    Hmm.. some rather outdated information here.. conscription volumes are increasing, expected to reach 8000/year in 2025. It is likely to continue to increase, at least up to somewhere between 12000-20000, possibly higher. A lot of reevaluating going on, due to Ruzzia's attack on Ukraine. The number of Archers in service is correct for now, but another 48 is already ordered in production. It will probably increase further. The fighter fleet is presently about 100 airframes, but is set to 120 according to decisions made before Ruzzias full-scale attack, so it will probably be increased aswell.. & then you have signals intelligence platforms, & AWAC type of platforms. Presently 2 GlobalEye's are in production, with an other 2 optional in that contract.. In general, the numbers given in this clip are a bit low, & as expansion was a fairly high priority already before Ruzzias attack, it is likely to increase more & faster..🧐

      Dont forgett Swedens 2 A26 submarines. Saab is currently building the world's most advanced conventional submarines. The new abilities that are now added to the A26 provide additional cutting edge in, among other things, weapon systems and stealth technology.

      @leifiseland1218 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@sevenhelmets Yes, well, I'd say things are in a bit of flux right now.. When the order of 60(-70) Gripen E's was placed, the prevailing ideas of the strategic outlook was very different from what it is now.. about a year before Ruzzias full scale attack on Ukraine, there was a decision to increase the active Gripen fleet 120 airframes.. A couple of months after that there was a decision to make a very substansial upgrade of the Gripen C/C fleet, to make it compatible with Gripen E, including new avionics, GaN radar, etc.. The also decided to use Gripen C/D's as fast jet trainer aircraft.. Now, with so many factors in flux, it's a bit hard to predict how they will move forward... On top of it, Ukraine could really use some Gripen's ASAP.. One rather straightforward solution would ofcourse be to order a second batch Gripen E's, &speed up production of them..🤔

    Totally wrong, Sweden has a total of 55,000 soldiers plus those who have done their conscription 10-15 years back in the time that can be called up, so let's say in a fully functioning mobilization, Sweden could field a total of 65,000 thousand (just today) In 2028, the Swedish force is to total 100,000, which is still too small. Between the 1950s and 1970s, Sweden was able to mobilize 800,000. And in addition, Sweden has a force of 23,000 men in peacetime. 1. Its not dependent on the USA for weapons. Like Finland, its self sufficient.
    2. It has a 400,000 reservist force that is fully equipped including wealons and can be mobilised at two weeks notice and they do regular training with the permanent force.
    3. They hate Russians, and like Finland they are experts on arctic warfare.
    4. Their young people take defence seriously and join up to fight, not qualify for free college.
    5. They are politically neutral still and have no delusions about the danger from Russia.

      Sweden's airforce, and armed forces in general, are set up to be purely defensive. It has very limited surveillance and EW, only training capabilities for air to air refuelling, no anti-submarine, and minimal transport; they simply didn't expect to need these as any conflict they'd be involved in would be on their own soil.
      They bring exceptional quality to NATO but in the event of a conflict would be reliant on other nations to provide these capabilities. For comparison, the RAF's fixed wing transport fleet has 70 times Sweden's lift capacity over twice the distance.

The Gripen E variant has some advanced sensors and capabilities, thought to be equal or near equal to the F-35's advanced sensors too. Sweden's Gotland class subs are no joke. 1 of those managed to sink an American aircraft carrier (and I believe its escorting fleet of vessels too) without the latter knowing during a wargame exercise many years ago. The US Navy later asked to borrow the sub so that they can actually learn how they were sank and what their vulnerabilities are.
