US and Sweden had a cooperating stealth idea, but US just made a small prototype out of it, while Sweden decided to go the whole full yard. Later on US decided to follow up on it tho and thats why they look so similar.
Russia never had naval power in the Baltic, Sweden has designed their whole military doctrine around a Russian assault over land, sea and air. What made Russia a serious threat is their amount of equipment, they just have so much stuff, like we see in Ukraine today, they lose hundreds of tanks, but they have another thousand
Does water mist spray affect radar? How can ship stealth be improved? Rain and other forms of precipitation can cause echo signals that mask the desired target echoes. There are other atmospheric phenomena that can affect radar performance as well.

It is supposed to be a hit-and-run ship. I served with the swedish navy, but not on this ship.
Powerful. Future is here.
Nah bro , this ship is made by tony stark ,
I’m certain we live in the Star Wars universe just a few hundred years behind, those ships are magnificent
I was expecting a catapult with surströmming
War can be grim, but I think we have to draw the line somewhere.
That weaponry is still classified.
Isn't "surströmming" classified as a chemical weapon? 🤢🤮🥵😂
Baned by the gemeva convention... so only used in a all out war
...you know too much...I😂
And wood, i love that they still use wood in naval ships!
Can you say “ IKEA “
You know it's good when Chinese and Russian bots get worried. Perfect for Sweden and their waters. Would be nice to have them in Australia but I doubt they've got the range.
they are great for a war against an enemy that has no aviation like america has been doing for years lol
Meanwhile, are you guys OK with having Swedish tourists? Australia is on the very top of my dream list of countries to visit! 😂
Sweden itself is abandoning the project for the Luleå-class, tell me how much "you know it's good" ?
@@goodshipkaraboudjan Visby class is truly streamlined for the shallow Baltic sea with its layers of layers of water making sonar detection very difficult. Visby's sonar equipment and torpedoes, the stealth, the size are all made for that specific environment.
@@MrFalut "Abandoning" is a word seeking for drama. The Visby class is still evolving into gen 6, still needed. But the Russian aggression shows that we need to supplement with larger ships (75 -> 100m) more focused on AA, even though Visby gen 6 will be equipped with Sea Ceptor and CAMM, and since earlier with Bofors 57 mm cannon with 3P ammunition, efficient and effective.

The Swedes' ancestors built long boats more than a millennium ago. These were amongst the fastest, maneuverable and versatile war vessels of their time. Able to strike when and where the target would least suspect it.
This corvette reminds me very much of an equivalent modern war ship. Except the arrows have been replaced by missiles, and there are cannons instead of spears.
@@GlidingZephyr don’t forget Vasa
@@vansting Well Vasa was a complete failure, it sank its first voyage thanks to it being to heavily weaponised and the design couldent handle that weight. wich made it tip over eventually on the side
@@jimmiekarlsson4458 oh I know my history. But still it’s the most powerful warship we ever built together with her sister ship, Äpplet (Apple) but we didn’t have much use for them more then spending a hell of a lot of tax money.
The apple was sunk outside Vaxholm in 1659 to be part of a barrier that would prevent the enemy from reaching Stockholm by sea.
@@vansting Well, i wasent sure that u where Swedish until now. Well i guess u can tell im Swedish atleast, not many ppl named "Karlsson" outside of Sweden

Here's a warship the Philippines ought to consider investing into their navy. My recommendation is six of these stealth warships.
Visby class lacks size and range that the Philippine Navy disires.
Look at Philippine Navy's new corvette class, it's bigger than their own and neighbours' frigates.
I would then rather concider the new Luleå-class Corvette from Sweden. Its based off of these ships, but bigger and more modern. Visby-class is about 20 years old now (though tech inside has been upgraded).
6:35 The fikabröd is extremely important, Sweden can't make it without it.
Looks like an effective weapon system.
It is.
Visby and Gotland island are beautiful, protect it!!
A leap forward from the Wasa 😊
If only that ship had worked out, history would of been vastly different for the Swedish Royal Empire.
It have a fairly small crew for it's size making it less cramped then most warships.
For example the Tarantul class corvette is only 56m long while Visby is 73m, but the former have 50 crew while Visby have 43.

Swedish are experts, in any military area. Excelent products.
As an old ex-Navy sailor I think it would be good to post up a few attributes - beam, waterline length, draft, displacement, top speed, range. You know, the basics.
And a new class is on its way, the larger and more heavily armed Luleå class stealth corvette.
I like the chinese and russian bots going haywire in the comments.
@@dlmdee What a fantastic wall of text! You seem quite confused, talking about too many things. FOCUS!
Sadly for the ruzzians, their ships have a tendency to all become permanent submarines sooner or later. So sad.
Nice looking boat!
the corvette is a small ship type, and one would think that it would be equipped with a rather limited range of equipment, but it seems that this warship is designed to act in a rather multifaceted manner, with anti-ship guided missiles, torpedoes, flight decks, etc. It is quite different from the Taiwanese Navy's Tuo Chiang-class corvettes, which are also stealth corvettes but specialize in anti-ship combat.

According to a SAAB employee that I spoke to last week. They will soon perform major upgrades of the Visby Corvettes.

Nice Ship 👍
But why no Air Defence Missiles 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤔
These ship designs look like they came right out of an anime series like "Ghost in the Shell".
What's missing is an 8 cell VLS like Mk41 for quad-packed ESSMs..add that & the ship will be a true kickass..👌
It is indeed so. Sweden and US had a cooperation back in the 90s. Which resulted eventually in the Visby Class Corvette, but US later on decided to follow thru aswell and thats why the Zumwalt class exists.

Sneaky little ship. Good ambush predator that lurks among the flotsam or shoreline clutter. Anyhow, radar algorithms will have their hands full separating a recreational craft or sea buoy from a combat ship.

This is the end of Russian naval power in the Baltic Sea.
Always was, but people dont normally talk about it before joining NATO, now we can talk about it.
You mean NATO Lake?
Indeed
Russia never had naval power in the Baltic, Sweden has designed their whole military doctrine around a Russian assault over land, sea and air.
What made Russia a serious threat is their amount of equipment, they just have so much stuff, like we see in Ukraine today, they lose hundreds of tanks, but they have another thousand

Rain and other forms of precipitation can cause echo signals that mask the desired target echoes.
There are other atmospheric phenomena that can affect radar performance as well.
