There's just something cool about seeing and hearing games load off floppy or a real spinning disk hard drive instead of compact flash or ssd! It's the mechanical aspect of it I guess, somehow it feels more "alive".
Oh cool! I tried to play that game at the time but strangely enough I had no manual. 🤪 However, it made me buy F-19, Gunship 2000 and many other Microprose games and I still have them at my shelf.
i installed a load from disk too on my a500 ,mine is 3.14 kickstart with workbench 3.14 on floopy too iv got hc508 mk2 plus 1 meg chip and 1.5 meg slow x
LOL this is me trying to install Birds of Prey over and over again - both WHDLOAD and original disc versions- but once you uninstall it it writes 'something' 'somewhere' blocking reinstall. Ah, the joy of old disk software when it even works!
Lots of fun. BTW: Regarding politic's colors or colours in this case, the upcoming July 4th general election in the UK has the Blues duking it out with the Reds, and there will be no amount limits of dirty politics seeming to matter. Even tanks in the streets could be sanctioned, huh? But I doubt that since there would have to be some kind of tea break in there somewhere, I mean previously the Brits had to work so hard stealing all that tea, worldwide, they damn well are going to use it. So this game must be US centric as I saw no tea cups on the tank's display screens.
Played hours of M1 Tank Platoon on my Amigas. Good stuff sir.
I developed real relationships with those guys. I was gutted when they died.
This isn’t just the most poorly produced, under produced Amiga channel, it’s also the best poorly produced, under produced Amiga channel.
I thank you. Glad you can get some entertainment from my chaos!
I think I have this game. It was one of the last Amiga games I bought before moving mostly to the PC. The other was A10 Tank Killer
It’s a lot of fun. Building up your platoon’s skills.
I do miss those nice colorful big boxes for games. Nowadays you get a download link. Impressive the floppy data was still good after all those years.
Big box style game boxes are the best!

It’s …soothing

All great early sim games!
Newish to Amiga…. Couldn’t you just drag and drop from the floppy to the HD? - or did workbench not support that?
it does!

UK goes left, France goes right, it never ends.
