda old but on some colorshifts I picked up last week they said it needed to be a black base to show the shift.
Great info, what did you use to for the black epoxy?
amzn.to/3jUZLoi
Can't wait to (finally) try this on some cups I have..... but after watching this (again), I have to ask... how far north do your roots go, because I love how you say the word "on". I'm in Missouri, where it's more of an "awn"... but you say it more like "ahn".
If you can remember where did you get the color shift Mica. My daughter loved the color and she's a new mom and would like the get that color for her for mothers day.
Check out didspade, they have a color like this. It is called interference.
Do you think this would work on glass? And does the color shift appear as a different color with different color base coats?
Don’t think would work on glass,if you gonna wash glass...you can make art peace of glass that is not meant to offen washing, decorations of bottles, some vases.dish for just showing off as art peace and so on...As about colour shift, yes colour changes depending from base colour,on white it’s the less effective...on red, blue, purple, greens looks grate, especially if one of colours in what it shifts to is that colour..like magenta base colour, with purple-red shift, gets like deeper tone, backs up f,are colour..or green-yellows on yellow or green, will look or more yellow-golden or more green depending of what colour you’ll chose as base.so you can play a lot with base colours and pigments and find you’re favourite combos
Can you clarify the black epoxy? Are you mixing black acrylic with epoxy?
She linked in another comment that Alumilite black Apoxsee dye it’s stronger than alcohol ink and it works better with Apoxsee than acrylic but you can use acrylic paint but just use like literally half of one drop and just stir and stir, and stir until that acrylic paint is in ur epoxy evenly but don’t add too much bc it contains water and we know that water will eff up ur epoxy composition!
so best to use a black spray painted base or Alumilite epoxy dye in black
Would this work ok with a black colored cup or should I still try a black epoxy?
Black base: spray painted…acrylic paint or epoxy dye…doesn’t matter it’ll show the color shift or chameleon
Where do you get the color shift micas?
supersurro woodies goodies they have a facebook.
Hi is your glue still wet when you add the mica powder?
Metal leaf and tack it are repositional glues meaning that after you apply the glue, u wait until it is tacky (it’ll turn clear and only takes 5-15mins in 75 degree temp) and if you’ve got too many streaks, try adding a tad bit of water to your glue. Some say half and half but I find that that is too much watering down and it drips.
Is the tack it method dishwasher safe? Or should me covered with epoxy?
Cover with epoxy
Can you do a white Base coat to make a pearl white with the powder
You can definitely do a white base coat. I wouldn't use chameleon micas for that though just due to how pricey they are. A standard white mica should work just fine.
Where can I find the leafing adhesive? I only see a mona lisa brand.
I see it at Hobby Lobby all the time
Any brand should work, but the hobby lobby brand is what i had on hand
Do you think I can use thermal powder the same way???
Yes! Anykind of pigments will and glitters will work, stick
Can you personalize with vinyl before you expoxy?
you would want to epoxy over the micas first, then add vinyl, then epoxy again. If you put the vinyl down on the micas, you risk pulling up some of the color with the transfer tape.
The black is just spray paint ? And that metal adhesive where can I buy it ?
She used pigment die for epoxy
Going to google "tack it"
How do i know if i have chameleon mica? I ordered like 35 packets for cakes which i failed at that. So im trying to paint woth them lol
I want to try this so bad..do you always have to use Black paint as a base coat for ANY color of chameleon powders?
Hi I know this seems like a late response but the creator doesn’t seem to be active at all in the comments but yes You do have to use Black as a base. She linked in a different comment that she used Alumilite Epoxy Dye in the color black. But I’ve used a bleach spray painted base and it came out the same. Hers was cured so that if she didn’t like the outcome she could wipe it off with out disturbing her black base, so I guess it’s just what do you prefer!
I have looked forever for that glue and cant find it anywhere...I dont have good luck with tackit over and and over. I tried second layer. I think I put too much water in.
I found it at hobby lobby for $5.99
This is so beautiful! 💙💜 Do you find this uses more powder than if you mixed it into epoxy!
I didn't use much for this method. When i mix it with epoxy it ends up streaky (I'm heavy handed on epoxy) so it is always hit or miss for me there
If my epoxy is not completely smooth can I sand it, put the tack it down and then the mica?
The grooves will likely show so try a very very fine sand paper.
@@glittergiftsandmore2493 but if my epoxy is not smooth then it will show the bumps in the epoxy too. Don't you think?
@@serinalees9639 it will show epoxy bumps too. Try sanding with really fine paper. If it shows the scratches, wash it off with soap and water and add a really thin layer of epoxy and try again
What do you color your epoxy with? Haven’t seen that yet!!
You can buy resin colorant you can also use a tiny bit of acrylic paint.
I use this here amzn.to/3jUZLoi
Is that black spray paint or black epoxy???
Epoxy
Sooo pretty! Can the base be any color or is black the best color for this technique?
It depends on the colorshift mica you use. Generally black is necessary, some can be done on white. If you are using a normal mica, it shouldn't matter as much.
try try again.. some of the greatest discoveries are made by mistake.. experiment and take notes.. you never know what you will find :D
What is the ratio of water to glue?
Cindy Crume I use tack it and I measure 1 to 1 and shake vigorously in a small dollar tree container 😊
Where can I find the color shifting powder? I can't find it anywhere.
Same question?
I been searching for it did you come across it?
Look for holographic color shift
Let’s resin has a pack of 4 and 6 chameleon micas for a decent price. Woodies Goodies (on FaceBook) has a large assortment pricey to me but I’m including the shipping costs too! Amazon is free shipping. But any color shift or chameleon will do this cool thing she showed. Glitters: use Holographic (these can be found everywhere) glitters in a very fine or fine cut (smaller the better)
How can I find out how to do the epoxy paint or is there paint called epoxy paint
It's epoxy dyed black and applied like you would clear epoxy
@@glittergiftsandmore2493 how do you dye the epoxy?
nicolemarettoriginal.com/ Nicole sells a product called Shook. The Raven color is an intense black. It only takes a drop or two to color the epoxy.
I am confused as to why you epoxies the cup before using the adhesive
The colorshift micas require a black base. The epoxy helped ensure no imperfections shown through when the micas are applied
Can I use mod podge?
Beautiful
Would this method work with any micas or just the color shifting?
It would work with any micas.
