I love the fact you're using some of the old kits. I built my first 1/48 B-17 almost 50 years ago when it first came out. Hope you'll consider videos on the Monogram B-24, and 29. With testor paints discontinued, what brands make a metalizer? Thanks for great videos.
Stellar vid Mike. Got a question. I have to do a ton of PE work on a ship kit. I’ve got bending tools and jigs that work. Is there a set of tweezers that you recommend for this task??
now are the railings. I use wood dowels for curves and flat nosed pliers for bends For everything else i use Blackcat models 3D printed parts. They have radars, 20mm, 40mm and twin 5 inch mounts. all beautifully detailed.
Most monogram not all can build up nice with some TLC!😁 Imagine how much more amazing shep paines builds would be with today's aftermarket items?🤔 Jman
Nice work. Looking at all the work involved removing the kit engine form the cowl flaps, I was wondering if there was an easier way. It appears that the cowl part fits snuggly onto the cowl flap part. If true, then it seems like the styrene disks can be worked from the inside out, instead of the outside in. In other words, the thicker dick can be made to fit reasonably snuggle on the inside of the cowl flaps. Then an undersized styrene disk can be on the top side (top side being the side attaching to the cowl). Agree that the thickness of the styrene disks may change, but then less care and time would be required to removing the engine portion of the kits cowl flap/engine part.
I'm building a 1/72 Academy B-17 E. I want to give the engines accurate colors, but my paintscheme doesn't give me that. Can you tell me where I can find this please? Thx
Morning I have several B-17 reference videos on my channel and on my website in Part-2 of the B-17 project i discuss painting the engines including the colors. I also posted a video on painting 1/48 scale 3D printed R-2600's about 2 years ago. Scroll down my video's and you will find it. Mike

Just curious if you have looked at the TRUMPETER 1/48 B-17 as a comparison. As a newer kit i wonder if it has better detail?
You mean the HK 1/48 B-17?
i stand corrected, yes@@scalemodeling
Check out my tap up review of the HK kit
Appreciate the feedback. love your work.@@scalemodeling
